Im really impressed with dantonis lakers vs this stacked clips team. I think theyll overachieve (until kobe returns).
His system is good for taking marginal talent and putting them into a position to achieve. Meeks, farmar and henry look like stars tonite. Why? Cuz the ball keeps moving
I doubt this will continue when kobe and isoball returns (thats not a knock on kobe just diff styles)

You're right this is a perfect roster for MDA. He's great with low level players and a couple of good players mixed in. Mainly just players that listen and play team ball. I think they're gonna be better than some people think.
Maybe it will work with Kobe. This system isn't so bad for a guy that wants shots cuz they'll play fast enough to get all the shots they want. Last year they couldn't play this fast cuz of D12. Kobe can get to sit and watch for a while and if they're playing well maybe that might have some effect on his thinking. Don't forget that Kobe was having several high assist games last year so he's capable of moving the ball. Kobe avg'd 6 assists last year.

Yeah Henry looked great again -- He's been ballin' ever since they brought him in, right throughout the pre-season.
Xavier henry was once a #1 prospect coming out of HS. Nice game but he needs to develop his right hand

Not a single foul called against Hibbert or Paul George. I hate this manufactured BS...
I still think Lance Stephenson is a dangerous player- not sure why a couple of posters made out I was ridiculous for saying he killed us in the playoffs. Put up 19pt, 7rebs and 5 assists in tonights game. Put up some good numbers in the preseason too.
That Bulls/Heat game was a big disappointment- Bulls looked awful and were rattled right from the start. What happened to their composure?
smackeddog wrote:Why didn't Cope play?
Cuz he signed with the wrong team who doesnt play his style
smackeddog wrote:Why didn't Cope play?
Not sure. They played Orlando jones and Solomon hill. Scola also looked really good.

Agree. Watched this game last night and couldn't believe some of the things Hibbert was getting away with.
wow just saw espn on the tv and,
d'antoni has arrived!!!!!!!!!!!

There's some semblance of order here, though. Beverley's a better shooter and defender, and that's what they need in the starting unit. Meanwhile, they need someone to run pick and roll and handle the ball off the bench. But $8 million per year for a backup point? Sounds problematic. And it's only going to increase the calls that Lin is a disappointment after his run in New York. If the Rockets shop Lin, they're going to need to take some unappealing assets back due to the over $16 million owed this season and next.

It's the gimmick system Danphoney runs.
He knows what NBA players don't like to do on defense, so he designed his offense by attacking that .It's the style of play that makes foreign teams in the olympics look good against American pro players. This is all he did.
"Not a knock to anybody that played there, but
this can work as long as everybody buys in. Until Kobe gets back, that's what needs to happen. Minus Nick Young, we don't have a guy that can go get a bucket on his own. We have to
play basketball the way it's supposed to be played. I think we'll be all right as long as we handle our business on the defensive end."
Farmar has long been cognizant of D'Antoni's stat-friendly scheme. It's partly why he gave up millions while playing in Turkey to return to the Lakers after a three-year hiatus for $1.1 million.
"I love Mike D'Antoni," Farmar said. "His basketball mind is really sharp. The whole staff, they really know basketball. They're positive and supportive. That energy is just going to carry us."
^first quote is Kaman second is Farmar,
I think the clippers and doc rivers are overrated

i was NEVER a Dantoni fan while he was here. my main beef with him was on defense. However, when his offense was clicking it was a beauty to watch. he damn near turned ray felton and duhon into allstars. however, it doesnt work with isolation-volume shooters that have all star reps...itll be interesting to see what happens when kobe returns

i hope kobe takes his time,
how awesome would it be to watch a d'antoni team drop buckets for a ton of wins again?!

at the 7 min mark, MDA took a time out, with the lakers down 4 or 2, the camera flash to the lakers huddle and you here MDA say "IF WE'RE GOING TO PLAY SMALL THEN THERES NO WAY WE CAN PLAY SLOW" he bench nash and pau and then the bench went on a 17-4 run. no iso's
