I thought JR and Novack killed us tonite.
How did J.R. Smith kill us when he shot 5-13fg and hit some big buckets late to help us come back?

THIS is why it does matter that the refs are not giving Melo fouls when he's clearly being abused. No other star player can get so much as a finger nail on their body and not get a foul call, but Melo? You have to damn near kill him to get a call. It's just not right. It's been going on for years now since he's been here. It's like being a Knicks automatically allows teams to kill our star players at will.
Melo has developed the Bully Ball reputation you don't think that follows him as a player?
Well not a great game for us but yet another exciting game...Hope we are mad for Friday's game...
melo played a good game he got screwed by the refs. I mean first that terrible offensive foul call even though carter was still moving. then melo gets nearly decapittated by kaman and no call. Thats bullshit

yes it was exciting but when you lose it hurts bigtime
Can't believe we gave Novak 4 years...

I can understand the non call on Marion's block..that block was clean..but that offensive call was ridiculous.

at Felton money and double JR money

Novak is in a slump but he will get out of it. I do think sometimes Woody has to gauge when it's a Novak kind of game. He did good with adjusting to Prigs and knowing when he needs to be benched so Ihave full faith he will make the adjustments. In Woody we Trust.

Carter would not leave him alone..He can't get off his own shot and the NBA now knows..He just kills us defensively...This won't last much longer..

there this thing called defense that he nor our other perimeter players could play tonight. Even Chandler struggled when he switched. The team as a whole played horrible D.

When tkf said he wasn't that good he got roasted here.
When I questioned why we rushed to sign him to this type of deal considering we are paying Tax on his salary it was met with but Novak is DDC.
Hey at least he got the contract done quietly without a circus.
Novak told us during the summer he spent time working on his 2pt shot well thus far on the season 57fGA total with 47FGA(3pt). Whatever you say Novak

Dat TS% wasn't right Dawg!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thought he played out of control and wasn't focused on defense, but you can't read that in a box score. Have to actually watch the games.

So now we're killing Novak? Dude is a role player and sometimes role players go thru slumps. We also haven't actually run any plays to help get him open either. We had some very nice pick plays to get him off and we rarely ever use them. That's a coaching thing.
As for this idea that Melo has a rep for bully ball, WTF does that have to do with refs making bad calls or no calls when it's right in front of them. As I said before the Knicks need to send tapes to the league in order to make a point about this. At the very least Woody has to do a better job protecting his star by working the refs more and maybe going to the press about it like Riley and PJax have done in the past. You have to draw attention to it.

It's not a slump...He has never been able to hit a shot with people on him...Miami showed that in the playoffs..It was the case last year and is the case this year...He just didn't get much of a window to shoot and when that happens we know the result..Slump is when he has done it before...
as if it isn't bad enough. The premier of Steve Novak beginnings is starting on MSG at midnight
I knew the game was going to get bad when Kaman traveled and fell to the ground and got the timeout call. Its so sad that Melo clearly restrained from driving to the lane on his last shot because he knew he wouldnt get the call. Also, does anyone else notice that the games we have had so far reffed by Tony Brothers always turn out bad?
Mavs got up for us tonight...Not sure if it's because of Kidd and Chandler returning or just all the hype surrounding the Knicks and their record...We have to adjust and understand people are getting up for us..Seond night of a back to back..Not everyone has their legs yet...We are 8-2..Onward!!!
Tony Brothers and Ed Malloy = satan personified
The Anti-Melo campaign by the refs is getting concerning. I get they are calling it closer but Melo is taking shots to the head and still no call. He goes in the lane fine and comes back out with his headband crooked.

I used to think they were just missing the calls but now its obviously blatant. That Carter call was as obvious a call as ive seen in a while. Not only did he dangerously slip under Melo in mid-air, he was in the restricted area too!
I do have a problem with the last play though. Why run out the clock when we're down? And then why not draw up an actual play for a good shot instead of an iso for Melo?
