PG play is the real wildcard IMO. I read that Kidd will be closing out games but I don't know if thats just Kidd talking. Felton said that he was eager to learn from Kidd which is great to hear a vet admit that he isn't a finished product. I wish Stat had felt that way sooner, but better late than never.
You're right about Rondo, I seriously doubt they would have won a title without him. If Felton can take Kidd's lead and look to be a pass first PG, and doesn't call his own number too much we should be in good shape. Prigioni looked good against Team USA and made some really nice passes in traffic. He won't get a lot of minutes unless someone gets hurt but I get the feeling that he is going to surprise some fans.
I think the key to those celtics teams was theor big3 complimented each other perfectly. We cant even get stat and melo together

Allen and Pierce were flawed just like Melo and Stoudemire.
Chandler is flawed too.
KG is not flawed and the best player by far on that team.
You are right as much as I love Chandler his lack of offensive skills is what puts him below KG.
He is not just below KG, he should not be discussed in the same sentence.
they both have a ring and a dpoy.
they definitely can be mentioned together.

The statement that they cannot be mentioned together is the part i disagree with.
defensively they serve the same purpose.
Kg is wayyyy better than tyson...even at his old age. Thats because he has more offense

Kevin Garnett is a former MVP and you could make an argument he should have won another one his first year with Boston (personally, I believe CP3 was MVP that year with KG second). He also single-handedly carried a bunch of terrible Minnesota teams to the playoffs year in and year out. He's also in the conversation for greatest power forward of all time. So no, they can't be mentioned together in the same sentence... unless that sentence is "Kevin Garnett is a much, much better player than Tyson Chandler."

Yeah, I'm a troll because I believe that Tyson Chandler, a very nice player, shouldn't be compared to Kevin Garnett, a first ballot hall of famer and one of the all-time greats.

That was an in agreement post reply to these knuckleheads on here.
Sheesh
Can someone (anyone) please, please, please remove the photographs of Celtics from the UK main page?
The Celtics had three good/great defenders in the starting lineup (Perkins, Garnet and Rondo) and three multiples times All Stars capable of scoring 20ppg (Garnet, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce), I just don’t see how we compare to them at all.
Honestly, I think we are more similar to the old Atlanta Hawks.Felton = Hinrich
Joe Johnson = Melo
Josh Smith = STAT
Al Harford = Chandler
Marvin Williams = JR

Probably somewhere in between. I think we're much better than that Hawks team but not a championship level team. Maybe more like the 2011 or 2012 Celtics.

I still don’t see it; the 2011-2012 Celtics had Garnet and arguably the top defensive point guard in the NBA in Rondo, now the Knicks do have Chandler in the front, however, I don’t think we have the same defensive presence in the backcourt with Felton and JR, may be Shumpert someday (if he doesn’t get traded before).
As far as us being much better than that Atlanta Hawks team, I will wait for the Knicks record to answer that, this season.

Much better is an exaggeration but I think we'll be a little better. I think this team can make it to the conference finals, which I don't think the recent Hawks' teams did.
Window? Knicks have no window. To have a window means the Knicks are a top tier team. Which they are not.

we dont know what they are? Last year injuries were a big problem. This year we have more veterans but i feel we have a identity now

The Hawks won 47 and 53 gms respectively in back-to-back seasons. They advanced to the Semis in back-to-back Playoffs.... Are you saying the Knicks will win more than 45gms this year and next and advance past the Semis?

They are the Knicks. The team with the most pressure on them to win don't know if the players can handle that kind of pressure. As Knicks fans we definitely need to curb our enthusiasm and wish for the best. I already know they aren't winning a chip this year. I don't expect much from the Knicks.
