oohhh oohh

raises hands horshack style. (from welcome back kotter)

i think their ceiling is pretty high. very enjoyable and dramatic game. i think once ak47 works himself back into game shape he should be the first guy off the bench... unless lopez cannot stay out of foul trouble in which case it has to be blatche-- who didn't look too bad.

interesting that jvg wondered whether they would gel. i mean of course it is a question for many teams each year but i don't see how this team won't gel-- and when they do they are going to be truly formidable. amazingly, only pierce played more than 27 minutes! i think his minutes will go down too once kirilenko is back all the way.

shawn livingston made a nice strong move to the hoop last night and I was like, wow, haven't seen that in a while from him.... they are deep and talented.....

truth be told i have only a vague recollection of him but you're right he looked pretty darn good out there. thing is with any among pierce or garnett or kirlenko out there with him, he won't have the burden of having to orchestrate. i did not take mental notes of who among those three was out there with livingston last night but i think this should be kidd's approach.

i know you don't get YES network where you are but on the YES network after the game it was really kind of cool to hear garnett talk about the game and his teammate pierce, whom garnett referred to as "a picasso out there on the floor."

i have had my doubts about whether joe johnson would buy in but he also looked veerrry comfortable out there.

I get the yes postgame with directv, but I am dropping them again for dish.. anyway..... the thing with pierce and Garnett they bring credibility to the nets, a winning vibe, a professional approach. I don't think the nets problem will be meshing, but injuries and age... but they seem to have enough depth and youth, so it should be interesting to follow all year..

well if they take the "no more than 27 minutes" approach like they demonstrated last night with some of these players then you have to think they are going to beat the odds of age-related injury. imagine if woodson took that approach with kidd last year.

South Philly just knocked of Derrick Rose and the Bulls 107-104.

Team ball rules the NBA NOW.

Didn't watch the game, MCW's box score looks impressive again. Not suprised by Evan Turner given his contract situation, but MCW is looking more polished that I thought. This trade isn't looking nearly as lopsided as everyone thought.

I love team ball. It is hard to defend because you never know who will get the shot.

A couple of things about Kidd. He is older and was older then the guys you are referring to. He has a problem with alcohol so he isn't the healthiest guy around. A friend of mine has been friends with Jason and his family since he was 13. He said that Jason told him that it took him two hours before he could move much after games in the preseason. He also said that Jason totaled an alumni's car because he was drunk in college but it was covered up. I don't know Pierce, Garnett or Terry and I don't have friends that know them but Kidd ran his course. He also had a great run after having micro fracture surgery. Also, Kidd averaged 27 minutes a game last year. I think if you want a true picture of Kidd look at his minutes pre Felton's broken fingers. He had games over 27 minutes occasionally but that increased with Felton being out. Also, remember that the guy just signed a 3 year deal and was one year removed from playing almost 2700 minutes.

So anyone else glad we never ended up getting Steve Nash? Looks like he's done and is battling a list of chronic injuries. The rumors at the time were that we were mulling trading Shump for him. Thank f*** we didn't!

In all seriousness though I hope the trend continues. Much more fun brand of basketball to watch.

I'm not that bothered who scores, I prefer watching defense. Great defense is a beautiful, beautiful thing- don't know why its branded as ugly and boring.

I'm sure a massacre by a very good, young team wouldn't be boring

It wasn't really a massacre- I only watched the condensed game on league pass, but the Jazz were leading for a lot of the first half, then the rockets took over- pulled away at the end. Harden and Dwight had quiet games. Lin was efficient, and Parsons carried the team early. I was actually looking forward to the game, but I left kind of disappointed- Rockets were a bit flat in the first half. They did well to win by 10 as they were clearly on autopilot. Then again, it must be hard to get psyched up to play the Jazz!

Yeah I think that's what happened as well. When I tuned in, the game was close in the 4th and then the Rockets pulled away. Not a massacre really.

I'm saying the 2nd half was a massacre.

I'm always up for some good defense as well but on the offensive side specifically I prefer watching unselfish teams. Great watching a bunch of guys play as one unit.

Are the Heat suffering from complacency? Just a feeling I get watching them. Maybe they are not taking the 3peat for granted.

I thought Westbrook was out the 1st 2 weeks? I see he is playing tonight.

Kidd came to coach the nets against Orlando and get the business and beaten by 21 pts. Welcome to the association J.Kidd as head coach. LOL
