McGrady would be coming off the bench and provide us with another ball handler, passer, and someone who can hit an open shot. Kidd is playing on fumes at moment.
We are going to have to start resting guys eventually and I'd like to keep Melo semi fresh for the playoffs.

it just doesn't feel comfortable, i feel like we're patching holes in the frame of the boat so that we may only stay afloat,
teams like miami and clippers signed the old guys to secure their position at the top, we're just trying to claw our way to the top on a rickety ladder

Our window is small with this core. Only 2 more years and Amare is gone and we will likely refresh the roster.
McGrady is battle tested. He is good for 10 to 15 minutes a night off the bench. Too be honest I dont trust Felton or Kidd to remain healthy without dropping their minutes.
Plus McGrady at SG helps with our switching defense. We'd be able to go big with our guards.

I'd rather play James White a whole lot more when compared to signing McGrady. T-Mac was awful last year with Atlanta coming off the bench and just as awful the year before with Detroit.

mcgrady is one of those names that we would be better to let go,
it's the reason we're in the current mess to begin with: the franchise looks first for a quick fix and never even considers the reasonable option which might take a little bit of patience to pick the berries off the bush,
mcgrady is just a one shot quick fix, like baron davis last year and sheed and camby and kurt are this year,
i'd rather go with what we have at this point
