Papabear Says
Yes Melo had a bad game. You can't win them all. What happened to Copeland? He didn't play. Melo was off today. All I can say is that look how many games he won for us but today he had a bad game. And for all those who think we can win a championship with out him you are dreaming or smoking dope.
Well, the good news is we get to eliminate them at the Garden.
Nothing to be ashamed of...Great game...Melo had an off night...Way for Felton and Shump to step up in JR's absence..Could be a blessing in disguise down he road...We were on the road and too it to the former Champs with our star having an off game...We battled and stood tall...Took on Boston and the Refs...Onward!!!!
KNICKS WERE MISSING THEIR 2ND BEST SCORER SMITH. WTF WERE SOME OF YOU EXPECTING!
Close it at the Garden wed. Cant let Boston win another game cos then knicks will press

No way should we have been down to that team by 20 regardless if JR was in the line up or not.I've said this before, Woodson really needs to open up his playbook some. We either run pnr or give the ball to Melo/JR and get out of the way....
I disagree...we came out with agression, but the Celtics obviously had more to start. The start of the game at home, down 0-3...was gonna be impossible to match the intensity, but they did for most of the game. I'm proud of the way the Knicks approached the game. The problem is they didn't get enough good shots and they didn't make shots. Melo pressed too much in this one with JR out.
We almost hit our season average for Turnovers in the first half. Lots of lazy/sloppy passes, throwing the ball our of bounds says head is not all the way in the game and the Celts shot 50% from the field. Woody even panicked a little by putting in Q over Cope. Seriously! Listen the Knicks are human, I wasn't shocked by a let down after going up 3-0 not to mention, the Celts are former champs. Knew they were going to come out emotionally charged up. We have to jump on them right from the start on Wednesday...
Im not too upset. We will win Game 5. I just HATE Boston. They cry about us showboating and then they showboat. They have nothing to showboat about. they blew a 20 point lead. We were missing JR and melo played his worst game of the year. I hope we destroy these bums at the garden

I have no words for a person who can say something like this other than please go root for the Bklyn Nets
Melo did play horribly. I dont see what the problem is with saying so.
+1, you have to accept the criticism the same as the accolades given.
I agree, if he makes 2/4 instead of the 1/4 fts in the 4th we win this game. In the end lots of small mistakes added to this loss. Chandler made 2 bad defensive decision in OT. Chandler went under the screen on tery when the screen was on the lower box!! Chandler also doubled PP when he had 1 second to go and already had to take a tough shot, that left KG wide open.
Key for this game...Shump is getting there and Felton's confidence continues to grow...Boston is done and they know it...No way Garnett, Pierce, Terry and Green repeat that effort..They had to be clicking on all cylinders to maintain...We got next...

Agree, Woody was off his game today. When he decide to play Q instead of Cope, I knew we were in for a long day. That guy can't score for cramp. I think woody is more to blame for this lost than anyone else. I really home Woody's brain come back When JR does.

melo had a great year. in fact he had a mvp year. However i have no problem criticizing him for today. The dude was pressing bigtime. i understand he is a scorer but he never once looked to pass when he was double teamed. Thats exactly what boston wnated. Lebron is a scorer also but he also know how to draw the defense to him and find his guys. melo has the ability to do that but he doesnt do it sometimes

Copeland was like a deer in headlights in game one..He couldn't even hold the ball let alone shoot...He is done for the year...

Naw, I would rather have the Broom for these guys. Those tormented me for a decade, and I wanted payback today. lol.
Biggest elementa to build on from this game:
Felton more active scoring and penetrating. He should be more focal in this offense to make it vary from simply dumping it to Melo.
But the biggest...
WHAT ABOUT THA SHUMP!?!?
The guy had the confidence and determination I hadn't seen from him. I loved every second of him on the floor!!! Big threes, big defense!!! Simply amazing! Hope to see this kind of play the rest of the way!

I couldn't believe that. At least Cope could have drawn some fouls and got to the rim.
Many of these posters, the knicks are like a girlfriend who they only show off when she has on makeup.
You aren't her real boyfriend, go root for the Nuggicks or Bklyn Nets

Boston is lucky. We had them swept despite they 20 point deficit.

Shump was great. although i wish he hit that 3 in the corner. That led to the terry 3
Really would have liked a nice long break for the Knicks before the 2nd round.
JR breathed life into a dead team. Plain and simple. Bench points were 22-7 today. Pretty much the exact opposite of the series average. His actions extended the series. Melo was off its gona happen. But missing JR was the reason we lost. All there is to it. He deserves the love hate relationship he has with the fan base.
If this goes back to Boston it's trouble. End it Wednesday.

It is what it is, I think the team has to share the blame for getting in the 20 pt hole in the first place but I do agree Cope should come off the bench before Q... Granted Cope was off his game at the beginning of the series but he's done some good things against Boston in the past. Not to mention he's been with the team for more than 4 games.
