Knicks · Shut the Phuck up Amare! (page 3)

Fire extinguishers should shudder in fear as we are coming up on the one year anniversary of that unprovoked attack on one of the instruments that are sworn to protect all of us by that coward Amare.
nixluva @ 4/19/2013 2:21 PM
I really feel bad for Amar'e it hasn't all been his fault. What I do know is that when Amar'e has been healthy in the playoffs he's smashed both the Celt's and Heat with big performances. I think it's easy to just beat up on Amar'e but when he was playing just before getting hurt he was really effective. Lots of players talk too much, but when he's not truly injured Amar'e actually can back it up. It's not like he's not working hard. His poor health isn't his fault. In fact he's hurt himself playing longer to try and help the team win.

Amare was effective when playing, however, we were struggling to win when he was playing also. We were a .500 team this season. No consistency on either end of the floor.

but considering that he was a productive part of the 2ND UNIT, I don't think that can be blamed on him. To be honest, Melo was struggling at the time and Amare's offense kept us in a few games.

Yes, but perhaps amare's presence was a factor in melo's slump. If we are forced to pick between peak melo and peak amare then Carmelo should be the choice every time. We shouldn't have to pick, but if their games don't mesh then they simply aren't compatible. Another thing for amar'e apologists (not saying you are one) to consider: amare is the very definition of a black hole on offense. Dude just absorbs the ball and never releases it, forcing turnovers and getting stuffed as a result. Yeah, I get that he's a PF, but that is not a great excuse in my book. For all melo's ball-hogging he's a disciple of magic Johnson's school of passing when compared to amare. Amare actually stagnates our offense and forces the issue way too much. I won't talk about his defense because that horse was beaten to death years ago. The man can have very efficient nights, but has he really been the net positive for this team we all want to believe he is?

Yep, but just because two things happen at the same time, it doesn't prove cause and effect. Melo was on a downward slide due to his injury, Felton was out then rusty, JR was still old JR etc. Personally, I think Amar'e helped keep us afloat during that stretch- his 10/10FG shooting certainly didnt hurt us.

Hmm, why did Woody say today Amar'e is a ways off and "hasn't started running" when the practice photos on Knicksnow clearly show him running? Hopefully he's bluffing!

This is how i have felt. I think Amare had a negative impact on the ball movement, Melo, the outside shooting, overall chemistry, and what had made this team successful early on. When he was on the floor, you could see less confidence from this team and destroyed chemistry because teammates were going out of their way to try and force Amare's fit in the flow of the offense. Melo was very unselfish and had highlight passes to Amare to get everyone excited, but for the most part he was forcing the issue and it negatively impacted his rhythm as well as the team.

We must remember , without Amare we got no Carmelo Anthony signing. Think about it !

Rumble young man Rumble !

Says who? that's pure speculation.
Melo wanted two things: 1) To play in NYC, maybe brooklyn if necessary 2) To make big bucks before the CBA

I get the feeling Amar'e wants to contribute any way he can and since it can't be on the court, he gives it a try off it.

But you'd expect a guy that has gone through all he has to reserve his thoughts on a subject he right now has no say. The players that actually have a say are not making such proclamations, so I'd be more diplomatic if I were Amar'e.

Well, if I were Amar'e I wouldn't be hitting fire extinguishers, so who knows what to expect.

Get well and get on the court, big fella. Knicks could be special this postseason and since you started it, it would be nice to get you a role in this movie.

misterearl @ 4/19/2013 8:07 PM
If any team needs so-called "bulletin-board" nonsense to get ready for the playoffs, they ain't ready.

Amare did no harm whatsoever.

Play on playa

Always?

Clyde Drexler can barely walk erect these days. It happens when you shock your knees from a 36"+ vertical repeatedly on a hard surface.

Amare is just a man. Not a superhero.

IronWillGiroud @ 4/19/2013 10:43 PM
Amar'e, smfh
ShellTopAdidas @ 4/20/2013 8:55 AM
We have no business losing to the Celtics no matter what Amere says or anybody on this team says.
PresIke @ 4/20/2013 9:36 AM
amar'e is just that kind of dude to me...intense, passionate about winning, and part of why i like him actually...

he has confidence in his teammates...that's a bad thing?

i think this is being blown out of proportion...but, sure maybe he should have kept quieter...

but, sure 'easy to say' for him when you aren't playing, but that does not not likely seem like that was his intention...

jrodmc @ 4/22/2013 11:43 AM
I don't know what's dumber, Amare saying dumb things,

or

people telling Amare what he should be saying.

Moses Malone: Fo, Fo, Fo.

One of the very few positive examples of talking before walking. And even the original double double machine (and 2 blocks a game) was off by one.

Sheesh! 3 pages of "Amar'e, shut up". What else is the guy gonna say? "Uhhh, I don't know...." Down to the final game, I guarantee that we beat the Celts too. If I'm wrong, I am not gonna watch the next round of the play offs. Just like last year.
