These PGs are getting paid. WOW. Dude was injured most of last season too.

I can only imagine what Jrue Holiday and Brandon Jennings will get in the open market.

Given his health, its a very fair deal. I wonder if he has an opt out after 3 years?

it better be incentive laden. Dude is made of wet tissue.

AnubisADL @ 10/31/2012 12:56 PM
New CBA. Same bad deals. Just spread across more of the league.

Eric Gordon out INDEFINITELY with right knee issues. WOW.

HIS Talent warrants that, I sure wish we had him. I just love the way he plays the game.. very savy, slick and is also a very good passer as well as shooter... his last healthy year in 2010-2011, he averaged 18/6/4 and shot 48%.. the kid is a legit player.. I hope he stays healthy, I love watching him play..
Swishfm3 @ 10/31/2012 1:37 PM
Whats the point of having all that talent if you cant stay on the court?...Bad contract.

Nothing will change if they hit the open market

You keep saying this but the other two players while they have been healthy, statistically haven't been better than Lawson and Curry. Potentially I'm not sure they're better going forward, maybe Jrue. They'll both probably get paid about the same maybe slightly less. I see 4yrs/$40mil for both. I do not believe other teams will overpay for either point guard.

On extensions, max with same team is 4yrs... so we know if there was an agreement made they're getting the yrs. Now you have to ask yourself what's the likely hood any of these guys get less than $10mil per? Not likely.

What hurts Jennings and Jrue's case is the fact they haven't been offered an extension. Teams are taking notice. While they can lick their lips, so are other teams looking to steal them below market value. The fact there will be other point guards/players in play now and potentially during the summer hurts them even more such as...

Tyreke Evans
Jose Calderon
Shaun Livingston
Chauncy Billups
Jeff Teague
Devin Harris
Josh Selby
Will Bynum
A.J. Price
Eric Maynor
Scott Machado
Jarrett Jack
C.J. Watson
The Draft
Trades

The Bucks nor Sixers have to feel desperate about making an offer hence why they haven't

I know you'll do the typical....Brandon "Broke Jumper Too Difficult To Get Assists" Jennings>>>>>>>>>>>>>my list or Jrue>>>>>>>>>>my list that wouldn't necessarily be the point as even in some cases with players above it's debatable but moreso why break bank on either point guard if their teams don't have to?

The other problem is their agents. IMO it should be an agents job to establish what a team think their player is worth, therefore the ball is in their court to play on and/or play above perceived value or accept offer. Neither player has received an offer not good.

Jennings does himself no favors by trying to speak above receiving an/signing an offer from the Bucks prematurely. Who the heck does he think he is talking about playing in a bigger market then backtracking. He's done nothing remarkable since his 55pt outburst and I mean nothing.

Good for GSW locking Peter Pan up now let's hope his safe is in his ankles. Lawson and Curry after the first yr of their deals since only 3yrs will remain and they'll still be young have moveable deals if it's not working out for whatever reason.

smackeddog @ 10/31/2012 2:50 PM
You'd think all of the ankle injuries would be a warning sign. But teams seem to ignore series red flags- look at Eric Gordon, missed the whole season, gets a max contract and is now out indefinitely while they figure out what's going on with the knee- erm, shouldn't they have done that BEFORE the gave him the contract. Elton Brand got paid despite his serious injury. Even us with Amar'e- why do teams ignore red flags?

Sh*t just got real in Milwaukee.

Jennings the only PG to not get extended.

NumberTwoPencil @ 12/7/2012 2:28 PM
Curry's had a string of nice games recently, maybe five 20/10 (and assorted steals, minimal fouls, etc.) games and some nice wins. For a bit there, it looked like Jackson was considering running the offense through Jack and moving Curry to SG for part of the game. However, it's clear that the team is better when Curry is running things and, well, he's been playing brilliantly recently, making his contract look like a steal for Warriors. And, while Curry is playing some of the better ball of his career, there's room for improvement--his shot is still a little off and his D, while vastly improved, is still developing. Anyway, assuming Curry stays health, he's starting to look like much more like an all-star than, oh, Lawson, Holiday, Evans, or Jennings.

He doesn't like playing in Milwaukee, he would love to go to Big city and ball.

Great signing by the Warriors, Curry is having great year, got him for cheap I think he stays healthy rest of the way, good kid hard worker will drop threes on your head without hesitation, 11 millino per that's Jeremy Lin money, or around there, so that's a great signing.
NumberTwoPencil @ 12/10/2012 7:01 PM
The interesting thing about the Warriors and Curry is that they are winning without Bogut, Rush, Ellis, Udoh, etc. Sure, Klay Thompson and David Lee are starters but arguably there's less talent on the Warriors this year than last year. Jack and Landry are solid contributors and Harrison Barnes and Festus Ezeli are promising rookies but that's about it. The most significant change this year is that the team plays Curry ball the whole game, even if Jack is in. In the past, the Warriors played one way when Ellis ran the team and another when Curry ran the team. This year, they are playing smarter ball, making the extra pass, keeping control of the ball, and so on for most of the game.

Anyone else watch GS take Atlanta apart? Not sure it will last but Curry, Lee, Jack, and Thompson are playing the smartest ball going. I'm half-suspecting it's the coaching. Who are Jax's assistants? The other day Lee said "We got a great scouting report on Miami and we played our game accordingly." It was pretty clear last night that GS knew what Atlanta was going to do better than Atlanta knew. These GS wins ain't all Curry--though without him, they'd be toast.
