How about Shump for Terrence Jones?

FYI: I love Shump. It's just that Shump is the only asset the Knicks have to get help for this year and this team only has a 1-2 year window.

Rudy Gay gets paid the max. Gallinari does not. Memphis wanted to cut salary. This is not rocket science.

Why would Fabio Melo not handle living in NY?

They only needed to add $2-3mil to the deal to make the deal acceptable under the CBA...One could flip it and say Gallo's deal runs longer than Rudy's. You can't double dutch in and out of this even if you tried...

Longer is irrelevant if a team doesn't want to pay the luxury tax man. Come on now. Memphis wants that check from teams over the cap.

They wanted to shave some coin but get some talent back in return, Gallo fit both scenarios. It wasn't a total cost cutting trade by Memphis, it was two-fold.

What for when Sheed and Camby will be good come playoff time?

We didn't give up multiple picks and players and paid salary and Tax dollars for O'Neal...so let Camby bolster our frontline that's what we've paid him to be capable of doing.

Hope not. He would fit right on on the oft-injured reserve list. Dude stats hurt and we have enough dead weight hanging out in the treatment facilities.

you wanna bolster the front line by adding oneal? even today he is only a shadow of rasheed wallace.

I hope our treatment facilities are big enough.

Can't believe the Warriors are thinking of trading Klay Thompson (promising, cheap player) for Eric Gordon (serious knee issues, max contract).

Could be a great trade for them if gordon is back. They seem to like taking risks on guys with injury issues. I heard they were looking to stay under the cap with a move. Doesnt gordon put them over

No way would I trade Thompson for him. Gordon looks like a health disaster. Looks like Nets are going to walk out with either Josh Smith or Ben Gordon. Smith is less likely unless they can flip Humpheries in a threeway.

Nyets tryin to hose Boston. Sure they can do much better than this for Pierce. Same with Josh Smith and Danny Granger

NBA trade deadline buzz: Nets make offer for Celtics guard Paul Pierce
WOJO

The Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets have discussed a trade for Celtics star Paul Pierce, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
The Nets' offer centered on forward Kris Humphries, guard MarShon Brooks and a first-round draft pick, but the Celtics want a more substantial package to consider moving Pierce, league sources said.
"The Celtics still highly value Pierce and it wouldn't make sense to trade him for that kind of a package if they're keeping Kevin Garnett," one league source said.

Boston has shown interest in guard Mirza Teletovic and securing another possible first-round pick, but the Nets have shown no inclination to pay that steep of a price for Pierce.
The Nets and Celtics discussed a deal for Pierce at the 2012 trade deadline, but the Celtics decided to keep him for another playoff run. Pierce, 35, is averaging 18 points for the Celtics this season, shooting his worst from the field – 41 percent – in the past eight seasons.
Boston had interest in guard C.J. Watson in a separate deal, but Brooklyn doesn't want to part with him, sources said.

with camby out the trade has looked bad but not like you spun it. The players other than douglas are out of the league. Grunwald resigned douglas so he could use his salary to make a trade work. The two picks are second rounders.

Darryl Morey does it again and again...

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA now

The Rockets will send Patrick Patterson, Cole Aldrich and Toney Douglas to the Kings for Thomas Robinson, sources tell Y!

So the Rockets needed a 4 and he goes and gets a Lottery talent 4 in Thomas Robinson

and

He trades Marcus Morris for a future 2nd pick from the Suns

Is it all possible to trade Carmelo Anthony for Darryl Morey straight up. Is it even legal or possible to do this. If someone can find this out for me let me know...
