9 WR Tavon Austin--maybe the best player in the draft at position of need

13 G John Cooper --Athtletci huge and needed on a line that has gone down hill quickly

39 RB Eddy Lacy--Perfect combo of size and speed that we just have not had.

I don't mind Lacy in Round 2 as the Jets have literally no running backs on their roster(Mike Goodson/Bilal Powell BARF!!!)

I'm no GM, but when you trade away your best defensive player in franchise history, it means it's time to rebuild.

Don't know if Bark Mingo is the answer, but they'll need to either get an elite pass rusher or D lineman(Jarvis Jones or Star Lotulelei)or draft Revis replacement(Dee Milliner).

Maybe get lucky and draft both!

All I know the Jets are going to suck so bad this year they'll have a chance to draft the BEAST OF BEASTS next year:

I think the Jets were prepared to take Auston and St Louis stole him. They said they had 2 offensive players ranked with the two defensive players -the tackles up top. They wouldve taken Cooper and Auston and got neither. The only thing that makes sense for the Jets is to move to a 4-3 defense--they have way to many high caliber assets not to. We only have to wait 6 picks--so I have Lacey or Ertz from Stanford. I think they like the QB from Syracuse as well but Id have to imagine the rest of the draft will be slanted to offensive players. We lost Keller and the rest of the guys on the roster are back ups. Ertz has the speed and size we need as a target.

Agreed. Pretty sure the focus on the day 2 will be on offense for sure, after whiffing on Austin.

Lacey or Ertz would be a good start. Wouldn't mind Montee Ball or Nassib either.

Agreed with Briggs, we have to go 4-3 this year, if we do we have the makings of a front 4 similar to the Giants of a few years ago. Only time will tell if we can get to that level.

It's important that we go into training camp without Sanchez and Tebo. I think both should be cut/traded before summer camp to avoid any distractions.

I think when we come to next season--we will find out the best player we got in the draft is Chris Ivory. He's a top 10 talent in that last draft that we got for pick 111 or whatever. We havent had a back with this type of talent--perhaps ever. Curtis Martin was a tough great 4.0 rusher who did not fumble and did not get hurt. This is a bigger faster back than Curtis--I think he reminds me of a bigger Chris Johnson who has the ability to be a 5.0 rusher for a year and a 1600-1800 yard back the way we play. The draft is just so speculative but I have to say that we are very young athletic and big on that defensive line--were faster there for sure--we will have two solid big CB's and a really good nickel. We have vet leadership at safety--but not the playmking you really love to see. On the offensive end we dont necessarily need a QB who has to throw for 300 yards--but he needs to not turn the ball over--have some mobility and be accurate--and I think thats what geno Smith is. I think we have a running game a good one---so we need to over-perform at TE WR and QB.

Have our own QB controversy brewing in Tampa with Freeman. Has the skills but keeps fading late in the season. Glad they got Glennon to push and possibly replace him. Freeman has never been challenged for the starting job and it shows.

He has great mechanics as a thrower, and excels against the blitz. He has great timing on his screen passes, and Marty Mornhinweg was a screen master in Philly.

The only question is do you start him now or later.

I think the key is getting a decent pass catching Tight End. In Mornhinweg's system the backs and Tight Ends catch alot of passes, so that will be key in free agency.

All I know is Chris Ivory will be used a ton in this system, as a runner and pass catcher.

To be fair, when Freeman first started for the Bucs, he would make some awful plays and then come off the field with a big grin on his face like it was no big deal. Drove me up the wall. That and his conditioning. He did turn into a serviceable and sometimes top rated QB, but I'm tired of the late season TOs. He ranks in the top 5.

I really hope Glennon turns out to be the real deal if its another bad finish for Freeman. His skill set is perfect for TB offense but his leadership skills have also been questioned.
