What has Mozgov done?
What has Randolph done?
What has Felton done?
What has Corey Brewer done?

I am not fascinated with NBA compost.

Terrence Williams and Jonny Flynn were waived today.

Plenty of underachievers looking for contracts. I'm not shedding a tear.

They were waived? Those are two guys we need to at least take a look at.

We sure do. Melo needs all the young talent and Superstars he can get to help him get over the hump.

is wade, kobe , durant and lebron available?

No, but maybe Gallinari and Mozgov is!

sad thing is, we have nothing to offer denver to get them back....

DOH! We did not draft him. Guess who did?

Lulz

to be clear, in terms of scoring efficiency he's up there at the top among non-centers.

that talent alone does not make him an elite player but it does indicate that he is a very valuable player to have on your team, a moneyball type player.

guys like gallo are what I consider "unique talents"... you get that in rondo, even lin to some degree... these are guys who bring things to the table that not many players do at a pretty high level...

No you won't see them holding the ball, jab stepping to the oldies, or smiling after making a basket and his team down double digits...... no, these guys are most likely not superstars in the sense that most see superstars, but they have real value and bring another dimension to teams that not many guys do....

Gallinari and Lin aren't even in the same sentence as Rondo. Rondo is an iron man and one of the top players at his position. What's amazing is how efficient Rondo is without have a jumper.

Plus Rondo has been getting it done for a few years now even with a hobbled big 3. I doubted him but he has proven he is the real deal.

OH HERE WE GO.. with the player "X" is not in the same sentences as player "Y"...

Again, they all are unique talents bro.... all this other stuff about him not having a jumper, yadada, is what makes him unique..

gallo and lin are pretty unique talents.... like it or not.. they like rondo will need the time to prove how good they are, but they are unique talents nonetheless...

Dude every young player is a unique talent. Spare me.

Jennings, Evans, Cousins, are all unique talents too. At some point you have to put up or shut up.
You seem to have a short memory. Guys like Curry and Crawford also showed flashes when they were Gallo's age.

Flashes don't mean a dam thing if they never progress.

Anthony Randolph is a young talent too. Lulz. I'm still waiting for Beasley to take over. Lulz.

AnubisADL @ 10/22/2012 4:46 PM
Eric Gordon is an undersized SG who signed a max deal.

Eric Gordon's only major issue is he seems injury prone. He hasn't been labeled inconsistent like Chandler and Gallo.

The thing that kills me is that Gallo is hailed as this great shooter yet shoots average FG%. The way people describe Gallo I was expecting A younger Dirk with extended range. That isn't the case.

Money ball if you just look at TS%.

How about win shares? Time on IR? eFG? Assists - 1.7? Rebounds - 4.5?

Its not all about TS

no question his injury history hurts both his value and his progress as a player.

he should be able to get more assists but then again he is not isolating, his usage is still only around 20% (limiting touches means limiting playmaking possibilities r-right?). his rebounds are too low as well. he should be getting closer to 6 a game but then when you see his place on the floor he is usually defending the opponent's best wing player so he is out of position for rebounds, r-right? lets not forget, and this bears repeating-- he is often defending the opponent's best wing player. now, will that change with iguodala there? probably, in which case he should be able to snag 5-6 boards a game this season.

i don't really look at win shares. i think there is such a thing as too many variables in an equation in the game of basketball, the very definition of fluidity.

nope i'd rather make a synthesis of smaller equations with far fewer variables combined with my eyes and experience playing and watching.

It's like dude was preparing for some stunt involving fire, he had like inflammable gear on under his jersey. He's also looks like he's put back on the 12lbs he lost. Interesting Walsh commented about him being in shape. His act is tired, he dresses up for bully ball but cries to the press he doesn't want to play the 4 because it's takes a toll on him night-in and night-out.

Oh and Gallo may be finding his stroke like I said. Last night he was 6-13fg from 3pt range and 9-20 in the game against OKC. His pre-season shooting numbers are pretty decent.

Playing the 4 is stupid for Melo. He can bully opposing SFs with his size. The same doesn't apply for PFs. Plus he would have to guard them on the other end.

Melo is not Lebron.

Melo can play PF effectively because big men can't defend him and he is strong enough to defend most PFs. What Melo needs if Stoudemire is traded is a combo forward who can defend both forward positions and knock down shots. That will be the perfect combo with Melo.

Yup last i checked melo won the player of the month playing the 4 last year. I actually think melo is more dangerous playing the 4 than playing the 3

dk7th @ 10/22/2012 6:03 PM
question for those who have followed melo in college: what position did he play in college that one year he played?

power forward or small forward?

Knicks need to make the hard decision. Build around Melo and make everyone available.

With the new salary cap structure the Knicks are dead in the water with Amare's contract.

LOL.. NO!!!!!! can't rebuild around melo.. I say get rid of both he and amare if you can.. melo to atlanta for josh smith...

get what you can for amare...

time to move on!

Dude why do you hate Melo? Seriously. We know he isn't Lebron but dam. You was slurping Gallinari hard and he has done nothing in the league. Gallinari still is crazy inconsistent and still doesn't show up when it counts.

Yet you somehow believe the Knicks would be better with the old team that took us straight to the lottery for years.

there you go.. .when all else fails attack gallo...

and when does it count man? gallo has been in the league all of 4 years... has melo shown up when it counts? has he?

you are defending melo by trying to point out flaws of other players... not a good way to defend your point... If gallo was flawless that wouldn't make me like carmelo anymore, if gallo was a bum, it still wouldn't change how I feel about carmelo.. so why bring him into the argument?

I have stated many times why I don't like carmelo.... no need to repeat it again...

Dude your entitled to your opinion. I'm just asking because your entire posting style changed after the Melo trade.

Carmelo has flaws in his game yes. Thing is we aren't getting Lebron or Durant to replace him.

Do you seriously believe Denver wouldn't trade us back Chandler and Gallinari for Melo?
Do you think Memphis wouldn't trade us Gay for Melo. Come on man. Melo is the at worse the 3rd best SF in the NBA.

Undoubtedly, yes. I think they'd rather have picks and younger players than $65 mil committed to an aging Melo player who doesn't help his team win games.
gunsnewing @ 10/22/2012 6:35 PM
Yes I can probably play the 4 for the Knicks and beat the Wizards. Something tells me we would struggle against Miami though

and no dissagreement here, I thought beasley was a bozo from day one..

cousins is a very good talent, and maybe a unique talent, but not in the sense I am talking about here..

curry and crawford were unique in a bad way....and I liked crawford...

The starters are not old and there are multiple teams with injured players. It is what it is. It is part of sports. I don't like it but I am not ready to cry doom and gloom over a two to three week Amar'e injury. Get real. You people are "masters of panic" and "knee-jerk kings."
