I can see teams like Pacers/Spurs/Clippers getting much deeper with their team and with their flexibility in their cap
Lets not forget some of these teams still have the ability to use their amnesty as well and could steal some of our FA's including

Copeland 2-3m for 2-3 years
Martin 2-2.5m for 2 years or even a team option for 2nd

We're suppose to be a title contending team, so I can't see us trading a significant member of the team for essentially nothing. That trade exception would only be pursued if there was a current star that is available, which I don't think any team would give up for cap space/flexibility. Besides, the Blazers should at least give up their draft pick in this draft for a top 10 center in the league.
The team has options besides trading Chandler. They can trade Camby to a team looking to dump cash if they give them 3 mil to pay for Camby's contract next year. I could see Orl giving up on Jameer or Afflalo.
I don't think we'll have a 2nd round pick for the rest of the decade. We traded a ton of picks.

I think both players should be on the Knicks radar but I doubt Camby is enough. Nelson and Afflalo are starters, so we'd need assets that include young players and/or pick(s) to interest in a rebuilding franchise.

Very creative thinking. If the Knicks lose to Indiana it will be an interesting offseason. I think the Knicks bring Prigs back with a raise. I hope they find a way to bring back Cope, Martin and JR. I worry about the Knicks having to rely on KMart/Amare too much if they trade Tyson. Both guys have had micro fracture surgery and I think KMart benefitted from having a long time off this year.

Jermaine O'Neal is a free agent and he's managed to stay healthy/productive all season. Maybe we could sign him if he decides to note retire. Even we did sign him though, we'd still be pretty shaky at the 5 since I doubt he'd be able to play more than 20mpg.

Not sure if Portland would laugh at this offer because Chandler at 14m is over paid, while 6m more they could get Pau Gasol and has only 1 year left

I think we'd have a better shot of Chris Paul WITH Tyson Chandler in tow. Besides, there is a general rule of thumb that you don't trade big for small. They should amend it to include not trading (a talented, top 10 center) big for next to nothing in return. Portland would have to give up at least first rounders in a decent draft for me to consider that.

I don't understand how or why people still go crazy over Europeans. The success he's having over there is almost all but guaranteed not to translate to the NBA. Hell, James White was tearing up those leagues and he can't even break into our rotation. I would not be giving up any serious value for a bet that is against the odds.
