Sounds like another month. This team needs his penetration moves into the paint. We don't have a guard on the roster that can break a team down like that. Pablo will do it, but pass it out when he gets an open layup. Felton is more aggressive at scoring, which opens the floor for others. His main problem is that he tries too hard to take over the scoring load whenever Melo is out. This team really needs a healthy Felton if we plan on moving forward.
No way. Time table was 4-6 weeks. Late Jan makes it 4 weeks. He said he plans on playing late Jan

Raymond Felton Out “At Least Another Month?”
“AMAR’E STOUDEMIRE WILL NEED MORE TIME GETTING HIS RHYTHM BACK. TWO BIGS, RASHEED WALLACE AND MARCUS CAMBY, ARE STUCK IN THE TRAINER’S ROOM. AND WITH RAYMOND FELTON GONE FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER MONTH, THEY ARE LIKELY TO DEVOLVE INTO A BORING, ISOLATION TEAM AGAIN.”
Alan Hahn @alanhahn
“@_Lou_E: @alanhahn when is Felton expected back?” Ray is aiming for end of January. Has to get his cardio back first.

I hope he's been working out and keeping in shape as best he can while he's been out- you can still do a lot of cardio stuff with a broken pinky. Looking forward to seeing him and Amar'e working the pick and roll again.

I hope Felton does not revert back to being way out of shape. This team needs him.
not like he's in the habit of being out of shape. He admitted the end of the lock out caught him by surprise and if you remember, it caught a lot of guys by surprise. Being out of shape once in his whole career, people shouldn't look at it or fear that it will be the norm.

Kidd at the point is not good for us at all..Felton has been playing with a big time chip on his shoulder so i expect him to come back sharp and ready for the 2nd half of the season..

Not at all?
Really?
Not even a little bit?
He gets burned by speedy guards, can't penetrate, i just think he's much more effective at the 2g..

Kidd is effective as a combo guard that rebounds, gets a few steals and assists and spots up for threes. Kidd is not capable of playing solid man to man defense nor is he able to penetrate. This has been obvious all year and why I laughed when people claimed Kidd is the teams MVP and Felton sucks. Kidd is a good support player but far from the team MVP.
Knicks1248 - Jason Kidd is a valuable asset who is only pressed into extra minutes, and expanded role at the point, due to injury. Managing the backcourt is not a solo job.
Patience
Praise the Lord, Fat Felton on schedule to be back Jan. 26th!

Raymond Felton, who's recovering from a fractured right pinkie suffered on Christmas Day against the Lakers, told reporters in London he's looking to return Jan. 26 in Philadelphia. "They're not letting me play when we first get back (to New York)," he said on Wednesday. "I am trying to get them to have me play in Boston (on Jan. 24), but it looks like Philly in Philly. We don't know if it's totally healed. We need one more X-ray, but it's pretty much healed."
He will be back on the the 24th vs Boston. What is 2 days when he is already rushing back
I miss Raymond Felton.
During the offseason over on realgm, I had created a thread in regards to 'which player we're most looking forward to here in 2012-2013' and my choice was Raymond Felton. Before Felton injured his hand? He was balling lights out.
Can't wait for the return(s) of both Shumpert and Felton.
I wouldn't go that far. He was still a chucker - just much less bad at it. All of his other stats were average or a little above average though and he was helping the team.

Since you state such as "fact's" as if you "know" everything around here... Answer these questions please. Lets stop with the one line fillers ala "his stats were average". Let's add some insight.
A.) Which game (team) did Felton injured?
B.) At the time of Felton's injury, what were his overall shooting percentage, points per game, assists per game and turnovers per game?
I know the answer too. Had post's about it. Just trying to see if you, yourself personally, know all of the above. Because lets face it, you've stated his stats were average? When in reality 1997, his stats were pretty much top tier in regards to PG's. Borderline All-Star production.
C.) Our record.
Peace out. I'll be waiting for a response, and hopefully not a one line filler either.

A) Don't remember or care.
B) Don't remember off-hand. I posted his career #s earlier compared to the average PG because the large (career) sample is likely to be more predictive of future play than any dozen or so games you want me to look at.
C) If I remember right, we started 18-5, people started getting injured and we lost 3 out of 5, and then Felton went down and we continued losing. No one's saying he's not helping the team though. You can be a little below average and still be important to your team.
I don't know why people are so defensive about this. He's paid what you'd pay a competent but below average PG and that's what he is.
Is what I don't get is this...
How can one state that "all of Felton's "other stats" "were average", when in actual reality, he doesn't care enough to remember off hand to begin with?
Sounds like a one line filler with zero insight what so ever. To consider the overall numbers of Felton before his first hand injury as being "average" is truthfully clueless as clueless comes in regards to PG evaluation.

there's a reason he was given only 2 years by walsh at a very low salary. there's a reason he gets traded so often.
maybe you can explain what that reason is.
8 million dollars is a very low salary, or is that a fact you decided to fling out your ass to see if it stuck???
And Feltons only been traded twice in his career. LOL
May bad, I guess the sign and trade counts as three, even though it's more of a free agency loop hole.

I posted the #s earlier in the thread. I assumed you would either remember them or be capable of going back and searching put but I may have been giving you too much credit.
Average PG vs. Felton
TS%: .526 vs. .495
FG%: 43.0 vs. 41.1
Assist/TO ratio: 2.52 vs. 2.56
Rbs per 48 min: 4.8 vs. 4.6
Blk per 48 min: 0.3 vs. 0.3
Stls per 48 min: 1.8 vs. 2.0
Note that that is the average PG, not the average starting PG. So it includes bench guys playing for the league min.
You probably aren't but if you are interested in well validated sabermetrics, here you go:
Wins produced: .100 vs. .074
Win shares: .100 vs. .066

not for nothing but he has been listed as a sg his first season. something to think about when assessing his point guard play.
so ar as sign and trade stop playing games. the guy has been "moved" four times and no doubt will be moved from new york in the foreseeable future-- guaranteed.
1) charlotte to new york
2) new york to denver
3) denver to portland
4) portland to new york
i will root for the knicks to win and win big time but i don't see felton as instrumental in this. some poster has recently postulated that he "fits in with the team's objectives perfectly." LOL at such nonsense. yes he is a scrapper but his cardinal flaw is that he does not play within his limitations and always tries to outplay superior point guards to validate his worth. i promise you that this will hurt the team once we get past the first round.
