I agree about their lack of defense, it's one of the main reasons I said they can't go all the way.
Although that series was always going to be a high scoring one since both teams are very young and energetic and both teams play at a high pace.
Normaly in high pace games you don't really need a superstar to score for you that often per say, because the game is much more open in general.
But when you're facing a more than average defensive team (which in most cases also means a slower tempo to the game), that's when you realise how important a superstar can be.
A healthy Faried would have helped - maybe enough to make a difference. They're starting 4 guards. I'd like to see them do a twin tower lineup with Koufos and McGee but I'm sure Karl won't do that.

they gave up 131 pts to the GSW that didn't involve OT, they started for guards but manage only 10 fast break pts..

Don't act as if Golden State defense was any better. This series is simply who can out score the other team. Whoever shots are falling will win. Simple.

Dude I know what George Karl is. Great regular season coach, lousy playoff coach. I still remember when he got Mutombo'ed in the 1st round after winning 63 games:

I wasn't able to watch the game, but it looks like of those 4, Iggy is a more than capable SF, and Wilson is a natural forward, who even played some PF for us in NY. Meanwhile, McGee is certainly available to play more minutes off the bench while they try and ease Faried back in (along with our other favorites - Anthony Magic Randolph and the Russian Hammer.

Maybe they're SG/SF combo players. All the websites list them as SGs. That's where they spend most of their minutes. They're both wing players. You definitely don't want either of them to be one of your two bigs.

Great teams have great players. Payton is HOF.
Lots of very good coach's over the last 20 years lie in the path of Phil Jax, Pop, and Riles. These guys have most of them.

It's a regular season award. You can get swept in the 1st round and it doesn't affect the regular season awards.

I obviously don't watch him as much after the trade, but I didn't mind going small with Wilson at the 4 in NY. The whole point is that Denver does have size they can turn to. They just tried to match GS by playing small ball, and the Warriors came out on top with their 3 guards + Barnes.
On a side note, as a Knick fan, would have been fun to see both a healthy Gallo and healthy Lee meet in the playoffs. Hope for speedy recoveries for both of them.

Playa was right on one point, Mark Jackson has out-coached him so far...The zone has stiffled the Nuggs for several mins in each game, inserting Jack into the starting lineup was a great move and I still cant get over Karls comments between the 3rd and 4th Q. The Warriors juts hung 97 pts on your team entering the 4th, and Karl says, "We need to run more and hit more 3's." SMH
No one said Denver played or was coached well. Playa made a very specific criticism (about being hurt because of lacking a superstar) that doesn't seem to fit with what actually happened on the court.

it really depends on what kind of superstar they had. Maybe if they had one that played D and wad a zone breaker. Maybe that Superstar gets them 132 points against that small line up.
Who really cares. What matters is if Denver wins the series then all the talk will slow down.
