Knicks · Does Anyone Appreciate How Well Raymond Felton Is Playing? (page 5)

"When Carmelo started getting double teamed we gotta make them pay."

15 and 6 assists in 30 minutes. 5/6 from three point range. Only one turnover.

Happy to see Ray shooting his set shots with confidence..
VCoug @ 11/20/2012 10:58 PM
He only shot 8 times tonight which tied him with Sheed for the 4th most attempts in the game. This is exactly how we need Felton to be playing if we're going to succeed.

Felton played 30 minutes tonight and is averaging 32.6 mpg for the season. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch the game because League Pass sucks but, from what I can tell, he looked to get others involved instead of shooting himself. If Felton averages 10 shots or less per game for the rest of the season and Amare comes off the bench to solidify our 2nd unit I really like our chances.

Anji @ 11/20/2012 11:09 PM
He didn't have to shoot tonight because Melo was in Beast mode.

Some nights like the Spurs game we need him to be aggressive and keep the team a float. Everybody can't be Rondo.

If he took 10 less shots tonight he would be at -2...But it's always a good idea to see the games before rendering an opinion..

You want to be an ass? Fine. Learn to read stupid, I didn't say he should be taking 10 less shots per game I said he should take less than 10 shots per game. You should work on getting your reading comprehension above a grade school level next time.

If he's having a good night shooting the ball fine, he can take as many shots as he wants. I never have a problem with a guy shooting when he's hot. But, when he's 9-23 or 5-15 he needs to stop looking for his own shot and work on getting others involved more.

gunsnewing @ 11/20/2012 11:16 PM
He was 5-8. All makes were 3's

Felton is a liar and doesn't know what he's talking about. According to some on this board, Melo doesn't get double teamed because he aint elite....

Raymond Felton plays one of his best games of the season and the self-appointed Shot Police want to step in, sight unseen, and re-legislate how he should play?

Gimme a break.

This is so pathetic that it is nearly laughable in its outright bitterness. Raymond Felton, like any shooter, commands the freedom to find his level. It will not always be acceptable by The Queens Rules of Order, but it will always be tenacious and humanly flawed. We dug that about John Starks and we will dig that about Ray Felton. The diference, Felton will NOT shoot us out of games because his head is always up. He is seeing the floor very well these days. 6 assists. one turnover. One.

The Knicks need a third scorer among the starters. Ronnie Brewer continues to make shots. Tyson Chandler is used sparingly. That will improve with reps in the same way Felton built a connection with Stoudemire after a few rocky weeks together. The scoring that Felton provided tonight was timely and in the game flow. He hit the open shots.

He also led the team to another win.

I read it perfectly fine..It's silly that u think Felton should take 5 shots per game...Was it you who was questioning whether Felton should be benched after game 3 for Prigs???...Your agenda is obvious..

You know what, I don't even know why I bother coming around here. I try and praise Felton for having a good game and say that I hope he continues to play like he did tonight and the fucking self-appointed fan police get on my case anyway.

I thinks it's your respone to guns that got the attention, also it's Your opinion, others may not agree with what it..No biggie no 2pac

felton is playing smart efficient ball for the most part this season..he's picking his spots very well and managing the game, with a guy like kidd by your side..

DJMUSIC @ 11/20/2012 11:58 PM
I appreciate it,

I'd love Lin to stay but I was confident Felton coming back would help the Knicks
over the greedy Jeremy Lin endeavors($25-28 mil)

mrKnickShot @ 11/21/2012 12:18 AM
5 for 8?

This is the Felton that I love.

NYKMentality @ 11/21/2012 3:31 AM
Ray: 15.4 points, 6.4 assists and 2.1 turnovers per game. A FG% of .441%. A starting PG record of 8-1.
Lin: 10.5 points, 6.6 assists and 2.6 turnovers per game. A FG% of .342%. A starting PF record of 4-7.

If this early season trend continues, the argument will be over. The discussion of Lin vs. Felton will no longer be a topic of discussion.

I've loved the upgrade of Felton over Lin from day one. We're a win now type of team with a (battle tested) veteran PG in Felton running our offense. We had no room for a Jeremy Lin type who's learning the game of NBA basketball on the fly. Felton supporters have a big time advantage over Lin supporters as of right now, for many of reasons too. The fact that Lin's contract is more than double Felton's contract makes this current discussion a big time victory in regards to Felton supporters and/or our franchise being able to improve our roster moving forward. J.R Smith getting locked up long term comes to mind.

The one where I used the box score to show he shot 8 times in 30 minutes? All I said was that I thought he played a really good game even though I wasn't able to watch. I compared it to the other games this season, when I was able to watch, and said this is how I'd like Felton to play the rest of the season.

You cannot see the fire in Raymond Felton's eyes from a box score.

Not can a box score describe him fighting over a pick. In one defensive sequence he held his ground and damn near knocked te much bigger Lopez to the floor.

Yeah, we are tough.

ChuckBuck @ 11/21/2012 9:56 AM
Numbers don't do Felton justice.

Just like total punch stats don't show "Ring Generalship" in boxing.
