Knicks are successful.
Its all relative to what the team was bought for.
Prokhorov is doing well with his investment.
Just going by the Forbes measurement not yours.
When you have an owner like Pork that talks a lot of trash, that is not good. He's only been in the league for a very short time and no other owner does that. Pork thinks it's cute but it's not. If anything it's a turn off. He took a shot a Mark Cuban not too long ago re: Deron Williams and boasts "may the best man win Deron Williams" A classy owner does not do that. It's pure arrogance.

1) Prokorov getting props for what he's good at. You need and deserve an owner who has that unique skill set.
2) No one cares if the Nyets win, because they won't.
3) It sucks for them because they already are the lamest hoops franchise in the City. Hands down. Although they might be tied for last with the Liberty.Maybe we need a thread in the Nets forum about who might (or might not) win a chip before the Nyets:
Charlotte/New Orleans - Hornets (0 appearances)
Indiana - Pacers (1 appearance in NBA: 2000)
New Orleans/Utah - Jazz (2 appearances: 1997-1998)
Toronto - Raptors (0 appearances)
Minnesota - Timberwolves (0 appearances)
Cleveland- Cavaliers (1 appearance: 2007)
Vancouver/Memphis - Grizzlies (0 appearances)
Denver - Nuggets (0 appearances)
Orlando - Magic (2 appearances: 1995, 2009)
Phoenix - Suns (2 appearances: 1976, 1993)
San Diego/Los Angeles - Clippers (0 appearances)
We are orginal charter team and we only have two banners.
Lets not pretend we are some thick in legacy team.Im not worried about other teams, Im worried about the Knicks!
Too bad Prokhorov did not buy the knicks!
I think we have the most non-championship winning seasons. Two championship banners are better than the Nyets big fat zero.
Our 64 failed seasons are worse than their 36 (and worse than any other team in league history).
Were you on another Knicks forum desperately trying to make the Nyets relevant?
No
And for the record, you talk about the Nets much more than I do.
You are correct that infinite harps on the Nets. However it does appear that you constantly go out of your way to find stats that portray the Knicks players and organization in a bad light compared to other teams. Technically, 2 & 64 is better percentage than 0 & 36.
The difference is that Inf is being serious and I'm just giving him a hard time.
If I "harp" on the Nyets it's because some people are putting them on a pedestal while putting the Knicks down and you sound like Pork. You're not giving me a hard time at all. So you're not serious about the stats that you've provided? Are they ficticious? Do you just make them up to get even?

Dolan has not been in charge all 64 years so we don't "blame" his reign for all of history. Prokhorov has only owned the N*ts for two years.
I'd say the current ownerships should only be held accountable for the time they owned the team.
I think Dolan wants to win. I just think he lets his emotions drive decisions.
ABA is not the NBA.

Mark Cuban is a basketball junkie who struck it rich via the Dot Com craze and bought a team, living part of the American Dream. He's at most every game and really into his team....to the point of obsession. Proko comes in from frequent jaunts to stealing more capital off the backs of the Russian people and holds press conferences or interviews to make boasts and take jabs in order to garner attention to himself and team. Although both are outspoken owners, there is a large gap in their styles.

Don't you know? Vorohkorp is the Russian corporation that sh!ts gold, buys 2nd class sports franchises, then needles and antagonizes their more established competitors. ![]()
Sometimes by any means necessary!

As far as financially or contractually, you're not really saying saying the Nets are better than the Knicks there are you?
I mean besides the Lakers, the Knicks are the most valued team in the league. Contractually don't make me bring up Joe Johnson!
I don't think you're really helping your argument. Those win totals mean the average Net season is 34-48. The average Knick season is 40-42; only 6 wins better and still under .500. And five more playoff appearances over the course of 35 seasons isn't impressive.
As far as financially and contractually who gives a shit other than the owner? We're the 2nd most valuable team in the league behind the Lakers. If I'm a Bulls fan, Spurs fan, or Celtics fan do I care? Of course not. And contractually? We've been dealing with awful contracts since the Ewing trade. Right now we don't have any but there's a definite chance that Amare's and Tyson's contracts could end up being albatrosses for us.
I don't really see a counter in your statement. Is 1424 wins better than 1208, yes or no? Knicks had a bad run of it for awhile with contracts during the Layden/IT eras. Financially, I was countering Nalod's continued praise and defense of Prok's investment and "successful Brooklyn franchise"? Which franchise do you think is better suited to compete for a Championship contractually right now? Joe Johnson's contract is possibly the worst in all professional team sports.
Amare 17.5 pts.
Both make about 20mm per year. both are the same age.
Johnson has 4 years left, Amare has 3. Johnson has little injury history.
Im not saying Johnson is better. Just saying the contracts suck.
Both teams. Get real.

One's a shooting guard and the other's a power forward. If you want to compare, try Melo against Johnson. Melo's 23.8 pts. That's a better comparison. Melo's contract is still less than Johnson's. ![]()
If you still want to compare them, Johnson has $98 mil left. Amar'e has $65 mil left.

I said Johnson had one more year. Johnson has $89mm left.
I was not comparing, I was equating that both teams have taken big risks with big deals.

Hawks were 40-26 last season. I would expect Johnsons numbers on a good team to not go up that much. I don't know if his numbers were down because he is not as good or his game numbers dropped for the good of the team. I'd prefer Melo's numbers drop if it would help the win total.
Your response was really good. your right, if Amare is healthy he is a better player. His 100mm contract is not insured. His contract from a financial point has a greater potential to be a disaster. I realize money is no object with the "Little Man" but if that was the case Lin should have been retained. He is better than Felton. He took it personal. Petty little man.
You know my point is some of you get really bent out of shape when the knicks get written about with an inaccurate portrait. Are you going to throw up some kind of statement that "i must be a net fan" because I recognize objectively the faults of my team? Ignore the knicks might have some bad contracts? Do we really talk smack about other teams when we are history rich in the same offense many times over?
Hey, we are all excited to see Amare's new toys he added to his game and if the Olympic experience has an effect on Melos game. BTW, for the money Melo is a better player than Johnson.
It all boils down to chemistry for the knicks. The talent is there.

Bingo! They have been working out together. One example is Novak and Felton.
