Before the Melo trade Amare showed leadership on that team. I think that it is now time for Amare to regain the leadership roll of this team. Forget about he don't fit. Make it fit!! We've seen some great moves by Amare since he came back. Now he stands in the background on the second unit. That's not what we brought him here for. Woodson should be ashamed of himself thinking he can make Amare a second stringer and Amare should make a statement to tell everyone to move over because I'm taking over again. This team needs leadership and even though Melo is one of my favorite players he needs help and he needs for someone to stand up to him to tell him to pass the damn rock when we need to. If we continue to play ISO ball we are done. I know how Melo feels that if he gives up the rock the chances of his team mates making a shot is null. I hope that Jason Kidd did not fall off the wagon and started sipping the sauce again. Let's make a trade in our favor.
Can't be much worse than being down double digits every 1st & 3rd quarter
$100mil for a 20mins per game bench player. Niiiiiice
Amare plays no defense. So we'd allow the opposing front court to get hot early.
Amare doesnt have problems defending his man. His problems are on help D and covering pick n rolls and losing his man

They are doing that now so what difference does that make? Look we paid him 100 million dollars. He must be good at something. I remember before Melo came he was averaging 30 points a game for a while. So now you are telling me he lost those skills.
Anyway i think that the Knicks defense is too complicated and is designed for a younger and faster team.

Coming in, we knew Amar'e would be hard pressed to play out his contract.
did a horrible job of managing his minutes in the first year and, unfortunately, the pendulum need to be swung in the opposite direction to balance all the damage
did. As far as who starts or not, it makes no difference. What matter is when you play. Plus, we where winning before STAT came back into the lineup. I agree we have problems, but I don't believe they are linked to whether or not Amar'e starts.
Dantoni is probably the reason Amare needed microfracture in phoenix in the first place

Absolutely. Amare was playing 40mpg even in blowouts. During the month of December his first season here, Amare averaged 39.5 mpg. After that month he started battling injuries, he shot under 50% from the field for 3 of the next 4 months, and his rebounding dropped from 8/game to 7/game and then just under 6/game. I'll always believe that MDA, in all likelihood, pretty much ruined the rest of Amare's career.

He's working on Kobe now.
