You did take something away from the Knicks, but you forgot something....

The Spurs just got swept.

If a team wants to go big we can start Camby with Tyson. Go small? We can bring three gifted guards at once.

Wanna have a three point shooting contest?

I don't think so.

A game of horse?

Mr. Smith got that covered.

We have an answer for everything.

No no no, that's why I said 'not to take anything away..' because I'm not taking anything away

Hell of a slam dunk

Spurs are tough cookies to crack, glad we could stick it to them

Prediction: Knicks Spurs finals, rematch, Knicks in 7

Just sayin', it won't always be this easy, I'm a big Spurs fan

No, no, no, you said "but", IronWillGround.

Sorry we beat the sheehit out of your Pop-rested/Stern-fined team. Let me see, did

Timmy play? Check.

Tony play? Check.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. Lets listen in on Pops in the huddle: "Okay fellas, we just beat the N*yets by thirty, but lets lose to the Knicks by 20. I'll show that stupid mish who runs this effing league!"

Jrod, thats some funny stuff you posted.

no question the key for this team is to emphasize defense first. this game should catalyze the knicks and propel them to a first or second seed in the east. we HAVE TO be a first or second seed where the odds of making the ecf are in our favor. third seed the odds start working against us.

the knicks should have beaten the spurs last night because the spurs had to have been tired. the spurs tried desperately to crawl back in by the end of the first half and you kind of sensed that this was their last gasp for the night. they predictably unraveled once their energy disappeared.

knicks looked great being merciless.

But the announcer was saying how the spurs have such a deep team and great bench.Where was their bench? Also steven jackson is dumb ass for tripping lol

They do. Their bench almost beat Miami in Miami

Guns, I know they have a good bench but iron is coming up with all kinds of excuses.

I think this is bullshit.
There are far too many injuries occuring to players due to other people being on the floor very near the play when they shouldn't be there.
Do something, move the people back a little and give players some extra space, atleast then whatever injuries happen to them it's actually during open play on the court between players, not between a player and a cameraman/steward.

Why is it when our team has 3 games in 5 nites or 4 games in 6 nites that SOME POSTERS jump all over them and cant use"being tired" as an excuse but when its other teams its "We shoulda won this game anyway?" Answer me that answer man.

the regular season has too many games and the schedule all too often is going to be brutal on all players, starting or bench, old and young. even athletes in tremendous shape are going to wear out playing 4 games in 5 nights.

fortunately playoff formats are far less condensed, allowing teams proper rest. this is surely what popovich has in mind, being the ultimate regular-season sandbagger. he made an empty effort to play his main guys so as to avoid censure from stern but it was clear he knows his team and their ability to compete. when he saw it was fruitless to do so he rested his main guys.

popovich is clever-- looking at the boxscore you have to laugh: duncan 24 minutes, ginobili 24 minutes, parker 24 minutes.

smackeddog @ 1/4/2013 11:59 AM
A great, much needed win and a nice reminder as to how good this team can be. We need to build on it now if we're serious about getting a top eastern conference seeding (Heat are ahead, Hawks are just behind us, and the Bulls and pacers are within striking distance of us)

i am not a mindreader but i look at the empirical evidence and the history and reach a conclusion. that said, i will correct myself: ginobili actually averages 24 minutes as it is this year. duncan 30 minutes, and parker 32 minutes.

the spurs are the best-coached team in the league and never play down to the competition, winning the games they should win. even so, popovich is willing to sacrifice several games a season because he is always angling for his team being fresh come the real season. he has that luxury having coached his teams to 4 titles.

So the players were all on track to meet the avg if the game didn't get out of hand.

A. Cooch, The Answer Man is still trying to figure out who wrote the book of love. There is only one explanation. Popovich threw the game.

yes.

ChuckBuck @ 1/4/2013 1:02 PM
Rest schmest, Spurs had a 7 game win streak going, no way they wanted to throw the game.

It was a 20 point blowout with no signs of the Knicks letting up, that's why Popovich conceded defeat.

The Knicks forced the (tired and aging)Spurs to quit, by blitzing them hard early in the 4th quarter. Nothing to do the schedule, or 4 games in 5 nights, etc. You play to win the game, no excuses.

Thanks Gustav. Credit Woodson for knowing Popovich's tendency to pull out the white flag in 4th quarters of back to backs if the game gets out of hand. No doubt, he gave this little tidbit to his troops before the start of the 4th, and boy did they respond.

This just in from the Somberistic Real Bed Time Stories Wire Service:

Several sources now contend that this win and the two against the Miami Hate are nothing more than a league-wide conspiracy to enable the Knicks to get swept in the first round of the playoffs after getting the #1 seed.

And it will be all Melo's fault.

He will break JR's spirit by making fun of the quality of his tats.
He will ensure Tyson gets swine flu for the last three months of the season.
He will keep putting vodka in JKidd's gatorade.
He will smirk when Shump can barely touch the rim during rehab before the playoffs. He will then orchestrate a Shump trade to the Rockets.
He will force everyone at MSG to draw clown tears on their faces in order to further alienate Stat.
He will spot Novak's heavy weight lifting program until Novak can no longer hit the broadside of Dolan's azz with a beachball from two feet.
He will call Immigrant services and get Prigs deported.
He will have Cope's agent convince him that life would be better in the Lebanese league. Right now.

Don't worry realists, there's no light at the end of the tunnel!
