Who cares if its a brutal defensive game?

You want Amare in there so we can be down 46-26?

The 90's knicks were often brutal to watch but they made the opponent look more brutal.

I don't think this has been a good defensive game. I think both teams are just playing like shit offensively.

The game I'm watching is showing pretty solid knicks D

Pacers have gotten multiple open shots throughout the first half and missed. Knicks d has tightened up the last minute or two though.

Solid not great. I'm seeing a ton of missed open jumpers.

The Knicks defense will be fine with Amar'e. Amar'e will provide consistent interior scoring and gets to the line. Amar'e will also get around 9ish boards a game which is important since the Knicks have struggled on the boards. I am pretty sure the Knicks could stomach Amar'e on defense if Novak is getting minutes out there and mostly shooting below expectations the last few games...

Anyone claiming this team is better without Amar'e is clueless.

Are you talking about a healthy Amare?

Pipe dream.

Might be time to wave the white flag at some point, no?

My expectation is for him to play until the news indicates otherwise. The reality is that this team is substantially better with Amar'e (starting or off bench).

I do agree that he could be helpful off the bench (if he gets back his deadly J - which would require healthier legs)

Ugly offense but solid D. Hopefully we put our feet on their throats in the 2nd and win this one by 20.

The double teaming and interior D has been excellent. They are forcing Indiana to beat them with jumpers and its not working because they are missing.

Its all about in game adjustments. The more missing, the harder and more aggressive the double teams down low will get.

Good job Woody!

Nice D by Kidd.

holding a teami to 30 even when they are missing shots is good defense

Camby - 4 rebounds in 5 minutes!

When Rasheed and Camby both sit, we are an awful rebounding team.

It is not great d if a team is consistently missing wide open shots. Pacers are just shooting like crap. A lead is a lead. I will take it either way. I am just saying the D has not been great and the Knicks look weak on the boards again.

Was about to say the same. I watch games from the perspective of a coach (I coach MS girls) and I can tell you the Knicks are playing better than solid on the Defensive end. The Knicks are doubling the post with the weakside perimeter players and are daring the Pacers to beat them with jumpers. That is what you call a GAME PLAN. Its worked thus far, but if the Pacers start connecting then the coach ahs to adjust. But so far, the plan is working.

They are horrible on the boards! 27th in the league - with our center at 36th in the league in rebounds per 48.

I didn't say we were playing bad defense just that we weren't playing great defense. Not to the extent that Indy is shooting 26% with 30 points. It's a combination of solid defense on our part and missed jumpers on their part.

There was a point when Camby, Wallace and Brewer were in the game - it was like a brick wall. And, we got every damn rebound.

Woody's adjusted at the start - West was abusing Melo and if it continued, Melo would have gotten into serious foul trouble. Like you said, the weakside help on West and Hibbert was a really nice adjustment.

But I think the knicks completely disrupted their rhythem.
