Knicks · Melo and Chandler, Knicks and Nuggies (page 1)

Also, we end up with Felton and JR in addition to Melo and Chandler, while the Nuggies have some Euro trash, the wrong Chandler and some Russian stiff! Oh yea but wait the Nuggies won the deal!

Also, we have a realistic chance at winning a Championship while the Nuggies have NO CHANCE! Oh yea but wait the Nuggies won the deal! LOL!

I don't know how you can extrapolate such accurate predictions from these two very similar records

Since the trade?

Raymond Felton has returned to the Knicks.

We've replaced Wilson Chandler with a 6th Man of the Year contender in J.R Smith.

We've replaced an overrated/soft European player in Gallo with one of the greatest pure scorers in the game today; Carmelo Anthony. A franchise player.

We've replaced a project Center from Russia in Mozgov with a championship winning Center, an American Gold Medalist Olympian, Defensive Player of the Year and now an All-Star Center in Tyson Chandler.

Done deal.

What is Mozgov doing in Denver? He's nothing more than a 3rd string Center who's only averaging 9.6 minutes per game, 2.6 points and 3 boards per game. The actual definition of a scrub/jag.

What is Wilson Chandler doing in Denver? He's missed 35 games and is only averaging 9.9 points per game. Has a FG percentage of only .379. When thinking about Wilson Chandler? All I can say is thank god for J.R Smith.

What is Anthony Randolph doing for Denver? Nothingness. 6.3 minutes. 2.0 points. 1.6 boards.

These are three perfect examples of clueless fans. These same three players are the same three players in which Knick fans bashed our front office for moving. Wilson Chandler (product of MDA), Mozgov and Randolph? Laughable.

Where is Eddy Curry? Too funny.

Raymond Felton was the best overall player we moved during the trade, and he's now returned to the Knicks.

We also walked away with an elite scorer in Melo. More like a phenom offensive force is what we received in Carmelo Anthony. One of the greatest pure scorers this franchise has ever seen. A true franchise leader. We haven't won the Atlantic since 1994. We only won our Atlantic Division two times under the Ewing era. Now, during only Melo's first (full) season as a Knick? We're in first place of the Atlantic and 2nd of the entire Eastern Conference 40 games into the season. Melo has carried this team, despite the fact that we've had injury after injury. Something in which Gallo has never done, can never do, and will never do; Carry a franchise.

By the way, the Knicks have been without Kidd (4 games). Melo (7 games). Felton (12 games). Kurt (15 games). Rasheed (20 games). Camby (26 games). Stoudemire (30 games). Shumpert (37 games).

How many injuries has Denver had to fight through? The answer would be 1, Wilson Chandler.

And, you mean to tell me that we're still two games ahead of Denver? By the end of the season the Knicks will be a 1st or 2nd seed while Denver struggles to make the postseason. I can't see the Nuggets finishing anything better than the 7th or 8th seed of the West. If they have a significant injury? Their season is o-v-e-r.

Thats not quite right! and here's why. Where ever the Knicks play and when ever the Knicks play teams are pumped up to play us like no other team. That makes a difference. When teams come to madison Square Garden they know that New York is the Mecca of Basketball. People who play the Nuggets don't have the same passion as playing the Knicks.
Look I'm a Wilson Chandler fan I hated to see him go but that's the risk we take. I'm happy for Denver. One thing I know for sure, if you ask any of the guys we traded for Melo who would you rather play for New York or Denver it would be hands down New York.

While I do agree with that, I just dont think thats really a valid reason to discredit Denver's record. If the Knicks know teams are getting up for them, they should match the intensity.

Euro trash? C'mon man...

I'm not knocking the trade, but those same players that we traded away that don't look so good now, would have thrived under MDA along with felton. We would have still been a very good team in the east, not sure of championship contender but definitely a force.

melo obviously makes the trade fly in our favor, your not winning a championships with out a goto guy in the 4th qtr or any qtr for the matter

The nuggs are a 2nrd knockoff

We have won exactly one playoff game. Everyone called Lee a loser and a player that can't win and he would easily be the second best player on this team.

The Knicks got extremely lucky Felton decided to his way into a 3MM a year.contract and.Smith went to Europe. With all our depth we need Melo to carry the load every night. The Knicks have played bad basketball for about a month now.

Do we have a realistic shot at a championship. Maybe. But, a healthy Nets team is right there with us and the same goes for the bulls. This team gets no respect till they earn it. We need to actually show up in the playoffs and not implode mentally, because.right now Melo has produced one playoff victory in two trips. No one wins the trade till we win a round.

Never look ahead. Knicks know how to disappoint a fan pretty good game at a time is the motto that needs to be followed. Knicks have proved that they can be beat very easily by crappy teams.

Not this year maybe last year and the other 3 years under Dantoni.

This year the Knicks have one bad loss Sacramento on the road

True but they nearly lost to the Twolves without Love and the Cavs. The Knicks need to play like they did in November. get a nice winning streak and finish strong into the ASB

I'll put the Celtics in the bad team category, they're terrible this year, like 3 games under 500 at this point and in danger of slipping out of the playoffs, and we beat them by 2 points on an 11-28 shooting night from Melo

Our current roster to compete for a title has a small window and it would greatly depend on how we retool our roster with the rest of our draft picks, and the FA class of 2015 summer

While there isn't a true "STAR" on the Nuggets, they have many young assets, draft picks, and players that will continue to get better, as we only have Iman Shumpert, as the rest of the roster have more or less peaked out and have a greater chance declining

Yes, we got back Felton but it cost us 2 2nd round picks, while Denver gained an additional 1st round pick and Andre Miller
Nuggets saved much financial flexibility, 30+ million from the trade by dumping their trash to us in the trade alone instantly
We got lucky we were able to sign JR Smith
As well as getting Tyson Chandler at the expense of losing the amnesty, as well as the 14m Billups got

In all fairness, I think if we finished the season with the roster we had without the trade, I think Felton/Gallo/Wilson Chandler would have much more value than they are worth right now. Something we can no longer determine accurately....
Also Golden State's 2nd round picks were predicted to be quite high

Had we not have to part with Wilson Chandler and Raymond Felton and not take on Billups contract I think it would be easy to say we won the trade

IF Anthony opts out of his contract next summer and gets a Joe Johnson like deal in this new CBA, we are looking at a possible Joe Johnson/Allan Houston/STAT type investment with little flexibility to attract the FA class of 2015 that many teams are already positioning theirselves for

A max contract for Anthony starts at about 20-25m per year vs a max contract for Harden is about 15m, it is a huge difference in salary as well as their age
