What is a chest contusion?
A person with a chest contusion has a bruise to the chest wall. The bruise may involve the skin, ribs, or muscles of the chest wall. A more severe chest contusion may cause bleeding in the underlying muscle and subcutaneous tissues, resulting in a chest hematoma.
Like I said, a chest contusion is a bruise. You claimed it was some sort of tear which it is NOT. The definition you posted uses the word BRUISE twice while not once making mention of a tear or tore or whatever it is that you previously claimed a contusion is.
LoL!
You're somewhat of a numbskull...
What happens is the muscles in the chest area are hit with so much force they separate or tear not from the bone but the tissues themselves, separate causing contusion/bruising....
The tearing of the muscle can also damage small blood vessels, causing local bleeding (bruising) and pain (caused by irritation of the nerve endings in the area).
BTW, in the game against Indiana where we were trying to clinch the 2nd seed, Melo left and didn't return because of a shoulder contusion
Actually, he was set to return once it got close, but then Woody waved him back once the Knicks had it under control.

Maybe Lin wanted to play too. Who knows?

Doesn't matter, x rays were negative so no tears or structural damage whatsoever. More pain threshold than anything.
If I'm McHale, I don't dare put Lin back in the series anyways, Patrick Beverley with Aaron Brooks backing him up is the best shot they got at winning a game or two.
No muscle tears found on Lin but 3G4G will still claim a contusion is a muscle tear... LMAO!
I never claimed he actually had a contusion...It was reported that's what he had. Obviously he doesn't have a contusion.
Contusions can be very painful and greatly limit range of motion depending on their severity. I have no issue with Lin not coming back in the game. I don't see why this is a big deal.

Nah, he said he couldn't run due to pain.
Meanwhile Kobe Bryant, whom I hate but respect, drains 2 free throws after his Achilles tendon is torn the phuck off. That's toughness!

Lin has a CONTUSION or bruised chest. A contusion however is not a torn muscle. A contusion is caused by impacts that lead to bleeding / swelling under the skin. However, no tear is involved. Muscle tears are diagnosed as muscle tears not contusions. LoL!

Nah, just former Knicks that can't play when they say they're "85%" and you see other athletes play through much more.

I did not take notes on who said what with the Rose injury discussion. Did you approve of Rose not coming back this season and the playoffs?
I really wish this board was not so enamored with ex-Knicks versus current Knicks. I have all the respect in the world for the ex-Knicks (Wilson, Lee, Douglas, Gallo, Lin, Mozgov, etc.) and wish them all success. I just don't get why this is such a point of contention on this board. It is baffling to me.

Big difference with torn ACL/MCL and a little meniscus injury. Ask Metta World Peace.

No he has a Boo-Boo like you said..if he has a contusion vessels muscle tissues have been torn/separated/split/stressed/strained...you're thinking of tears from the bone, I'm not. Just because X-Rays were negative doesn't mean anything.
Either he had a serious enough injury to be taken out of the game or he didn't.
I had a my thigh hit head on in a flag football game and I felt impact to the bone. My muscle tissue split I experienced swelling/bruising/bleeding, a contusion... but there was no serious structural damage.

Rose should be playing. My guess is that Bulls management has held him out to avoid paying his salary for the current season...
Also, I bet Lin thought that 85% number was a safe number indicating there is a chance to play but not really and not thinking that some/most fans and talking heads will question is desire, pain tolerance and manhood.

That's a pretty high number, considering Pablo Prigioni just said he's only about 75% to 80% on his ankle sprain.

I am in the Riley way of thinking. You are either injured or hurt. If you are hurt then you play. If you are injured then you sit. Injured to me is if you are not able to perform to an acceptable level due to some damage to your body. Lin tried to comeback out after halftime and he could not lift his arm over his shoulder. That tells me he is injured. He has played with severely sprained ankles this year and has not missed a game. I don't think his manhood should be questioned with this injury. Also, he got this injury going after a loose ball going full speed. Lin hate really baffles me.
TeamBall wrote:Bonn1997 wrote:That doesn't sound as bad as Amare missing a full playoff game because he had a stitch in his hand.
Was that really necessary?
It's always necessary. This amounts to "being fair" to these guys.

True. So his biggest sin is not knowing what percentage to give for his assessment. He should have just said 50% or maybe that is still too high for some folks.

Seriously wth are are guys arguing about. Felton has outplayed Lin in the postseason thus far and for that i am grateful.
I think people need to stop questioning Lin for not playing in the Miami series down 3-0 and just coming off knee surgery. Made no sense at the time and it makes no sense now. Anyone still using that against Lin is just trying to make themselves feel better about losing him for nothing
Just to be fair. Ragging o Lin is no different than ragging on Lee wilson and gallo just cos they are former knicks. Just be happy with where the team is now. We clearly won the Melo trade and felton is producing in his role in the playoffs
