UK. Where amazing happens.
Hardly, its about what this team has earned which in the last 10 years is one playoff win. Its not about individual players, its about the team they represent and this team hasn't represented since the 90s. Felton is talking like he's on a team that's done something lately, or even in the last decade.
The last decade has nothing to do with THIS team. #2 Seed in the East is "something" IMHO.
Battered Knicks fany syndrome runs much deeper with some I guess.

I don't believe players on any team should act like slacking off is no big deal when said team has only won a single playoff game in more than a decade. Its called team pride. If you had any it would matter to you. Its halfway through the season and that good enough for you to back a player who has bounced from team to team because of his lack of discipline, saying that its no big deal to play down to your competition. Sounds like you are so battered that half a season is good enough to make you happy.

We have barely accomplished anything so far this season. This isn't the type of attitude we should have. We didn't just win a title. We haven't proven anything yet and this cocky "we're better than them so we'll win by just showing up" attitude is one we should be criticizing, not praising.100% correct and let me add that until they have established an identity and firmed up the rotation they cannot afford to coast. the knicks need to demonstrate hunger like the bulls do.
+1

This roster has nine new players. A new (demanding) head coach. This group has absolutely nothing to do with the last decade.
Not a damn thing.

Defend a starting PG who says that its ok to play down to your competition? Really? No one is holding this team responsible for the last ten years, strawman argument. I'm saying that this squad should least go deep in the playoffs before acting like they've been there. Some have individually but not as a team. Big difference.

So are we talking about the last 10 years, or this team lately? Because maybe it's just me, but this team HAS done something lately. This team is not the the team of the last 10 years. This team is unlike anything I've ever seen or heard about.
I don't get it. People can focus all their warm fuzzies on the pre-Melo team or Linsanity, but the Knicks park their azzes in first place for half a season and it doesn't mean squat. If it's all about the last 10 years, then the point is completely understood. If it's about the here and now, I don't get it.
Pleas pick a fact and live with it.

At least you can't complain about the sample size.

I was all for the Melo trade when it happened and I'm pretty sure I was the first person on this board to point out that "Linsanity" wasn't going to last. I'm very very happy with how this team is doing Jrod. I've written hundreds of posts this season expressing my enthusiasm for the way things have gone this season.
I disagree with the OP and those defending Felton for casually saying that that he believes that the team is slacking off at times because they think they're so good. That's not the kind of attitude that's going to get them to the finals, no way. No player on a team that has underperformed as much as the Knicks have relative to their payroll should be saying that slacking off is anything but a bad thing. I don't know why that is so controversial.

Chandler has been a major liability and this team is full of turnstiles. Get it together Woody!! These are bad habits they've developed. And with Melo's game dropping off some, JR getting cold, and Melo being taken out if the game at times with doubles, they need defense badly.
All things considered i will take the .500 ball in January with Felton out. More so than our record the key is how we are playing. Looking forward to getting Sheed and Camby back

We didn't have Felton, Amare and Shumpert...They didn't have one guy..Rose..3 starters versus 1 starter...But it doesn't fit your narrative does it..

Chicago prepared itself for life without Rose by signing Hinrich, Nate, Belinelli and developing Jimmy Butler. We did not prepare for an extended injury to Felton. And Woodson had Kidd starting at PG when it should've been Prigioni. Who at least gives them some penetration and lots of pick n roll. Kidd is not a pick n roll pg nor is JR. Pick n roll with Amare and Chandler is a big part of this offense.
"Felton was not showing hard enough on pick and rolls orchestrated by Jennings, and Shumpert was not quick enough rotating out to shooters. The Bucks hit four 3-pointers in the opening period to take the 28-25 lead -- just another time the Knicks have trailed after 12 minutes.
“When I pulled (Shumpert) it didn’t seem like he had much energy, so I thought he needed to sit and think about it a little bit. When I brought him back in the fourth quarter, he was big. He stepped up and he made plays, which is kind of nice to see.’’
- Mike Woodson
“At times, stuff happens. I got beat [on] two backdoors, body not in the right position. Just a small detail of not closing my foot on an out-of-bounds play, and the guy goes right backdoor. Little stuff like that I wasn’t paying attention to because I haven’t been in the swing of things. I know I’m going to get yelled at for it. My teammates curse me out on the court, too." - employee #21
Turn On
Shumpert turned it on in the fourth quarter.
"I was able to switch on to Brandon, so I was able to get into better rhythm guarding somebody the whole time up the court -- doing some of the things I did last year," - I Man Shumoert
Shumpert may be on the court but he is a different player now. The confidence in his movement is not 100 per cent. Whether that is mental or physical is anyone's guess.

I have plenty of TEAM PRIDE which is why I'm proud that my team is 29-15 and .5 game behind the Heat for #1 in the East. I don't see anything wrong with what Felton said as he was speaking the truth which is evident with the way the Knicks have played at times this year. What did he say that was wrong? That the need to play harder from start to finish?
He took the damn Bobcats to the playoffs. We signed him as a FA and he played his ass off and was traded to Denver in the Melo package. He played well in Denver but Denver wanted to roll with Lawson so they traded him to Portland. He stunk it up in Portland no doubt and he admitted it. We get him back with a chip on his shoulder and the guy is putting up 15 & 6 for us.
Yeah I 100% back Felton. It's evident that the Knicks are a better team with him. Look at how the Knicks played without him. I'm not battered at all which is why I'm happy with the team and where we're at. I expect this team to win it all.
What does THIS team have anything to do with the last 10 years?

Easy, Felton never said it was OK. Said they need to play with more urgency.
Gustav - The Answer Man double, no... triple dog dares you to indicate the source where Felton stated, "it is okay to play down your competition"?

We had about $50 mil in healthy, experienced players. Most teams' fans aren't fortunate enough to have that.
