I hope he likes crow.

He was on Lupica's show patting himself on the back for making his bold prediction after the West coast trip..
Nalod @ 4/8/2013 7:34 AM
Its been an improbable season thus far with an ebb and flow that defies logic and reputation.

1. Melo refocused and got healthy.

2. JR Smith Stepped up mentally second half of season.

3. Chandler continues to live up to his contract without the chronic nagging injuries that hurt him in previous seasons elseware.

4. Team works better without Amare. When he came back the team was good, but not as smooth running. His play got better but the team not necessarily.

I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of this season. Knicks are taking care of business on the court. Personally I thought brooklyn based on their roster would be more interesting and worth following. The buzz died down with their play. Still a very good rebound season for them based on the previous year but with a roster and payroll they have they are not playing up to potential. Williams is playing better of late but BroPez looks gassed.

They can be a problem for teams in the playoffs if they get some things together.

Knicks, MSG and Dolan wanted to take the buzz out from brooklyn and I think succeeded in large because of what the Knicks did, not their "failure". The proof is put on the court and the wins and losses!

Charles looks like he eats lots of things besides Crow!

Barkley is the NBA's version of rubbernecking at a fender bender in morning traffic. You just have to slow down and look.

Can't wait for his playoff predictions, now that he's been wrong about the regular season.

I'm grateful he's able to earn tons sitting down. Keeps him happy and safely out of politics.

You don't HAVE to slow down and look,

I always pray for everyone involved in the accident and make a point to look straight ahead,

that's how you build character, that's how you build good communities and good nations

Barkley is notable because he gets people's attention.

There are lots of hacks in the media that never get it right. He is just more entertaining.

BUt lets be real, If charles has been saying the knicks are going no where for 10 years, he has been more correct than not.

In the same vein, some of you have been eating the crow he got served for the last 10 years.

K22 @ 4/9/2013 9:26 AM
I still fail to understand why people take Chuck seriously. He's not there for analysis.

That is true. He'd have to be embarrassingly wrong for the next ten consecutive years for the crow eating to be even.

Some of you people must don't live in the real world. Do something right a hundred time (get no credit) do one wrong thing and that is what you are remembered for. Come on people!!!!!

you can ask the same thing about any personality on tv or radio,

i haven't watched espn, sportscenter, or anything of the sort in years; ditto for radio and it's few and far between that i read sports reporters

nixluva @ 4/9/2013 2:29 PM
I have no problem if Charles take on the team was based on a real evaluation of the talent, but he's just being reflexive. It's been easy to be negative about the Knicks for the last decade. The teams weren't that good and neither was the leadership. When things went wrong it canceled out any chance of the team reaching it's potential for any given year.

My problem is when it's clear there is no real evaluation from year to year. Just pure gut dislike for a franchise and basing your predictions off of that is garbage. It was reliable when the franchise was a mess, but now it's clear that a deeper evaluation of the team is needed. No more living off the failures of the past. Every year I take a fresh look at the talent and try to figure out what I think that talent should do, 40 wins, 50, whatever and right or wrong it's what I believe the real potential of the team should be for that given year. I don't believe Barkley actually did that. He let his dislike for the Knicks cloud his judgment IMO.

Because people need fuel for their hate.

Buck Farkey and anyone else who had no faith in the Knicks. Barkley should catch the same hell that SSAS did for making the same BS prediction about the wack Nets being better than the Knicks.

This is a sport, these are knicks fans, why are you guys sooo worried about appearances and being centrist, even handed, realist DBags all the time???

Michael Kay and a host of others ALL thought the Nets were better. I really couldnt see it.
1. Because its not a guard driven league anymore and D-Will is their best player.
2. Joe Johnson is like JR Smith except with a max contract and star expectations. He's just not that guy.

I couldn't for the life of me see how based on that, and the fact that our best player is better than their best player, made them better. Guess I was right. And it feels good.

I was watching ROME on cbs sports a few mins ago, this guy ( I usually like jim rome) said the Knicks don't have a prayer against miami, said we'll be lucky to get out of the first rnd, and if we do, he doubts we beat indi.

he had a couple of internet beat writers on his show who dismiss anything we have done so far during regular season (including the streak) even if we win out, they described the knicks as happy go lucky 3 point bombers that won't hit those same shots in the playoffs..

This irked the sht out of me because....well, quite frankly the streak and the division title doesn't mean much to me either, but it deserves RESPECT, and the KNICKS and Woodson deserves to get props for sustaining their position at the near top of the conference all season long, ahead of the teams that the claim will beat us..

If they really were paying attention instead of reading blogs, they would know better..

Being a sports analysis has got to be the sweetest gig ever, just go on tv and voice your opinion no matter how stupid you sound, just don't say anything racist or any anti gay remarks..you'll get a cool 6 to 7 digit contract..smdh

I caught a bit of Rome's show on the radio and basically heard him saying the same thing. However, I also heard Mike Dunlevy saying he thought the Knicks were for real Cowherd and could give the Heat some trouble on Cowherd's show. Magic said the same thing on the pregame show tonight. While Rome is polarizing he generally is professional and knows his stuff. I think he is way off on his assessment of the Knicks.

being the second seed in the conference is no small accomplishment, even if the eastern conference is weak. but second seed affords home court through two rounds and is a big deal for a team with just average defense like the knicks have. hence the knicks can fulfill the expectations that most knick fans had for the team, which is an ecf appearance. i believe the knicks have enough to beat boston and even if melo and smith went cold there is still that ball movement we have seen lately that beats rotations and finds open men. this is a big deal for the knicks come playoff time. remember that dirk went cold at one point but he kept the ball moving. indiana has not proven to be a very good road team which bodes well for the knicks.

the knicks are starting to resemble the mavs a bit. keep the turnovers low to prevent fast break and transition buckets. keep the ball moving and beat rotations. whether melo stays hot doesn't matter quite so much because he is still capable of moving the ball and not reverting to jacking up shots. if he reverts to hero ball the team is doomed to underachievement. imagine if dirk forced shots instead of trusting teammates.... the mavs would not have a title questions of dirk's legitimacy would continue to swirl.

Why do so many get bent out of shape when the knicks get criticize when its what they do on the court that matters? Basically what we got here are fans who believe every year and have gone disappointed at seasons end, but this year "I KNEW IT!!!!" Really? Seems like every year this type of fan "KNEW IT!".

Barkley been right for how many years? Now he is eating crow? Seems like the "I believe" crowd has years of crow eaten .

Knicks are my team but keeping it real and being a fan can be done. Thus, I don't get upset when anyone gets on the knicks with an opinion. Its just their take. Fans tune in to hear this crap, and love it when they are wrong. It boosts ratings and empowers the little man to think he is important.

So some of you are all feeling real good the knicks are doing well and "were right!" Its a good feeling to be correct and Charles Barkley was not!!!!!!! That makes you smarter than him!

Knicks play has been great when the outside shot is going. The spacing and all the goodness that comes from that is based on them keeping it up.

Argue it all day, or watch the games.

it starts with spacing and ball movement. it's the ball movement that is creating the outside shooting. they manage to stay disciplined with the spacing and ball movement and the shooting will be higher percentage than any sort of iso ball hero ball nonsense.

barkley has been right in almost everything he states-- i really don't understand why he is spoken of with such derision. he doesn't like the knicks suckage not because it's the knicks but because he detests smoke and mirrors. knicks are changing a lot of people's minds right now.

homers should be happy about that instead of piling on after the whistle has blown. frankly it makes them sound desperate.
