Dallas TO
Aldridge buzzer beater
wow. the lakers have it figured out.
The interesting thing about the Lakers....their core is old....Kobe/Nash/Artest/Gasol.....Howard is entering Prime...but
Jordan Hill 2009 lottery draft pick 25yrs (was in the rotation before injury was playing well)...cheap(via trade0
Earl Clark 2009 lottery draft pick 25yrs (wasn't playing until Hill and Gasol got hurt wanted us to draft him badly is playing great)....cheap(via trade)
Jodie Meeks 2009 draft pick 2nd round 25yrs (slowly brought in to the rotation is playing well)....cheap(free agent signing)
Devin E-Banks 2009 draft pick 2nd round 23yrs (not in the rotation....has talent)...cheap(via draft)
Darius Morris 2011 draft pick 2nd round 22yrs (sometimes in the rotation depends on health of guards has talent).....cheap(via draft)
So how does an aging contending(supposedly) team get all this youth on the cheap like this? I guess they keep their assets, make steady draft picks, smart trades, and make decent free agent signings
Ha..First is all, as constructed, their youth line up would be a lottery team..Second, they traded all the picks for Nash and DHow..Free agent signings???..Right now the 2012/13 team salary is 100 mil..Next year 78 mil owed and that's without DHow or any of the youngsters..On the contrary, 2014/15 looks bright..

Come on, stop it..Lakers need to win and win now..Or they are screwed for the next few years...Do they reup Kobe for a couple of years in 2014/15??..Resign DHow??..Nash will be in a wheel chair..

I wouldn't go that far.
Just because they beat the Hornets by 5 points and/or a three game winning streak doesn't mean the Lakers haven't figured anything out. They're a 20-25 basketball team and currently 10th seed of the Western Conference until proven otherwise. A small three game win streak doesn't change all of the above. Still 4 games back of the Rockets for the 8th seed.
But with all that said, I do hope the Lakers make the postseason over the likes of Houston who's only 25-22 as the 8th seed of the Western Conference. As a basketball fan, I can see the Lakers putting up a strong fight against just about any team with Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Ron Artest, Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. The Houston Rockets on the other hand? I can't see James Harden leading this team to the playoffs let alone out of the first round. Just not enough help surrounding Harden.
But yea, at 20-25 overall while being the 10th seed of the Western Conference and/or 18th amongst all NBA teams (standings wise); I wouldn't say they've figured anything out.

O.K, so what's your point? They're still 20-25 overall, 10th place of the Western Conference and still 4 games back of the 8th seed.
The Lakers beat OKC? Congrats to them. Not to go off topic here but our Knicks have beaten the Heat twice along with the Spurs twice.
But once again, the Lakers are on a three game win streak (OKC, UTAH & New Orleans). Big deal. Say hello to 20-25 overall, 5 games below .500, 10th seed of the Western Conference and only 3.5 games ahead of the Kings for the 13th seed of the West (only ahead of Phoenix and New Orleans).
That's reality...
No need to get hostile just pointing a fact out

Wasn't hostile at all. Was only pointing out 'more facts'.

It's not surprising but it is amazing that Harden has led this group of young players to a .530 record in the west.
I was just thinking how tough the West is. Lakers got to leapfrog like 3 teams just to get the 8th seed. I can see them getting the 8th and Houston falling out. Then we see OKC-Lakers 1st round

seriously now...the West isnt that tough. I wish fans on this site would stop overrating that conference.
btw...DC beat OKC last week and Minnesota a couple of weeks before that....does that mean they have figured it out as well?
Regardless, I also hope LA makes the playoffs because I think they would put up a bigger fight than Houston or Utah as a 8 or 7 seed and, as much I dislike MDA, I kind of feel bad for him and I want to see him succeed..........a little.

MDA did good work with some our yoots. Lin, Lando, Extra-e, Novak, Jorts, etc..........Puts them in situations to succeed. Role players of course.
Maybe once MDA figured out who plays the supporting roles it comes together? No camp, break the princeton offense out of the team and install his plays, scheme, defensive set up (if there is one)all while under intense microscope, huge contracts and veteran egos. Fans want instant gratification and media gains view's by fueling the negative buzz.

WHAT Do the knicks have to do with the lakers? They are making an observation about the lakers recent good play... and they are playing better..
