Fishy,

You're a good dude but this sort of statement is highly subjective cause many would argue that Shumpert is clearly the young gun on this team with the biggest upside.

Action

Given Lins small sample its easy to discount the stats but he put an NBA team on his back and rode it. The Toronto buzzer beater (game was tied) was increidible for a player with his limited experience. He showed a strength of character and clear vision of his clutch gene.

I think his upside as pg with leadership skills and the abilty to perform in the clutch is just not a common trait.

Shump has very nice upside no doubt.

Lin's effectiveness diminished greatly when Mike D'Antoni left. Felton had a down year, was out of shape and put up nearly the same stats as Lin did last year. People are only pissed off because they liked the story. It has nothing to do with basketball.

I would have liked to have seen Dolan match the offer, but I get it. Lin's not going to be as good as Chris Paul in two years so you can't pay him that match, especially in the new CBA.

Felton put up those stats on a horrid Blazer team that was going through the motions. Lin did it playing with Melo, Amare, JR, Novak and helping beat Indy twice back to back

Lin played a grand total of 7 games with both Melo and Amare. Felton for his career has averaged 13 & 6. He had a terrible year last year and still averaged 11 & 6.

You don't get credit for scoring 13 points if it takes you 12 shots to do so. That just means you're hurting your team.

He averaged 10.7 FGA per game last year, lower than his career average of 12.1. That put him at 6th on the team for FGA's per game. His shooting percantage was horrible. Like I said he had a terrible year and still averaged 11 & 6. Next.....

He's never been a high % shooter. Sure helped the Knicks when he was here last.

Felton wanted nate fired because he wasnt getting enough shots which explain the 10.7 average which was the leasr in his career. How many shots did felton take when he finally got nate fired?

After Nate was fired, Felton averaged 12.06 shots per game.

Felton wanted Nate fired because Nate kept changing how he wanted the offense run. At first it's run and gun, then half court sets, then run and gun. This was corroborated by 2 players on the Blazers. The guy became frustrated. Felton played much better once Nate got the boot and finished up the season at 14.2 PG, 7.7 AST, 1.3 STL on 46% shooting and 92% from the line.

They were awful once nate was fired. Remember we beat them by over 40pts. Its easy to pad your stats on a bad team especially when you are looking to get paid in the offseason

Wasn't that Nate's last game?

It was either that game or the next one against Chicago.

Just ranking the off season, not team.

Can't say the clippers were better off season than Knicks by signing Crawford and Grant Hill?

THe intangables seem to matter. If so, our two winning a gold metal and AMare getting married and honeymooning with Hakeem should count too!

Why doesn't any factor in the Lakers lost Bynum?

I keep reading how they "added Nash and Howard" but its like they did not have to make a trade.

Howard if healthy is an upgrade to a healthy Bynum but if not, or HOward got chronic problems it presents a downgrade.

Let the games begin.

This guy's article doesn't hold any weight. He only placed the Knicks at 16 on his list because they allowed Lin to walk away.

Interesting why? We are not intimidated anybody last 40 years.

Cannot understand why the lowly Knicks organization so universaly hated?

Notice when we play other teams in their arenas how many Knicks jerseys are in the crowds? You call that hate?

and that is why a team like the Nyets moved away from the Swamp to Brooklyn. They want some of the love the Knicks get and they want to sell tickets like the Knicks. They try so hard to persuade the fans to show them some love. Win or lose, no team has as many fans all over the world as the New York Knicks. Yes there are some jealous people that hate the Knicks but that's what happens when you're so popular and sell a lot of jerseys.

Cool. Now I am enlightened.
If some team sells a lot of jerseys everybody will hate it.
And teams who win bbal games and chips like Suns, Pistons, Lakers, Dallas are recognized and respected because they do not have square garden which is actually round and sell less jerseys (or are they?).
Seriously Knicks are hated because they have crappy nazy-like ownersheep who disregard fans, media, and make mockery from the game of basketball.
This is the worst run pro club in the world already for 15 years since Jimmy is in charge and there is no end of it in sights.

That's why you're here? Is that why you're on Knicks fan forums?

Well... They get older... more experienced.
So they will play even better... after 40... in old man league.

Knicks fans sure have a short memory span. How quickly they forget about Mobb Deep.

At the height of Mobb Deep, Knicks were able to gain deficit every time they came off the bench. Mobb Deep is officially 'Six Feet Deep.'

Mobb Deep was Shump, Novak, Jeffries, JR and for part of the season Jorts. Take out Jeffries and Jorts and put in Kidd and Camby and I think you have an upgrade. I loved Jeffries last year but he maybe done anyway. Not sure about his health status but in July he was having platelet therapy on his balky knee.
