Melo joining the team again Friday, maybe playing, probably not. Chandler traveling with team. I would rather that they shut those two down, let them recover, rather than risk further injuries for a team that is already tired, below decent strength and therefore likely to lose.
Their best chance at regrouping is maybe after some decent rest and the next game home.
Lose the next two games, which are the likely outcomes anyway; get the young ones to play hard and earn their time.

They are traveling because they need Physical therapy and those guys are traveling with the team. I doubt they play right away but they are paid professionals being taken care of by paid professoinals and have personal doctors as well.
They play when they can. Knicks are in first place for the moment and should do everything they can to stay there, keep a top 4 seeding and prepare for the playoffs.
If they can't play, they don't.
Nets have a lot of away games and have their own "tired" issues but have been pretty healthy for the most part. Their bench is youthier than ours with young guys that actually have upside. They are just a game back and still figuring things out rotation wise. That might seem like "they suck" but if they figure it out they have the talent to take the division.
Its long season and like our trend has changed, so can other teams. Both good and bad. Anyone see the potential for whats happening to the knicks the last few weeks? Went from "Its gonna get better when Amare is starting!", and he was really starting to play better until he got shelved! Melo has been hurting which is why some of his game went away. Tyson had been a rock all season long.
We are not different than any other team and fortunes can change on a dime.
Its just the knicks being old and dependant on Melo's output makes us a bit more vulnerable. Evidence?

You make a good point but its very alarming that we're seeing Woodson do the same things that him canned in Atlanta. He won 50 games that season and was still let go.

I hope so, because as Knicks fans, all we have to look forward to at this point is the next big reshuffle and the madness that ensues immediately after,
That's really the most fun we're gonna have as Knicks fans for the next 20 years,

I think it might be Melo that is insecure. If he sits he is milking an injury and not playing because the team struggles and if he plays he is selfish because he wanted to play in a big game. It doesn't make a lot of sense but that seems to be his reality with some NY fans.

Not so much the fans but the media who make everything a writing and talking point to sell their product to the fans

I was playing ball today and someone hit me in my calf . It still hurts. Why am I telling you this? Its to show how sometimes when you tell the facts its better not to make assumptions and just lay down the cold truth. Yeah I could have told you that the mofo that did it to me was clueless. But i didn't , I made no silly judgements about the guy. Woody was not more successfull? Than who? Did you know that Woody holds the record for the amount of wins after taking over our franchise? Maybe get some facts together before posting opinions and assumptions.
Two words: Team spirits. Having the starters completely shut down and left behind will really hinder the spirits of the other players. Sure you say more playtime, but then the players will look at the team either 'let's pull a Jeremy Lin' or shit, I'm gonna have to work extra hard just to lose because we don't have our main scorers. Also, the whole team needs to keep refreshed even if not playing, as in listen in on the coach's directions during game, taking notes, injured starters guiding other teammates how to play the game while in suits or on bench, lots of other intangibles that need to be considered.
As for the owner, who cares at this point. I doubt he even cares about the injured players because they're not producing for him.
