NBA · Well you can't blame Melo for Denver Loosing to Golden State in the playoffs. Who's fault is it now?? (page 2)

I love Melo...but he's still in line to lose another 1st round. Nothing is won yet. People should stop comparing Denver and NY already. All I care about is a Knicks win tonight.

Knicks biggest problem is Amare making 20 million while wearing a suit.

Thing is Amare will expire. Lawson isnt getting any taller. Gallinari isnt going to become an iron man. Oh and they have to pay Igoudala or they will be worse next year.

Melo has been getting all the heat in regards to Denver not progressing in the playoffs. What Happened. They still loss.

they just aren't as good with gallinari out. gallinari is a sneaky good player in that you don't realize that he's good until he isn't there. it's why he is so divisive but there is no denying that the nuggets struggled without him during the season this year and last year.

Didn't you tell me when the Knicks were struggling earlier this season that "injuries are an excuse"?

I would have truly enjoyed reading the posts in the opposing "I told you Melo suhucks Franchise Cancer DonkeyKong" threads had Denver advanced.

Instead, we read of the sneaky goodness of MIA Gallo. And his advanced stat playoff performances.

Interesting.

i can't answer you honestly when you take a statement i may have made out of its context. what was the context and who did it concern?

you can trust me that if you do the research i will own up to what i said and admit being a hypocrite if it's truly warranted.

i don't have the ability to research old posts on this forum for some reason. s there a search function?

A few comments:
-I did not want to keep Gallo, Wilson, etc. I just didn't want to do the Melo trade. The only players I wanted to give max contracts to and build around were Lebron, Wade, Harden, and Paul. I said otherwise, rebuild.
-Lawson is not a max contract player. He's paid to be a very good player but not a superstar and he has been very good. It's rare that he'd be matched up against a tall, high scoring PG who can punish him for his height. Curry and Westbrook are probably the only ones in the league who qualify, and Westbrook is not a dangerous shooter who would shoot over him.

They didn't play good defense most of the series. Missed inside shots. Didn't play their game. No Gallinari. Didn't play physical. Those are the main reasons. Just didn't execute.

It might not have been you (looking for the exact post is too time consuming), but I think it was- I think we were talking about the Knicks and I said Felton was injured and Amar'e had been injured etc, and you (or whoever it was) said that injuries were an excuse. And then I said that injuries are a fact not an excuse.

Of course injuries have an impact. With a healthy Gallo, Denver probably beats the Warriors (the games were very close). Sometimes teams can overcome injuries, but it doesn't alter the facts that they'd do better at full strength.

And 3 1st round playoff series losses in the west prove you need a superstar but 2 (so far!) 1st round playoff series losses for us with an alleged superstar in the leastern conference don't counteract the argument?

well i didn't think it was me who said that, but if i did mention "injury" it may have been in relation to a guy "playing hurt," not an "injury" per se. when you are injured you can't or shouldn't play at all and that has an impact on the team, especially gallinari in denver.

you play hurt you have to adjust your game. felton was playing with a hurt hand for instance. his pinky was injured, yes, but it did not prohibit him from playing, so he "played hurt." he kept shooting anyway. i remember that i quoted mr. frazier saying "you've got a broken finger on your hand-- don't shoot!"

His pinky was broken. He played because he has a ton of heart. Just like playing with the flu or plantar fascia or a dislocated shoulder or a Torn hip flexor. Right now rose and lin do not look good. If rosé is out for insurance reasons that is different.
