Knicks · feltons shattered pinky (page 1)

knicks1248 @ 1/22/2013 9:26 PM
Raymond Felton said there's a "big chance" he'll play Saturday in Philadelphia. He also said if he breaks his right pinkie again, he'll miss at least two months.

Felton, who fractured his pinkie on Christmas Day, was cleared Tuesday to dribble, shoot, pass and receive passes without wearing a brace.

"Basically, I can use my right hand again," Felton said.

He hasn't been cleared for contact and practice, but he could be by Friday. If all goes well, it's unclear whether Felton's return will be Saturday, Sunday in Atlanta or next week. The Knicks' doctors will make that decision. Felton was expected to miss four to six weeks; the Knicks are 5-6 without him.

"If it's up to me, I'll play Boston [on Thursday]," Felton said. "But they're not going to let me do it because there's a possible chance if I break it again, I'll be out two months because they're going to have to go in and have surgery.

"Everybody looks at it as a little pinkie and he shouldn't be out. I fractured that pinkie in three places. I got three bones that shattered. If I mess it up again, I'm going to be out two to three months, so I'll do whatever I need to do ."

I don't get it, if you shattered your pinky in 3 places and you chose not to have surgery, why bring it up now. Also, if there's a high risk of you re injuring it, why not make sure it's fully heal

Not sure how to take that last comment

The rest for his bruised hands seemed to fix his shot. If felton can hit the open shot we will be elite again. Its starting to seem like we lost our fire after felton started getting his hands bruised.

His penetration and pick n roll set up is more important than his shot. But yes, as long as he can knock down open shots and finish at the rim he'll get us back to the way we were playing on O before.

Him being able to hit the open shot is what will stop teams from playing off him as much as they did after he got bruised hands.

We haven't had that terrible medical staff for a couple of years now. One good thing Isiah did right before he left was upgrading the medical staff. The guys who misdiagnosed Camby and Ok'ed Houston before he was ready no longer work for MSG. As a matter of fact, the chief of the Medical Staff (a woman who's name I can't recall) was credited for finding an issue with a guy we traded for from Chicago. Can't remember his name either but he was supposed to be an athletic freak and is no longer in the league.

No disrespect intended but,it seems like your making an assumption about the present based on the past. Not saying our staff is on the level of say, a Phoenix but, they haven't dropped the ball on anyone since they've been in place (yet).

Honestly, I have not watched a full game this year. I am just a little frustrated still. I hope the playoffs will bring me back to caring like before. Right now, I just follow them through UK and watch them here and then.

Nalod @ 1/23/2013 10:53 AM

Can a Somberite watch 75% of the games but a Homer barely watches?
