Also, I may have been wrong before and many more times to come...Im not the guy who will run from it or hide behind a different handle and have the cojones to call some else out about their past deeds...Balls, my man...

Yes, I'm sorry. His name is Redick with one 'd'. Hey, at least I didn't call him a character from a Vin Diesel movie. I know that much about him.
Lol @ hide behind names, like I chose to have this handle. If it was up to me I'd have been one username forever. But it wasn't up to me. I'm still here. I've always been there to admit I've been wrong. You, on the other hand, I mean you're still insisting that Marbury was good for this franchise and that we screwed him over. And you talk about "cojones". Not to mention that there points of the Isiah era that you would vanish completely for months at a time.
This isn't the point here at all. You're derailing the thread because you've been proven wrong and you're bringing up things that don't matter. J.J. Redick is way better than Matt Carroll and Steve Novak. I would gladly take him over JR Smith because efficiency wins you games, not contested jump shots. If you can't argue that point then don't argue at all. Admit you lost and move on.

Ha..U are a riot..U have zero qualms about me pointing out the spelling when u have gone on and on with the wrong spelling of his name as well...Amazing..
Where did I compare Redick, Novak, and Caroll's games.??.I said Novak was a poor signing..Redick would be a bad trade for Shump..I also said people here was going nuts about Carrol game like they do whenever a player have good games against the Knicks...Come on dude, stop twisting what I actually said...So what was your previous handle??..Gallo is your idle isn't he??..Ur love for MDA has no depths..Donnie was the man?!?!..
There's nothing great about shutting down your opponent if the opponent shuts you down even worse. I don't see anything from Shumpert's college or NBA career to indicate that he will ever be a good offensive player. Trading for Redick is a possibility although I don't see a way of making the salaries match and doing a trade I would support. But if we can find a GM who overrates Shumpert even half as much as most fans do here, we need to get the trade talks going with him.
Why the hell is there so much talk of offloading Shumpert?
am I the only one that doesn't want him to be traded?
The only way I'd be willing to let shump go is if we get an absolutely insane offer and even then I wouldn't be that eager to sign the deal (not that anything like that is actualy happening, which is another reason why I ask this question)
There's no point in having a player A) with good trade value, but B) who can't help now on a team with a 1 or 2 year window
I'd rather build teams for long-term success rather than a brief window but that's not an option with Dolan in charge.

He was a knick. We released him.

Sounds like Chapter 1, Verse 1 of MDA's basketball bible...If we add Redick to Melo and Amare we still aren't outscoring the Heat or any of the top teams in the playoffs...Our only chance is to play the defense we did at the beginning of the season...Shrump has changed games with his defense...Redick is a bench player at best and highly overrated on this board...With all the explosive guards in the East, Redick and Kidd at the 2 will only get destroyed and no offense they can muster will cover any deficiencies our back court has...I opt for defense over offense, we tried it the other way the last 4 years...Again, why would the Knicks give up the best talent in a trade??
JJ would be a long term answer at 2 for the Knicks. Shump is a great defender but he looks lost on offense. He's not really a 2 or a 3 and he certainly isn't a 1. He's a talented basketball player. Just easier to see how JJ would fit here long term. I would hate to lose a guy like SHumpert though because that's the type of player you see on Championship teams - someone who can hit a three and man up
Most rookies look lost offensively. Even Lebron shot 41% as a Rookie

Shrump looks lost..So this can't change before the playoffs??

please point to the part where I said that Shump would stay lost

So Shump can recover and no one wants to put him in a box just yet but Lin was summed up as who he was going to be after 35gms?

Good point. Consistency is a thing of the past. I choose to maintain that rookies tend to improve after their 1st year. Especially rookies coming off knee surgeries

No, it's just basic mathematics. I don't overrate Redick. I see him simply as an average NBA shooting guard, but that's a big upgrade from what we have now. Redick's definitely not my first choice, even among reasonable options.
To his credit, JJ is putting up 15 and 4 at 45% shooting. I don't think he's much of a defender, but I doubt Shump will ever put up those numbers honestly.

Not even comparing defense, Shrump scoring numbers from last years, his rookie year, was better than Redick six year career stats...So his rookie campaign was better than Redick first six years in the league and u don't think Shrump can put up better stats in his career compared to Redick's contract year's stats???..Now to mention defense...Shrump can and has change games with him defense..He was well on his way to being one of the league premier perimeter defenders...So what am I missing??

Calling him the average shooting guard is over rating him...
Here are a few:
Bradley Beal
DeMar DeRozen
OJ Mayo
Westley Mathews
Courtney Lee
Arron Afflalo
Klay Thompson
Tony Allen
Mota Ellis
JR Smith
JCrossover
Jason Richardson
Iamn Shrumpert
Marcus Thorton
Jordan Crawford
Gerald Henderson
Jason Terry
Kevin Martin
Avery Bradley
Tyreke Evans
Eric Gordon
Ray Allen
Paul George
Joe Johnson
Manu
Wade
Kobe
Harden
Iggy
I'm sure I could dig up another 5 or 7 if I put my mind to it...
Nick Young
Gordon Haywood
Danny Green
etc...
Nick Young is terrible. Makes Jamal Crawford Knicks years look efficient but I agree Redick may be average offensively but certainly below average defensively. And should be a joy watching Wade, Lebron, Rose, paul george and joe johnson light him up in the playoffs

Yes, because Iman Shumpert will stop these guys.
Wade averaged 25 ppg on Shumpert during the season and playoffs. How about we relax a little bit with the Shumpert hype? He's not God.
