When Danny Granger said the Pacers were the 2nd best team in the East next to the Heat....Fits Of Rage developed....Now we're complaining about Tyson Chandler getting slapped silly by Hibbert down 2-1 and it's his fault along with the Motley Crue of Geriatrics but not Melo?
So supposedly no matter what moves we made, unless we brought Melo here we were going to be a perpetual lottery team....but then it can be said when it's time to rebuild and possibly move on without Melo we'll be fine and won't have to suffer perpetual lottery...

Heck we could have hung on to David Lee for less mula and still been in the Melo hunt not in case Amar'e signed in New Jersey. Oh and while still having the flexibility to trade Gallo/Chandler/Fields/Douglas and whatever assets we had in the fold. You can't run an organization with shortsightedness because as TKF says...."TOMORROW IS GONNA COME"....Which supports my earlier statement....

I was never not of the mindset Gallo/Chandler/Moz/AR couldn't be traded but I wanted low risk high reward type of trades always leaving room for flexibility.
This team since acquiring Melo and Chandler have been nothing remarkably better than the team prior to. If you factor coaching change and no constant rumor of trades then who knows.
I do not want to shrink a team's competitive life cycle to a 2yr window, while capping the heck out of it, and throwing away all assets.
Okay you guys hated Gallo to no end, guess he wasn't a major favorite of mine, I had him in the mix of many trades. Here's the thing we knew he had value in this league and he always had room to grow as a player. Therefore while we maintained our level of overall improved team play in comparison to prior yrs maybe in time he improves his league value. Yes he's been brittle as has Chandler but if you put them on the market now considering all of their injury history I'd wager they'd bring back more to a team than say Amar'e right now.
My examples of player combinations were simply examples they weren't absolutes.
But yes I'd take Josh Smith @ $13mil and O.J. Mayo @ $4mil over $20mil of Carmelo all day every day 100000000 out of 1. Because $17mil for 2 players is better than $20mil for 1 player. If Melo was on the market today isn't this the package he pretty much gets traded for?
For the record I'd take $13mil of Josh Smith and $4mil of O.J. Mayo over $10mil of Gallo and $6mil of Chandler and $3mil of Moz....because the other package is cheaper and probably better in talent.

he didn't say that, but funny thing, building around carmelo has gotten us a geriatric crew according to most around here..

You know he had occasional bad shooting nights when Westbrook was healthy too, right?good point bonn.. it is just sad how some will try to discredit durant in order to defend carmelo. even more sad that they just can't let carmelo be judged on his own merit... I think they are scared at what they really might find..
Durant is great, and with or without Westbrook, they could be down 3-1 still... the grizzlies are a good team, very good team with no "star" or " go to guy" supposedly.... they can beat anyone and have been a very good team all year..
Series is not over and Durant has been playing well, as long as he keeps playing well the thunder have a chance to win every game..
This post is a prime example of why you lose some credibility when discussing Melo. In defense of Durant, you make sure to point out that Durant is playing well eventhough he is still losing. Not only that, but you atcually take to the time to acknowledge the opponent and why they are beating the Thunder. When you knock Melo for his playoff record in Denver, you hardly ever mention that he was losing to the Spurs and Lakers and that his teams didn't have homecourt advantage nor a chance in h*% to win. You very black-n-white when discussing Melo is my point....
fIRST OF all you are in no position to determine who loses credibility.. LOL.. it is simple.. carmelo over his career has been a pretty subpar playoff performer... plain and simple.. the numbers support that, as does his record...
but you atcually take to the time to acknowledge the opponent and why they are beating the Thunder. When you knock Melo for his playoff record in Denver, you hardly ever mention that he was losing to the Spurs and Lakers and that his teams didn't have homecourt advantage nor a chance in h*% to win. You very black-n-white when discussing Melo is my point....sure I do and here is why.. Durant is actually worth the discussion. here is a guy playing at an elite level, posters in here are taking shots at him as if he is shooting 10-35.. but he is not only shooting well, he is rebounding, defending and passing well.. He is just playing well.. so I had to note that he is not losing games, but getting beat..
CARMELO on the other hand has had a history including now it seems of laying playoff eggs...so there is no need to highlight how good the other team is or who he is playing, because when you play bad, you can lose to anyone... and you can't blame your teamates or lack there of, especially when you are the main culprit..
Durant has been to the finals, he has shown the ability to deliver... there should be no argument here...
And what about the losses to the clippers and jazz when carmelo's team had the home court advantage? it just wasn't the lakers and spurs bro....
At this point I am more black and white with carmelo because his ocean of excuses have run dry...it is clear with him, and more so than others why he has not had playoff success.. very clear....
Correction....The Clips had homecourt advantage in '06 and was the better team that year. I agree that the Nuggs shouldn't have lost to the Jazz, but Melo did average a playoff career high of 31pts, on 46% FG not to mention 8 rbs and 3 ast. So, he hasn't always laid eggs as you suggest.
my point was they played non- powerhouse teams, do you mean to tell me that the clippers with NO STAR were favored to beat the nuggets and their "mighty star" carmelo? is that what you are saying?
and I didn't say he always laid eggs, he layed layed eggs most of the time.... great players usually rise to the occasion.. that is he rule for them, not the exception..

Mayo over $10mil of Gallo and $6mil of Chandler and $3mil of Moz....because the other package is cheaper and probably better in talent.
oh and I'm keeping my picks in the process

You do? It seemed more like you support one-third or one-fourth of the team - Melo, Iman, JR, and Felton. I can't remember you ever defending someone else.

If Melo can wait by Greyhounds after games..... surely he can perform better in the playoffs when it matters!
Why does Melo need a 32yr old Billups to be successful at this stage in his career?
When Danny Granger said the Pacers were the 2nd best team in the East next to the Heat....Fits Of Rage developed....Now we're complaining about Tyson Chandler getting slapped silly by Hibbert down 2-1 and it's his fault along with the Motley Crue of Geriatrics but not Melo?
So supposedly no matter what moves we made, unless we brought Melo here we were going to be a perpetual lottery team....but then it can be said when it's time to rebuild and possibly move on without Melo we'll be fine and won't have to suffer perpetual lottery...
ROTFLOL....TROLOL.....LOLMNOP!!!!U have zero cred..U wanted to build around Gallo...
Nope sure didn't I was actually not too high on Gallo and thought he was slightly overrated. That's been well documented. Although I would have had no problem keeping him to see if he developed more.
So your creed drops for not following arguments closely, heck I dropped a clue in this very recent discussion about not keeping Gallo. Funny how some of you get when his name is mentioned....U admitted earlier that u wanted to add pieces around Gallo...According to you, u also support no one..But Im sure that would be different if we knew what your previous screen name was...

Chandler and Gallo needed the same help and we had resources to get them help, without crippling our future or financial flexibility.
This is more a statement of observation and reflection than anything else. It's not saying build around Chandler and GalloI then went on to say...
I'm a build the team methodically guy without swinging and whiffing for the fences 75% at batsAnd Gallo history well documented....Here's exhibit Z-913-File Flexibility....

I think that might be the one trend that doesnt catch on. Tyson, Westbrook, and Wade are gonna be the only ones.

Tyson???...Has gotten attacked only last game because he has been abuse by Hibbert...For the most part Tyson has gotten a pass all year while Melo and JR has been abused...Novak has gotten a pass all year..Kidd has been terrible and there may have been one or two threads started to address his ineffective play...Prigs???..Really..Prigs and Kidd has been getting credit for Melo and Felton's play all year...U have called Chandler MVP, Kidd MVP this year...I have defended Amare as well if u are really keeping score...Agguemnts with Knickshot can attest to that...
But none of those guys get the scrutiny of Melo, JR, Felton and Woody...All who has had a greater role in our success..
