I have said a few times that the loss of Felton has slowed the team for a while, however, the anti-felton crowd refuses to give Felton any credit.
Everyone agrees they miss Felton greatly. Its just scary that we depend on 1 player so much with one of the highest payrolls in the league

Exactly. Yet so many people can't seem to comprehend it. It's not about an individual but the effect he has on the team as a whole and how he fulfills the needs of the team.
Pretty much. The Knicks team numbers are down since Felt went down. Points in the paint are down, Chandlers' ppg and FG% are down, Melo's fg% is down, we aren't scoring as much and our team fg% is down. Yet, everyone only wants to focus on his individual numbers. Its a team game and the team has suffered since Felt went down.....
To repeat and state it a 3rd way
Felton, Kidd, Shump, Melo, Chandler
with JR, Amare, Novak, Prigs, White, Copeland coming off the bench
is far superior to
Kidd, Shump, White, Melo, Chandler
with same bench
Shump our best perimeter defender defending the frontcourt?
Not ideal but our offense in the beginning of the season looked best with 2 ballhandlers on the floor.
Think we can get the same ball movement and hockey assist fest with Felton and Shump starting in the back?

agree. as i stated in another thread.. starting amar'e isn't a priority right now. he's just starting to play well off the bench, let's leave him there for a bit. until i can see him and melo are completely able to play with each other, i leave him where he is.
I'm ok with that until the Knicks add a backup for Tyson or Sheed or Camby miraculously return and stay healthy. Kurt has nothing left

Well, we only have Felton that can do that. So yeah, it's not Felton we're missing, it's the speed factor, but he just happens to be the only one capable of doing it.

Will Bynum wouldn't be a terrible backup. Seems like Prigs is not in favor with Woody right now

Hahahah I agree with most of your points on Felton (he frustrated the hell outta me a lot this season) but we need him back simply because nothing will change unless he does. There will be little to no adjustments from Woodson while hes out so we need him back if we hope to play anywhere near how we did in November.

I really don't think KG is in Melo's head or anything like that.
He's streaky. He's a rhythm guy. He's going through a rough stretch and the loss of Felton has hurt him. He needs to come off far more screens than he does instead of the constant do-it-yourself, isoball. The KG-in-Melo's-head stuff is way overstated.
