Sullilnger was a great pick for them. Similar to DeJuan Blair, guys that you know are going to have good nba careers that might be shortened because of a pre-existing condition fall to teams that just want guys they know can play. I still get frustrated when I think of the Hill/Douglas draft. The Knicks could have drafted Jennings and then with the Douglas pick could have taken Blair or Buddinger.

Knicks bothced up a couple drafts....
In 2008 probably shouldn't have drafted Gallo considering the makeup of our team at the time. Didn't acquire any additional picks (could have possibly had De'Andre Jordan) in the same draft when they were selling like hotcakes. Didn't want to move up in the draft because the organization was extremely high on Lee when we could have had Love
Agreed on the 2009 draft I'll also add didn't want to move up because they were extremely high on Chandler although Rubio/Curry were the apple of the organizations eye. Wasn't as high as others on these two guys(both have injury problems in hindsight) but think about the circumstances and team needs at the time and we still have an issue to this day at this position
2010 draft what we should have done is move up into the 1rst round. We had assets in Bill Walker/Douglas 2nd rounders etc etc. Yes we got Fields but where is Fields now?
2011 draft we did well with Shumpert but he's hurt now.
Overall in terms of reaping from the draft since 2008 we haven't done that well. I don't want to hear Gallo got us Melo because acquiring Melo forced us to throw away our future.

Yeah but maybe the McGrady trade is only for a player or a #1 and not the Knicks lotto pick and a basically unprotected #1. If you have Buddinger and Chandler losing one isn't as bad in the melo trade. The Knicks seem to be getting things right recently. The second round picks, free agents and euro players they have brought in have been great pick ups. Hard to believe that the Knicks had 2 players on the sophmore team in the all star game, one that was undrafted and one that was a second round pick.
jeff Green is a fun player to watch, been a fan for years... he is the type of SF this team needs to pair with amare.... he plays a complete game, both ends...

When I thought the Knicks were building around Amare I thought they should go after Iguoudala. Not sure if they were expecting Amare's breakdown and decline but Melo is a better player then both Iggy and Amare. While he doesn't compliment Amare, if the Knicks are looking to change things up they should look to compliment Melo in my opinion.

I just don't get it.. what is melo better than amare at? I think melo fans have a hard time grasping that he is a good scorer, not a great player.....It is hard to build around melo and build a champion IMO.... he is too limited.... he doesn't make enough winning plays on both sides of the ball.. I just don't see many if any player you can add to melo and have a winner... not when you are making him the focal point.... I think this current team as old and as flawed as it is would do itself a great service and move melo.... I would love a jeff green type of guy at SF and upgrade the PG position.....

Jeff Green has looked pretty good so far this preseason, but I still don't get how he got such a big contract this offseason, his agent did an amazing job.

celts are thinking long term with him, their core is getting older and jeff green is a good guy to go forward with along with rondo... he did get paid a nice deal.. considering he missed last year, but i am expecting the celts feel he will play into that deal and be worth the money..

This is exactly what they did.
Replaced GM who is not into Melo-type teams.
Replaced Coach who is not running Melo-type system.
Removed PG who is not willing to run Melo-ball.
Added a bunch of vets to comploment Melo and make him focal point.
Now we are Melo-tam 100%... May be 99% because of Stat can get into his way... so we should get read of Stat ASAP.
We will go as far as melo will take us...

So, if I follow your logic, we threw away our future, which you say shouldn't have been our future anyway. Unless of course you are thinking that Wilson Chandler and Moz should be considered anyone's "future".
The future is now, people. Win or die of old age. Or both.
