You're sort of right about two things:
1) Prokorov getting props for what he's good at. You need and deserve an owner who has that unique skill set.
2) No one cares if the Nyets win, because they won't.
3) It sucks for them because they already are the lamest hoops franchise in the City. Hands down. Although they might be tied for last with the Liberty.

Maybe we need a thread in the Nets forum about who might (or might not) win a chip before the Nyets:

Charlotte/New Orleans - Hornets (0 appearances)
Indiana - Pacers (1 appearance in NBA: 2000)
New Orleans/Utah - Jazz (2 appearances: 1997-1998)
Toronto - Raptors (0 appearances)

The Russian is mad because his first choice was to purchase the Knicks and Dolan said no. I'm glad Dolan said no.

Why?

Personally I don't have the hate or grudge that a lot of other people have fro Dolan. Dolan has not done anything to me and he's trying to make the team better but will never get credit. He's not perfect but I choose not to spend my time taking shots at him like a lot of haters. I choose to spend my time supporting the Knicks. Again I'm very glad that Dolan turned him down. I know you're trying hard to make people love Prokhorov and the Nyets but I have no interest.

Trouble at Home

"In a town with two football teams, local fans are divided. Turns out the same goes for the team owners and their politics. Basketball in the Big Apple? Similar story. Knicks owner James Dolan contributes to Mitt Romney; Nets co-owner Bruce Ratner gives to Obama.

Speaking of Romney, the teams he might root for don’t necessarily root back. Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, gave $17,900 to Obama and the DNC. Stephen Pagliuca, an owner of the Boston Celtics, gave over $66,000 to Democrats. Pagliuca’s also a managing partner at Bain Capital, which may ring a bell. Owners of the Red Sox and the Bruins show a little more love for the former governor.

Back in New York City, the political rivalry between football and basketball owners doesn't play out in baseball. Mets owner Fred Wilpon gave $2,500 to Mitt Romney. And while the Steinbrenners have been quiet this year, George III was known to give to Republicans.

Earlier this summer we saw that a franchise owner's politics could get people buying or boycotting chicken sandwiches. Could the same happen with season tickets?

We're not betting on it. Sports fandom is one of those sacred, primordial loyalties—a completely irrational allegiance that makes some of us paint our bodies and stand near-naked in sub-freezing temperatures for hours at a time. Finding out your owner plays for the other political team probably won't test your faith nearly as much as a quarterback time-share that's half Tim Tebow, or the cold turkey quitting of Jeremy Lin."

- Stephen Melendez

I wouldn't mind Dolan switching places with the Russian. Just wondering, has Dolan ever promised a championship to the knick fans?

Save the name calling and handle your business on the court. No respect for the new guy in town being blustery to get more press for his team this way. Doesn't jay z wear a knick jersey in a video? NY is a knick city first.

The N*ts are real and a part of many knick conversations.

If you don't want to participate that is your choice.

If you want to cite where I am making arguement in an attempt to influence anyone to like the N*ts then bring it up.
