Knicks · What we have is an accountability issue with the Knicks (page 1)
Now we don't know how the players are responding in the locker room unless we ask Ronnie Brewer (LOL) because we're not in those meetings. Now is the time for Kidd the old head of the team to take over anybody who doesn't fall in line in what the coach is preaching. Melo isn't a leader and only Chandler and Kidd & Wallace has any cred when it comes to how to win a championship outside of coach Woodson as an assistant.
When guys don't buy into the coach the management has to back the head coach, if the players refuse to cooperate and respond. If the management(Owner - GM) doesn't back the head coach then the players control the output on the court or lack of it because the amount of money they make.
if Woody barked at Melo or JR, they would bark back at him, and he would be exposed as the emperor with no clothes,
this is because he has no real control over the team, Melo does, Woody is just Melo's puppet

I dont know if thats completely true. I agree that he picks who he wants to hold "accountable" and who he will just leave alone but I have seen him yell at both Melo and JR this season and they havent exactly yelled back.

But has he ever said something like "I'm so fucking sick of you" to either Melo or JR? I don't think so, but he has abused Novak in this way, like a bully strangling a little cat in childhood

Well to be honest im sick of Novak too but thats not the point. I think he favors JR and Melo so hes not gonna get on them like he would others. But he has gotten on them.

I'm not sick of Novak, I'm a big fan,
Novak is the type of player that you have to create for, and if you create for him he will reward you with a skill set so highly developed that only a few men in the world can do what he does,
I can't look at a sniper and get on him him for not being on the front line with an axe,

Prediction: Novak drops 12-16 a game on MDA's Lakers

Remember Raymond Felton's quote about being able to turn it on and off that drove most of us crazy?
Well here's Tyson with a different take...
"I think we've got to come together and understand that it's not a one-day thing, it's an everyday thing. I think right now sometimes we're considered fool's gold," Chandler said. "We think we can turn it on and turn it off, and that's not the way to go about things."

the accountability problem is on Dolan. Everyone and everything else that is wrong or can be associated with the team is a puppet tied by a string to his dysfunctional ego.

Exactly; that's what I was thinking as soon as I saw the thread title.
I might add accountability also lies with the small percentage of fans heavily lining Dolan's pockets.

I don't disagree. But for a coach who started his tenure by talking about "accountability" and making claims about how he believes in it, to have things devolve to this level before the first season is over? I would have to consider him a failure. He couldn't even realistically do the one thing he was supposed to be good at and by his his words focused on.
He is and will always be an yes-man.
loweyecue wrote:He is and will always be an yes-man.
Anyone who is not self employed is a yes man.
Try to go against the wishes of your employer and discover how much independant thought you really have.
Mike Woodson is just one man attempting to get a dozen men to perform at a higher level than twelve other men, on a nightly basis. To date, given the available resources, he has improvised with creativity and passion. Is every decision perfect?
Of course not. He does not have the benefit of hindsight with the clock running.
Much easier to second and third and fourth guess, than to make an immediate decision during a 30 second timeout, with emotions swirling.
Is Eric Spolestra a yes man to Pat Riley?
"Fire Eric Spolestra!"
Who is going to beat the Heat?

I agree the fans are the culprits too, they can easily stay home and watch it on tv instead of going along with the program in place.

Woody wont get ax NOR deserves
But coach need to look at himself in mirror, even more than star Melo OR others
Woodson go down as Nyk alltime most STUBBORN coach beating out LBrown
His inability to adapt Or 'Get it' As his role with young players lacking
Will be coach woody downfall.

Sorry....Mike Dantoni already has that crown. He's working on becoming the most stubborn coach in NBA history!

Respectively.. few months back I'd say u r true correct
BUT today Nope!
With headaches MDA had with Dwight-mare, Kobe & rest of LAL
Floundering & sputtering.. LAL winners of what 17 of last 24 or so games? Under MDA
& 8th seed in nba playoffs..
today LAL is BETTER team at 36-34
In the tough nba west than our Ny knicks 39-26, or 27? Even though recordwise Ny has the record
This makes coach WOODSON MORE stubborn award hands down, he wins it: Jan, Feb & March TBD
1. Melo begs out of Game? Melo get knee injury, Woody GOT 0 pulse of his entire Nyk team!
2. Shump critiqued by Woody though Iman played out of position SF
Much better at SG, PG defender til he slowly recovers to guard multi spots
3. Overuse Tyson Chandler, under used KThomas & had to overuse gritty KT on trip to help
Ny get needed win though KT broke down cause age & not enough work!prior
4. Let Ray Felton get FAT from a finger injury & even though We likely assume Ny handles it
Privately Woody tells press he is happy with his PG & defends Ray as much as any Knick coach likes.
5. Use to regularly talk/mentor JR Smith but coach needed JR to take over team & let shoddy plays
Be called ISOs to trick Knick fans into thinking this isReal nba basketball? Such as JR last shot 8sec left
Loss to OKC
6. Woody cant stand Copeland cause of irresponsible defensive as if Cope is only Knick guilty of not
Executing a defensive stance, even de-activated Copeland since inconsistent Woodson was p_issed with Cope
7. Woodson ticked on Novaks but plays him 5min sometime for 1 shot & Woody coach cant fix Steve confidence
To rebound or go to basket at times..things a 6 8' or 6 '9 inch forward could do when he cant shoot a jumper.
8.Woodson says last yr. "We going to run our team thru 2 best playas MELO & STOUT"
Well when Amare got healthy to demo some of his nice learned Hakeem moves from camp & Amare was
Effecttive in games NY coulda won few. ..the stubborn &blind Woodson sat Amare in key moments
Of nba. Quarters & didnt allow Amare a touch NOR draw up plays as STOUT sat on bench cool as a pro butya know privatelt was burning up on how Woodson failded to use him!
Thats it! All i pointed out on Woodson is facts & is coaching,
Making Nyk affairs much more difficult than it needed to be

What do you mean? JR was Woodson's whipping boy the whole first half of the season. The problem is that he never pulls JR so all his words are meaningless. I agree about Melo, he gets on him, but only passively, because he knows Melo's is the one pulling the strings making him dance. I do think Grunwald has more power than Melo though, Melo does not run this franchise, but he definitely has more pull with Jimmy Dol than Woodson.
1. Melo begs out of Game? Melo get knee injury, Woody GOT 0 pulse of his entire Nyk team!
Zero pulse of entire team? Can you cite one player quote to suppo this? Just one.
2. Shump critiqued by Woody though Iman played out of position SF
Much better at SG, PG defender til he slowly recovers to guard multi spots
Shump is called rook. He can handle it. Next,
3. Overuse Tyson Chandler, under used KThomas & had to overuse gritty KT on trip to help
Ny get needed win though KT broke down cause age & not enough work!prior
Really? Kurt decided to make a statement as a veteran leader and leads a win and that is a bad thing?
4. Let Ray Felton get FAT from a finger injury & even though We likely assume Ny handles it

Fat? Next

So unfounded on bias this is not worthy of a response. How do you know how much Woodson and JR talk?
6. Woody cant stand Copeland cause of irresponsible defensive as if Cope is only Knick guilty of not
Executing a defensive stance, even de-activated Copeland since inconsistent Woodson was p_issed with Cope
Can't stand Copeland? Why is he on the payroll, sympathy?
7. Woodson ticked on Novaks but plays him 5min sometime for 1 shot & Woody coach cant fix Steve confidence
To rebound or go to basket.
You are what you eat. The first time Novak dunks in a game the place will go nuts
8.Woodson says last yr. "We going to run our team thru 2 best playas MELO & STOUT"

Who is Stout?
