I'm really impressed (but not surprised) with Durant's level of play without Westbrook. Obviously Derek Fisher and Reggie Jackson can't replace Westbrook though. I doubt OKC even pushes it to 7.
the moment it was announced Westbrook was out for the playoffs I knew 2 things.
1) OKC wasn't going anywhere (past the 1st round at best)
and
2) Durant is gonna put up monster numbers, because aside from him and Martin off the bench, OKC has no offense what-so-ever.
Phil done coaching. No surprise there. He wants to run a team.
It will be interesting where he lands. SAC stays in Sac but will get some local owners. Phil is expensive. Hanson in Seattle was was going to hire him. I doubt Sterling would take Phil on although its compelling and he gets to stay with Jeannie.
Detroit? Just consulting from what Im reading.
Prokhorov's got the coin to make it happen. Question is how bad does he want to work, how much time will he spend in BKN when he does, and how much impact can he really have? Sometimes these guys just cash in their reputations in a money grab.

3) Durant puts up monster numbers anyway
4)Ibaka is a guy who can get them points.
5) don't be surprised to see okc in the finals again.

As I said before, if you are a good efficient player, it really doesn't matter who you play with for the most part....
And I would not be surprised to see OKC advance, it is going to be tough tho..

yea, it would have been better for him to go 10-35 smh
Not sure why you fight this, but efficient teams win, efficient players win.. humans need to breath air to live, fish need water, it is the way things are....
conely had an efficient stat line and got the "W" one efficient player beating another.. no surprise there... but had conley shot 10-35, I doubt they win....
put on your big boy pants and stop trying to convince yourself that 2+2=5
Conley is really blossoming into an elite pg. Dude is super quick and relentless going to the hole....

Durant is obsessed with his stats. Team needed him to step up and he didnt.
Reality check time. Memphis owned OKC yesterday.
OKC barely won game 1.
Considering Durant is in Lebron land he should be able to carry OKC over Memphis into the WCF's. He doesn't need Westbrook cus he's KEVIN DURANT the 2nd best player in the association.

Hahaha that made me laugh hard for some reason!
Everyone loves putting KD on a pedestal. Whether it's his stats, his lack of tattoo arm and neck sleeves, or his Mama's boy demeanor.
All I know if in the oft chance Melo and the Knicks were to face off against Durantula and OKC, it wouldn't be pretty for that choir boy(Melo's teams have won 11 of 12 against Durant).

DURANT is obsessed with being the best he can be.. his team won game one.. lost game two to a very good team...
what is the problem with that? I honestly don't see a point here...
Team needed him to step up and he didnt.
really, you went there? LOL

you talking about facing OKC...heck deal with indiana first.... 10-35 shooting is not going to beat anyone....

only listened to the game for the most part.
looking at the statline i noticed that okc had 19 turnovers which memphis converted to 29 points.
it's so important to take care of the ball. indiana had 21 turnovers that the knicks converted into 32 points.
i just don't get the contempt for efficiency especially since we need melo to be efficient if we are going to win anything of significance. why only last night he put up 57.6TS which is near an elite level-- not quite but very close.

That has led us to a 62% winning percentage in the playoffs thus far.

it is simple Dk, typical homerism.. as I said which is never good when talking objectively.... Never have I seen a fanbase look down on efficiency to defend a player.. NEVER.... really odd..
we know winning involves more than just being efficient, but make no mistake, over the course of history those who take the most shots and shoot at an efficient rate seem to be those that have come out on top.. now you can point to some exceptions, but those guys were also good defenders and, or passers... but when all you do is shoot, you should be pretty efficient at it, or else you tend to hurt your team, especially when you are taking a lions share of the shots....
I also agree, it is important to take care of the ball, the pacers pointed that out, they needed to take care of the ball and they didn't.. plain and simple... protect the ball, play efficiently, defend and you stand a good chance to win most of your games.. isn't that the goal? I just don't get the contempt for efficiency either..
