Celtics up 2 with ball 26secs nbatv

Amazing how the Celtics anouncers are such homers. They complain about every call that goes against the Celtics no matter how right it is. Then the Celtics flop and not a word.

Man I appreciate Breen more than ever now!

LOL, how is homerism never a good thing? What is this, it-takes-a-village-to-raise-a-team communist fan-bs??!!
3G4G @ 2/3/2013 3:53 PM
The refs actually called a personal foul against Lebron on Ruday Gay....everyone jot this date down it may never happen again for the rest of his career.

Yet still a zillion times better than haterism. I read a post by a particularly enthusiastic Knick fan who may be high on Kool aid and it causes no negative effects on anyone. I read post after post criticising every player, every game, every aspect of the team regardless of how they're doing and drains some of the enjoyment out of following the team.

Not sure what's wrong with homerism on a website dedicated to that team who's slogan is 'pure knicks love'...

Hate that is not accurate is he same as fables. Both take great liberties and stretch the truth.

its a thin line between love and hate...........

The truth will found on the court, not sold as propaganda!

True Nalod let's take a step back though....The Celtics were playing the Clippers not us right? So if homerism is a good anecdote why would we be taking issue with a Celtic announcer backing his team playing a game he's calling regardless of what's taking place in the game?

Now if it was against us I could see how it could be a little more edgy under the skin type of thing but it's not only a franchise he's employed by, not only a game he's actually calling, he actually played for the franchise and won Chips there. HOFer of that franchise, what else would anyone expect especially when TH has been doing this since before he was born?

Still I don't care if it's the Celtics/Knicks/Heat/Clippers/Hornets, homerism in a color commentating world particularly cheats actual factuals.

Like I was rooting for the Ravens yesterday in the SB huge fan of that team but I saw some questionable stuff in the game yesterday. At least 2 legit non called pass interferences. It's okay to want the home team to win but not without completely earning/deserving it.

See 3G4G, I think that's why we don't see eye to eye with our posts- you see yourself and being objective and speaking the truth, where as I see you as being negatively biased. It's all a matter of perspective and perception I suppose. Be honest though, don't you see how you might sometimes cross the line and maybe be a bit overly critical?

Great post. I usually enjoy the game threads a lot. Recently I just shut it down because it was all negative. The worst part was the Knicks won, some guys were playing really well. It can be hard to take. I don't use the ignore feature because I enjoy the dialogue but for the first time in 9 years posting here I am considering it.
gunsnewing @ 2/4/2013 1:04 PM
Pure knicks love does not mean being complete homers or trolls. There are other boards for that. Ive been here for 11yrs because I enjoy intelligent debate.

I am not going to cry over a handful of polarizing members

Knicksfan @ 2/4/2013 1:21 PM
Isn't variety good?

You can have some homerism, add a little dose of haterade, mix it with sarcasm, some team dancers pics and have a completely sane forum, right?

If things polarize, either way, things get boring.
