Knicks have been struggling for more than 2 months. The main reason why we have stayed in the top 3 was because of our great start

And the terrible state of the Eastern Conference.
Hate to bring this, but Denver is 7 wins ahead of the Knicks in the win column while being only 4th in the West.

Well according to some Denver has no "go to guy" in the playoffs and wont do anything lol. Last time i checked we have a "go to guy" and havent done anything in the playoffs

Denver's future is WAAAAAY brighter than the Knicks right now! They don't need to blow it up, they sent the time bomb to NY.

LOL true

Why do the Knicks always make the wrong moves. I mean isiah thomas scott layden and even grunwald have made some big blunders. To be fair Dolan is the biggest idiot of them all

Partial rebuild would have to include trading chandler

Not necessarily. If we could resign Tyson to a slight discount, say $12M/year, it's possible we could have a little under $30M in cap space in 2015. But, any sort of rebuild can't include Melo or Amare.

it all starts at the top.. idiot owner, stupid hires in the front office which leads to stupid picks and trades... the only guy to restore some sense of respectability here from an organization standpoint was pretty much a David stern hire.. He forced walsh on dolan... and dolan still found a way to screw that up..

dk7th @ 3/16/2013 12:41 PM
dolan is an inferior man. no amount of FU money can change that or mask it. and he attracts inferior people and naturally invites failure.

some knick fans insist on burying their heads in the sand and rely on a brighter future someday, just like this OP.

well guess what: insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

and the corollary is fans' witnessing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Go small ball. Trade Chandler for 2 solid pieces.

I agree with thi.s. i would target Eric Gordon and maybe pick up draft pick

Can't see New Orleans trading for Tyson when they already have Anthony Davis and Ryan Anderson up front. LAC, OKC, Denver, Minnesota, and probably a couple of other teams would probably be more interested and also have the pieces to trade to make it worthwhile for us.

Knixkik @ 3/16/2013 1:09 PM
I continue to build around Melo and chandler by loading up on late draft picks. We can get creative and get a quality supporting cast for them. Must find a new PG though.
Bonn1997 @ 3/16/2013 2:40 PM
How do you get these late draft picks?
gunsnewing @ 3/16/2013 3:01 PM
Trade Melo to the frozen tundra of Minnesota for Derrick williams the #8 pick and luke ridnour
gunsnewing @ 3/16/2013 3:02 PM
Load up on jorts of the world lol
AnubisADL @ 3/16/2013 3:20 PM
Melo can opt out next summer.

Melo is not opting out. When is everyone going to accept the fact that Melo will retire a Knick. We must build around him.

RonRon @ 3/16/2013 11:38 PM
ummm Melo's 2 years is up already, if you are talking about another 2 years, you are saying it takes 4 years to while Dolan payed how much in salaries all this time?

In 2 years, they'll say we just need 2 more years.

This is to all the posters on this forum. Dolan can blow up this team and when the dust clears Melo will still be standing. Dolan will not let him go. Sooo here is the plan and you can dispute me but you know I'm right. Now Amare's Contract will be up in 2 years. Anyone who we get by way of trade or just signing MUST BE A TWO WAY PLAYER They must be fast and very athletic and can shoot the rock.We must get a top tier point guard in the draft. Buy draft picks and keep Shrump. When Amare's contract is up get another real superstar or 2 stars for the price of one. Get what we can get by trading Felton. Get rid of Woody and bring in Phil Jackson no matter what the cost. Make sure that before we sing top players that they must be 100% healthy. There also must be some accountability by all of the players of the night party life in New York. Melo needs to have the pressure taken off of him. He had better but not great teams in Denver. We can fuss pro and con all night long but we all must accept one thing. Melo is here for the long haul.

what an insulting post to those who waited two years to reset the team to zero with walsh, only to have the franchise yanked into an untenable win-now mode with this career loser and his butt-buddy dolan. takes a lot of gall to insist that we are stuck with melo and must build around him. enjoy your fantasy world.

I said this before and i say it again.

As much as folks blame Dolan this dual max player thing was all Walsh, and he struck out massively, and utter failure.

Phx didn't want Amare at that price and Donnie made surre to sdalvage something because he knows Knicks fans only want a morsel.

The Melo trade was his as well, just because he didn't pull the trigger dont mean he didn't lay out the plans and pave the negotiating door.

He was an accomplice to all the actions, and it started when Walsh specifically said he was willing to part with two of the three young guys, which is exactly what happened.

Dude was terrible.

Bonn1997 @ 3/17/2013 10:52 AM
It's not either Dolan or Walsh - not an either/or. Dolan probably didn't have the patience to do a gradual rebuild when we didn't get Lebron or Wade.
Dolan messed up spending far more on role players contributing nothing than on Lin though.

So you're saying Dolan forced Walsh to give Amare that contract?

Agree. The McGrady trade was awful as well.
