Don't worry about the $$$, it is Dolans, a billionaire. The PG position is important and it would have been (or be) nice to have gotten a better one and have Felton as our backup. We are trying to win a championship, not save money in a small market. (And Lin, by all accounts, would have come close to paying for his salary).
I'm not worried about the money, just the flexibility of our front office...Ain't my money...Well Lin isn't running any PG spot anytime soon in the playoffs...Lin is an NBA player and deserves a spot on a roster..However, many here would have him as the next coming which clearly he isn't...I too, would love Felton to be a backup, but reality must and should be embraced..We had no other option...Felton was the best available PG, even over Lin...If CP3 forces his way out of LA to come to the Knicks, I would drive the dude cross country to get him in a Knick uni..But, this scenario isn't likely is it...Lin is garbage, just another dude trying to maintain his job in the NBA...

For some perspective, to this point in the season, Lin is playing much better than Felton (on offense and defense) and their team is humming (albeit not a championship caliber team, but still.) I don't think Lin is a great PG at this time, but he is 4 years younger than Felton, playing better, and has improved quite a bit this season. I think we can safely say, Felton is playing worse now (as he has done before with the hot starts).
We are capped out, we have no flexibility. As a matter of fact, we'd be better off with Lin and over the cap than without Lin and over the cap. At least then we would have had an asset and nice expiring.
If we get Paul then we are the champion. I would be a reborn Knicks fan if we somehow pulled that off... I am excited about the draft, maybe we get lucky. We have passed so many good PG's that if it is close regarding BPA and a PG is one of them, I say we go PG.

Not worth your time. Even on a Knicks forum, most fans recognized that Houston has a brighter future than we do in the recent poll. You're not going to convert the few others. Just wait for reality to hit them.

Chandler Parsons is a baller isn't he?
I know who you are referring to but I think it will Parsons that saves them from themselves, i.e., spending money on another star to put along side Harden. Now all they have to do is find a PF and I like Lin but I would get a pg in the draft.
They also need to bring in some defenders.

Well, Portland and Houston are close record wise. I really like Portlands PG from the little I've seen and for a rookie! (stat wise, sorry, haven't seen him play much). I think Houston has some pretty high IQ guys on the team - Parsons, Lin and Harden all seem to have a good grasp of things. Harden forces things a bit, but perhaps he is backing off with the emergence of Parsons? Not sure if I'd say the same for Portlands guys, but I need to watch them play more.
Even great up and comers like Parsons and Illiard, it takes a few years to really see what they got. And then team chemistry really is where it's at. I mean look at how terrible Sacramento has been, but they have some talent. I really think some of those guys got to the younguns there.
What I would like for this team is just to have a young guy we can watch grow. Would love a championship, but it is also fun to raise a great player yourself.

You seem pretty insistent on calling Lin a bad PG but announcers and quite a few people who watch him play think he is doing quite well. I mean this is the guys 2nd year of play and he is just 24???
Felton and Lin's stats are close, but watching Lin play he has a much better feel for the game. Felton is great handling the ball and has a pretty good game with Chandler, when Feltons shot is falling, which is a big if.
For a young team, Houston with Lin as the PG is playing very very well and I would'n't give all the credit to Harden. Remember, before the season started how bad they were supposed to be? But but they got harden. But but, Parsons is stepping up... ETC.
I still like our team, but can't say I take Felton over Lin, regardless of salary and it isn't close.

Yeah because we all saw the point guard who is so much better than Lin Punt The Ball to Westbrook "down the stretch" which in essence kinda cost us the game. Apparently you missed the sick dime Lin had to Asik and the repeated drives to the hoop frustrating Bogut to no end but keep hating....
