Karl has basically said McGee is a certified knucklehead. I don't think he is getting much run in Denver as long as Karl is around. He probably can't be moved with that huge contract unless someone hires Isiah.

Love his new post moves. Looking forward to more

Did anyone notice the made bank shot from like 12 feet? That was not a part of his game either. He would shoot the jumper from foul line corners before.

Nalod @ 1/29/2013 8:16 AM

I think Amare is rethinking his game and we are just seeing a small sample of it. No longer a 20mm player but he seems to be learning the fundamentals of foot work and spacing over athletic freaky ability. This will prolong his career and keep him more productive while limiting the duress on his body.

We can hope that he can find his rhythm and be able to go 36 min come playoff time.

Im just hoping that they feed him more in the post. The offense has become too ISO dependent. I wish they would run some more hi-low plays like atl. Theyrre still running woodys old offense

Posting is Iso and he is a turnover machine when swarmed unless we get the proper spacing. What he does not do when post is passs out of it.

They have been feeding him in motion which suits his game and speed.

Problem is Chandler steps out he is left alone as he is no threat to shoot.

Tyson brings a lot of things to the game but he hurts Amare sometimes.

Melo has to give up some of his shots for Stat. At one point in the last game, Melo had 16shot attempts to Amare's 5shot attempts and JR Smith has got to learn to pass Amare the ball. Dude will often have Stat in post position but, instead of passing him the ball he always chucks up what has of late been all bricks.

I agree, there has been way too much Melo iso. I want the offense we had to start the season. I also want to see Amar'e get more touches off the PnR and on the low block.

Anyone depending on Amare is kidding themselves.

Amare needs to make himself fit. His defense is still laughable.

AnubisADL @ 1/29/2013 11:13 AM
Iso Melo is becoming more common because guys arent producing. Brewer, Novak, and Kidd have disappeared.

The game is about the wins.

Team needs upgrades to get to the next level.

iso Melo became more common because like last year we had no point guard for a while. Hows about letting them rebuild the teams chemistry. We are trying to integrate two new players on top of having lost our point guard for a while. Why are so many people overreacting when there are factors beyond control that have OBVIOUSLY contributed to the teams slippage. Instead, it's all Melo's fault. I'm not a Melo fan boy but, I don't understand the trend of blaming him for everything.

And its unfreakingbelievable that some folk are still here complaining about losing LIN. GTFO of here. It was understandable for a while but, not they just like like little girls TROLLING on this KNICKS site.

PS. Anubis, my rant wasn't directed towards you.

Amare and Shump need more games. Explosiveness comes after playing as you see Amare is showing more and more, with time he will get his explosion back. I say by April you will see Amare somewhat close to the explosiveness that he had before back injury.

Hopefully his knees hold up til April

Don't forget his back and bad mental decisions. Every year it's something new with Amare come playoffs.

that is just more reason to have him getting more shots off. At least he's trying and has been contributing on the glass along with shot blocking. His defense isn't as terrible, just not good. I'd say he is a poor defender, but not a terrible one.

dude, you make it sound like he's faking or making stuff up so he doesn't have to play. These people are Human and subject to having "shyt happen." Maybe if he wasn't playing so many minutes and dragging this team into respectability his back might not have gotten injured.

We knew WHAT we were getting we he came. We were happy. Hows about appreciating the player for who and what he is and does bring instead of being what has become the typical Knick fan, always wanting more.

I don't know what your saying. I simply just stated the past did Amare not hurt his back, did Amare not punch a fire extinguisher and cut his hand. I appreciate Amare more than most here I know how vital he is for the Knicks to make any kind of playoff run. Barring any kind of set back I think Amare is going to gt better and better. I am even on record that when April comes around Amare is going to be in beast mode.

DurzoBlint @ 1/29/2013 2:36 PM
It was the every year, something new statement (I did come off a bit rough and I'm sorry for that). I thought you meant it as a critique instead of simply making an honest statement which, you did. Heck, even if it was a critique, I still shouldn't have come at you like that. I hate it when it happens to me so, I'm owning up.

callmened wrote:Folks he wil NEVER be a $20 million dollar player again. His knees are shot, he cant play more than 30mins a game and he doesnt have the explosiveness anymore. However, that doesnt mean he cant be a productive player. Someone mentioned it earlier, but he makes his move QUICKLY instead of standing for 10 seconds. He may look spastic but his turnovers are less and at the very least it seems like he gets fouls.

I'll sign up if he can effectively be a healthier version of Bill Walton with the Celtics

Anji @ 1/29/2013 4:23 PM
In my mind, the end game with Amare is to get him to play well enough for some team with nothing going for them to take a flyer on him for 2 years since they have to spend 40+ million anyway.

This team would great with that 20 million split between Millsap and and a buck up??
