2/13 in the fourth q and overtime
Durant has not been efficient in the 4th when it matters. If he cares about finishing second he has to fix this.
Charles Barkley making excuses for Durant.

SMH. Memphis wearing him down.....
Paul George hounding Melo doesnt wear Melo down?
David West banging with Melo on the defensive end doesnt wear Melo down?
Roy Hibbert contesting everything at the rim doesnt wear Melo down?
Gimme a break.
Dunno what game you watched but Durant looked pretty good to me. Yes, Brooks deserves some blame, OKC's game plan was iffy (and too Durant oriented, perhaps), but Durant was the best player on the floor. No?

I was being facetious.

How inefficient- if I was the Thunder, I'd trade him for Gallo...
Memphis with Lionel Hollins as head coach is going to the Finals, no way G.State or Spurs beat them in 7 game series.

Sadly, that would be an improvement for Melo.
Obviously Durant's human though. His shooting was bizarre - 5 for 7 from 3 point range and 5 for 20 from 2 point range. He did get 7 rbs and 7 assists, though.
Who knew the consensus #2 player in the world was an inefficient chucker? Oh well, there's always next year KD.

Well, what did you expect? Durant doesn't have the supporting cast now to...oh wait, we can't use that line of logic...
Well, what did you expect? Durant's coach is a loser and...oh wait, we can't use that line of logic, either...
Well, what did you expect? Durant...ummm...
Durant has shot almost 50% with Westbrook out (90 for 185). You know he had occasional bad shooting nights when Westbrook was healthy too, right?
By Elias Sports BureauKevin Durant was 2-for-8 from the field in the fourth quarter and then 0-for-5 in overtime in the Oklahoma City Thunder's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. Durant was the first NBA player in five years to miss at least 11 field-goal attempts after the third quarter in a postseason game. Kobe Bryant was an identical 2-for-13 in the fourth quarter and overtime in a Los Angeles Lakers' loss to the Utah Jazz during the 2008 playoffs.
That's some good chucking right there!
durant has a 59.4TS% which does not hurt his team and is an elite scoring stat.
his usage rate to his assist rate is basically 1:1 which is basically what a scoring point guard puts up. players with a similar ratio are walt frazier, dwyane wade, paul pierce, and larry bird. so he is facilitating and trying to make others around him better.
5.2 assists and 7.5 rebounds is not quite larry bird or lebron james territory-- it's closer to pierce-- but is still a very balanced statline.
i don't see where there is any room for tearing the guy down unless you want to tear down frazier, wade, pierce, and bird.

So when the team wins it's because of Durant. When they lose it's because of everyone else.
Got it.
Durant choked at the line and disappeared offensively when his team needed him.
Damn, I really wanted a OKC/GSW finals. But this just shows that no matter how good or efficient a player maybe, he need a consistent #2 guy, not someone who has a 50/50 chance of having a good night. My guess is that this will make people appreciate westbrook more.

good point bonn.. it is just sad how some will try to discredit durant in order to defend carmelo. even more sad that they just can't let carmelo be judged on his own merit... I think they are scared at what they really might find..
Durant is great, and with or without Westbrook, they could be down 3-1 still... the grizzlies are a good team, very good team with no "star" or " go to guy" supposedly.... they can beat anyone and have been a very good team all year..
Series is not over and Durant has been playing well, as long as he keeps playing well the thunder have a chance to win every game..

A bit unfair to say this, in my opinion. Durant has been used to put down Melo so I think thats pretty much the only reason some are taking shots at him now.
I 100% agree with your points about the Grizz though. Love watching them play.

At the same time this proves Memphis has the better TEAM but not the best STAR.....Put a great TEAM together you can beat the STAR....
Gotta Have DAT STAR STAR STAR STAR STAR STAR STAR STAR STAR STAR STAR STAR......at least that's what we've been told.....
The series isn't over yet....
Funny thing is O.J. Mayo was supposed to be the next Kobe he was gonna be DAT STAR in Memphis supposedly 1-2 punch with GAY. Memphis said faghettaboudit we have just as good a chance reaching the WCF and/or Finals without either of you....
One has to be very cautious who you deem a STAR/SUPERSTAR...there are maybe only 3 in this league at best.

I think we know where this is coming from.. LOL.. Durant is a great player, and what seems to be a classy guy.... tearing him down isn't going to bring him down another level, and it isn't going to raise the level of your favorite player, especially if he is playing like crap.... the shots being taken at Durant are absolutely ridiculous on every level... especially since he is playing very well...

Actually it was the other way around Durant was being stamped down in efforts to prop up Melo....It's been going on for some time now.
