Knicks · By definition: Oak is a Hater! (page 1)

He's a regular genius
For example, see Dallas Mavericks 2011 Championship run.
1. Oak the warrior with the knicks.
2. Oak the sour bitter retired attention seeker.
Loved the guy when he was Ewings wing man. Can't stand the guy in Mr. T mode as middle aged man.
CrushAlot wrote:I know in the past he has been brash but I didn't see anything wrong with his comments. I wonder if/when he gets another job with the league.
Personally, I think he speaks the truth. We have questions and only the games/results can answer them. I don't get the sometimes intense defense of the knicks moves as if posters here are making these decisions.
Beck slams Knicks for not having any thing to say about Lin. Seasonticket holders were lead to beleive Lin was a done deal. I don't have any season tickets but thats a whole chunk of change some fans put into thinking their point guard was Lin.
Dolan has not spoken to media in 5 years and GM's usually either make public statements or to ticketholders about the decisions made for the team. Lin was a big deal last year and Woodson was running around saying he was the pg. Dolan's gag rule make good men look silly.
I like Woodson and Grunny and the two would make a great sequel to "weekend at bernies"!
Little jimmy offs himself in the closet jerkeing off while "Gasping"! Woody and Grunny come up with a "Zany" idea that since Nobody really speaks to Dolan they can make over the team and MSG for the better and everyone thinks its Dolan making the changes!
This all takes place the Summer of Lebron mind you. So the new "Dead Dolan" is in the meetings with Lebron, signs Amare, and even more hilarious is "Dead DOlan" negotiations for Melo! "Stone dead pan negotiator" cries the Kroenke's!
Of course, time line changes as woody was not around but the movie works better when taking artistic liberty.
Imagine "Ambien Isiah" and "Dead Dolan" hanging out!
Oscar for best screenplay? "Nalod"!
Perhaps not, but it can be a UK classic! Let LONGISLANDKNICKS film it! Remember him?
1) the level-headed, realist Knick fan, who's loaded with history and gushes with happy memories and dreams of the future, peppered with just enough cynical love for the franchise that you can almost see him headbumping with Spike during timeouts.
2) the deranged, inconsistent N*ts-loving Wrong Islander who secretly hates the very rock formations that MSG is standing on. Who believes every moron, ex-player, statistics web monkey and media hack that, despite their surface bile, have coherent, valid points about this suckhole franchise that has never done anything right since they let Tractor Traylor destroy the back of the gleaming ray of Eyetalian hope who was poised to provide us with basketball the way it should be. And everything that implies.
Oakley is and always was too stupid to be Charles Barkley. Which actually takes alot of work.
Please, media hacks, go find some nice quotes by Mase we can read.

That was freaking great rant!
TO clarify my position:
I was a fan of the minor league NEW YORK NETS of the ABA. The 35 year residence in Jersey was a no brainer for me.
Dolan makes me sick to what assets he squandered to the potential of this franchise.
I was not a fan of the Denver Nuggets and Melo. Im coming around waiting for a "moment". Linsanity was a Moment. Amare's first half season with Felton and Gallo was a Moment! 6 games over .500 with a star and youth. Melo has had some nice games but the over all winning has not eclipsed what was here when MDA finally go this groove on with. Mozgov dropping 27 on (Hapless) detroit was a momnent. Relative obscure find comes of age and drops 27 in an NBA game is a Moment.
Im here, Im watching and I want the "Moment". At the same time I think the N*t to brooklyn thing is kind of cool and think who ever gives the city a championship first in the face of failure for the other is in trouble. Basically if the Knicks faulter and N*Ts win it all the landscape changes. Thats just logic. I don't N*ts are that good or the Knicks at all bad.
Give me my moment! Not a starphuch marketing campaign!
Just an opinion. I'll let everyone know when I change colors.

You say this a lot which I disagree with...That Gallo and Felton was the reason the Knicks were winning...No!!!!..Amare and Felton was the reason the Knicks were playing .500 ball with Amare playing like an MVP player and Felton a borderline all star...Wilson Chandler was the third best player on the team at that time...He was third in scoring, picked up the slack when Gallo got hurt...Chandler played three position for that team...He was far more valuable at the time for the Knicks than Gallo was...Chandler was probably was the best all around defender we had...Gallo certainly had more upside Chandler but that year was about Amare and Felton...
Amare playing like that was unsustainable...For the Knicks to be a .500 team, Amare had to play out of his mind...If Amare went down with that team, we would be a 30 win team again, no question...

Who does Wade make better? Did Durant make James Harden better? Who does Kobe make better? This is a stupid hack argument when you really have nothing to say. Winning makes players better. The Bulls actually played better without their best player. Explain that, genius. Did Rose make them better by being injured? Maybe if he had been using your silly bands, he wouldn't be so sluggish, huh Oak?

No....That's not what he is saying or what I'm saying..You could of course make it a literal argument...But what I took from it is Amare should get his looks, Melo should get his looks...Lin should not be taking more shots than Melo or Amare...I think it was a shot at MDA's style of offense...But last year u had guys just gunning it prior to Woody coaching...Basically the offense should be run thru Melo and Amare, which I agree with...

That was my moment. I bonded with that team and saw where MDA was going. It was a work in progress. We had draft picks and trades to make as well.
I was enjoying it. I liked Amare and Felton working together. I thought Felton was not going to the one to lead us to the promised land but he had a two year deal and after a tough start it came together.

First off they are my moments. Some tow the party line and drink the kool aid.
The team was 6 games above .500 and Chanlder was hurting and the young team was under the shroud of the MELODRAMA that was messing with its head. They went backwards that month.
The moment of Mozgov was a young unknown player given the starting job, then lost it, then got hurt then did a 27 pt game against an NBA team. Not an elite team, but still an NBA team. That was like a mini Rooski "Linsanity" for. Melos's 42 and 17 in a loss game was not a moment. It was a great game by a great player who suppose to have games like that. I don't blame Melo for that series or any of the knicks problems or short comings.
I thought PreMelo was a work in progress to add to with trades and draft picks later. Thats my take. We came off two bad years of cleaning house and we got Amare with a young core and it was 6 games over .500. Better than expected. The melo trades bring a higher ceiling and expectations that Im not sure he or the team can fulfil. And here we are with Felton again who I think would make a great off the bench player on a serious contending team. I LIke Felton a lot. With Lin I thought his ceiling would have been higher. Maybe not this year, but maybe inside of 3. Maybe he busts. Felton might be "safer" both financially and on the court but I just don't see him as a championship QB pg of this team. Maybe Dolan is more afraid of the N*ts and if the knicks falter then it really compromises the brand. He had to c*ckblock the Nets from getting Melo. I think we'd have been better with Deron and keeping assets (paid a lower price) to fill out the roster. But way too much has happend to retrace it all. Thats a long arguement that has been done. Its my take. Don't agree? Thats your or anyone elses take to have too. Someone asked me. Im not asking anyone to agree with me.
We got a great break with Amnesty and Dolan ability to pay BIllups and get Tyson which really has helped this team!!!!
without Tyson last year we don't make the playoffs do we? Without Amnesty we play Billups and most likely no Linsanity. We would have had cap space this summer for a free agent. Maybe we looking at Dwight, Amare, Deron as our Three. I doubt it but it could have been last seasons starphuch for last year at least. Soon we go into CP3 mode?
So back to point: Melo and Amare have to get it good for this to work. Oak said good stuff.
Amnesty was the key for last years team. WE caught a break. Sometimes thats all you need.

Team was a work in progress. I blame dolan for a trade that put two players that are not compatible. They can talk all they want but until they do it on the court its not valid. Amare needed to be back at the 4. The goal was to get a legit 5 to start. At the time, our yoots were still inconsistant and it was hoped they would man up. Gallo has yet live up to his hype that MDA had on him. BUt at that time we still were looking for it.
Did dolan get melo for basketball purpose or fear he'd be a N*T?
The answer is all Subjective anyway. Nobody at MSG talks.
We have the benefit of hindsight 18 months later so its easy to say now Mozzy is no superstar and Gallo is still inconsistent. Amnesty really bailed us out with Tyson!

I'm not disputing anything Oakley said in the article. Just disputing alot of your views of what constitutes "moments" (obviously subjective to you). Like you said, better to be lucky than good sometimes. We caught a break with the Amnesty, Tyson, Linsanity, Birds rights, etc. I don't think Deron is better than Melo at all, he obviously doesn't make anyone on his own team better. He's a very good player, maybe top 2 or 3 PG, but he needs talent around him to win, evidenced by last season's bomb. Melo needs talent to win also, but as far as I know, his teams have always made the playoffs no matter what. The roster, as currently constructed, is made to benefit both Amare and Melo, so it really is make or break this season. Sometimes I agree with your views, most of the times, not. Why must you always bring in Dolan and the Nyets into every thread in some form? I know you're name in Nalod or Dolan spelled backwards, but what is the point of always hammering away your disdain for him? We get it you're nostalgic for the Nets, Long Island, ABA, yadda yadda. What does that have to do with Oakley commenting on this year's version of the Knicks?
