Knicks · Rasheed is done for the rest of the season (page 1)

MSG3 @ 2/27/2013 12:52 PM
Broken bone in his foot. Playoff return possible, but I don't think he's coming back if he's done for the rest of the season. He'll have no time to get in shape.

Knicks medical quackery strikes again!

Good thing they got Kenyon..

NYKBocker @ 2/27/2013 12:54 PM
So now we have an open roster spot. Go sign Hassan Whiteside please.

I wonder if they'll fill the spot with a big man or a guard. Amundson and Simms are obvious choices. Delonte West?

amundson is beyond awful, no way a unproven player gets that spot, and west is a total headcase.
AnubisADL @ 2/27/2013 1:03 PM
McGrady please.

McGrady's skills have diminished but he was always a good facilitator from the sg spot. I wouldn't mind signing him he was never bad with ball movement.

callmened @ 2/27/2013 1:08 PM
not that im doubting you but whats the source?

a couple weeks ago, they said he should be back soon...smh?!?!

NYKBocker @ 2/27/2013 1:10 PM
I would also look into Shelvin Mack. PG in D-LEague shooting .377 from 3Pt and averaging 7.5 assists per game.

NYY1NYK2 @ 2/27/2013 1:16 PM
shelvin mack had his chance with another team......
Sign simms asap, big body puts up monster numbers
Solace @ 2/27/2013 1:21 PM
I guess they didn't know this would happen, because if they knew, I assume they would not have traded Ronnie Brewer.

Brewer was done and needed to go. We got him for his defense and he was good the 1st month or2. But his defense severely regressed. I think the knee must have been re-aggrivated but, whatever it was, his defense had become pretty bad. I was actually happy to see his relegated to to the bench.

I hate this thread.

Need me some Sheed was my favorite thread for a long time. Does he at least assistant coach for the rest of the season?

GoNyGoNyGo @ 2/27/2013 2:33 PM
Do you think there will be an explanation as to why they waited about 11 weeks to decide to do surgery? He could have had the surgery before Christmas and have been back already!

This medical staff is a joke.

I think it's more Czar Dolan's PR rules than the training staff.

yellowboy90 @ 2/27/2013 2:44 PM
Donte Greene or Delonte West. Replace crazy with crazy.
nixluva @ 2/27/2013 2:46 PM
A stress reaction can often heal on it's own so my guess is they wanted to see if it would do that. At the time it hadn't actually fractured. My guess is that Sheed may not have been staying off of it as he was likely directed to do.

Stress Reaction
A stress reaction is the lowest grade of the three levels of bone injury. A stress reaction is essentially the early stages of a stress fracture. This occurs when the stresses affecting the bone occur at a faster rate than the rate at which the bone is able to rebuild itself.

These stresses typically occur from repetitive impacts to the bone like those seen in cross-country runners or a gymnast. A stress reaction will initially present as localized (a specific spot) pain over the bone.

These injuries are hard to diagnose because they do not show up on normal x-rays. Instead, to “see” a stress reaction, the athlete must undergo a bone scan which will show increased bone building in the area of the reaction. If diagnosed, the athlete will typically be advised to stop activity and rest.

do they really have to disclose everything to the public? You think the best doctors in the world available to him and you can make that call? Maybe His bone did not heal? Maybe in his rehab he reinjured it? Maybe he choose the course of his treatment with his doctors?

Now how will fans spin this....

Not mad at Sheed he was about turn the Century mark.

Another horrific signing by Grunny. That makes Brewer now Sheed pushing a count 3-2 one striking out while watching an off-speed pitch and another getting caught on a check swing....

Camby is in the On Deck Circle while Kidd is currently looking a 2-2 count

Skipper is looking deep into the dugout and has spotted Martin to DH if Kidd can manage to get on base.
