and we were without Felton one game. Kidd the other. Should be 4-0 on them. No big deal. We will win th atlantic since they won't catch or tie us

Props to Felton 9 dimes ZERO TOs
Anji @ 1/30/2013 10:02 PM
I know Woody always talking about, "Don't look for help, everybody needs to guard their man". Which is good in concept, but our team can't handle the scheme.

I wanna see us pressing and trapping more, get ball out of the point guards hands and let's get the other team scrambling.

yes his ball movement was really good BUT he still needs to improve his defense and keep guards in front

Just to let people know about Melo, Amar'e, and Chandler working together:

Here is about post from Knickerblogger.net

Learned about this site from Kevin McElroy’s twitter @knickerbacker – surprised we have not seen it here — nbawowy.com

Basically looks like you can do lineup comparisons (not only who is ON court but also who is OFF court) and get all sorts of stats from it. Really impressive assuming all the numbers are right.

Anyway – if these numbers can be believed, some nuggets:

NYK with the “Broadway Bigs” lineup (STAT/Melo/Tyson) on-court:
Offense: 1.192 PPP, TS 60.2, 29.5% ORR
Defense: 1.034 PPP-against, TS-against 54.5, 79.5% NYK DRR
That’s in 184 possessions so basically ~100 min worth. Small sample obviously but it seems pretty promising that the combo is not toxic.

NYK with Felton/Kidd/Melo/Tyson on-court:
Offense: 1.18 PPP, TS 58.1
Defense: 1.055 PPP, TS 55.3
~750 possessions

NYK with Felton/Kidd/Melo/Tyson on-court but without Brewer:
Offense: 1.259 PPP, TS 61.2
Defense: 0.982 PPP, TS 49.9
340 possessions

If you add Brewer back to that quartet, the offense falls to 1.12 PPP and the defense regresses to 1.118 PPP.

That's before tonight. I think that group can definitely work together well. The great thing is "Mirage-Amar'e" is just getting warmed up

JR 4 for 8 50% Hallelujah!!

Stoudemire looked great tonight again. I'd say it's safe to say if this is the Amare we'll get for the rest of the season, we are in excellent shape

this was a solid game for the knicks. they looked good out there even if it was against an overmatched and undermanned team.

you have to be happy for stat. he's a great finisher and he's been marginalized. but if melo can focus on feeding stat instead of shooting when they play together that is going to be a good development. melo should focus on playmaking for chandler and stat at every opportunity. 6-7 assists in this scenario is not out of the question. yes stat is a defensive liability but making a point of finding stat clearly has a positive effect on the passing game.

anthony took 17 shots which is just right. 5 assists too. this is the sort of balance we need from him. only 3 or 4 dumb shots tonight.
not a fan of felton tonight. why must he always try to show up players he has an inferiority complex towards?
shumpert is a concern. maybe he's working his way back-- i love his intensity-- but he seems a step slower. lets hope this is temporary.
prigioni keeps hitting the 3 and kidd won't be missed quite so much.

It's funny how teams still keep doubling Kobe and he keeps finding guys open

its just as nuts that we keep doubling middling players and leave good players wide open

Yea it makes no sense but I don't see Woodson changing his defensive philosophy mid season. Wonder why they didn't go back to some zone. Would like to see more Zone and pressure D on the PG. What we are doing now just doesn't make any sense. Sheed returning is not going to keep opposing pgs from blowing past our pgs
