NBA · OT: NYETS FIRE AVERY (page 4)

Were they not 11-4?

Crazy how fast that all turned around.

Trade for Wallace is pretty good. It was the 8th pick and Lilliard is great pick but with Deron, JJ and Marshon they needed a SF Melo stopper (in theory, cuz nobody stopping melo).

Phil in BKN? Not ready made for a chip but its a good gig. Problem is its in Brooklyn!

Not to offend, but there is a reason one of 7 has ties to brooklyn, its cuz they left.

Very strange how after Billy King held his press conference Avery followed at the podium and implied that the Owner wanted him fired. Proko must be in Russia. Imagine Dolan allowing Larry Brown to have his press conference instead of the curbside getaway video we got!!
Syniko @ 12/27/2012 4:57 PM
Deron Williams is a God damn clown. Phil Jackson ain't stupid enough to pick up the scraps left behind by Avery.
playa2 @ 12/27/2012 5:01 PM
My opinion is Deron Williams can't play for old skool coaches, Avery Johnson isn't a bad coach , just a bad fit with Deron. Nets next coach will probably be a offensive coach. What people need to think about is every player can't handle the enticement and temptation of the night life in NYC. Team started off well, but once the players knew where all the hot spots were they lost focus. NYC isn't for every professional athlete.

Nice move by Nets to let Avery leave with some dignity.

There must be some serious discord beyond Deron for him to be dismissed.

ON paper they are better than .500. They falter You can bet Billy Kings ass is next!

The russian don't phuch around.

gunsnewing @ 12/27/2012 5:04 PM
King should've been fired the 2nd he traded for Wallace and took the Nyers right out of the Howard sweepstakes. Howard is a wuss just not as much of a wuss as Lopez

It's too bad D'Antoni took the LA job, he would've had his type of players in BK.

MDA is perfect where he is. DWILL is a loud mouthed Diva. No class at all.

Sounds like another team we know?

The Knicks? Knicks are right there with Miami at 21-8

Not saying we are like he Nets, but I am not convinced we can beat Miami in the playoffs especially with increased wear and tear on our high mileage treads. Personally I can't wait for Shumpert to come back. But even with that our offense would be very limited and predictable, but I am hopefule Woody will find a way to integarte Amare - we really need both guys to play well to inject some life into this team.

Brooklyn Nets.... A certain dude by the name of Mike Brown needs a job. Mike Brown and Mike Woodson. The Potato Head twins.

ha that would be funny!

Mike Dunleavy is from Brooklyn

another one down...

David Aldridge ‏@daldridgetnt
Phil Jackson's longtime representative, Todd Musburger, tells me via text that Jackson "has no interest in the Nets' job at this time."

The expectations were way to high for this team. We didn't even have a losing record.... Didn't even give my dad a full season. #OUTRAGE

I'm sorry are best players couldn't make open shots. Yeah that's my dads fault totally...

I agree with this 100%, the expectations were ridiculous (partly thanks to charles barkley) this was a lottery team last season with primarily the same team, Adding Joe and some talented but suspect role players, what the hell do they expect..Npw there considered CONTENDERS, gimme a fkn break buddy..

Deron is not a leader, and plays like he doesn't want be there, im sure he will be traded

Do you really see any chemistry btwn that team..

playa2 @ 12/27/2012 5:52 PM
The Brooklyn Nets will hire a guy like, drum Roll please ............. Nate Mcmillian
playa2 @ 12/27/2012 6:01 PM
MT @ChrisMannixSI: In an email to Sports Illustrated, Stan Van Gundy says he has "no interest at all" in the Nets' head coaching job
Syniko @ 12/27/2012 6:04 PM

Phil Jackson also said he's not interested. LOL.
cooch2584 @ 12/27/2012 6:09 PM
OKOKOK tell me how messed up it would be if the nyets hired PATRICK EWING as their coach. Just crossed my mind and the russian would give him an OUTRAGEOUS CONTRACT.

I NEVER LIKED HIM....

One thing is for sure the Nyets better get a big name coach because it would be an embarrassment if they wind up starting over with Mike Brown. If thats the case they should just give PJ the job. He will have them push the ball and get in Deron's face. Until Deron chokes him

PJ is not interested. He has already been reached out in the media and he flat out said 'NO' but I understand where you're coming from. They'll need to bring in a big name coach.

Who else is available with a bigger name than Phil Jackson? Brooklyn Net is going nowhere this season. I wouldn't be surprised if they go south in the rankings.

Silverfuel @ 12/27/2012 7:49 PM
They should have realized that the Nets had an easier schedule in November than in December. Unreal!
