yeah, its one thing to heckle, that's part of the game but, when you start invading their personal space like that, things can get ugly real fast. They need to maybe make those tunnels a little wider to give more distance between the fans and players.

i think when you put yourself out there as a pro athlete, it's fair to be subject to abuse by the fans, i don't see why it would get to a healthy athlete

the issue is proximity and considering how INSANE some fans can be, especially after they have had a few drinks.....the potential for a very ugly incident can't be denied.

think of how easily that could have gone from a f-you finger in the face to being mushed or worse because, he was within her reach.

if it got ugly, it's on the player 100%,

it was a rude gesture but at the end of the day it's not any different from all the other abuse and heckling pro ballers receive from opposing fans,

that's why the player is a pro, as a pro you are in a different world than the fan,

if she touched him, this is a different story, but no contact, i say fair game

So if someone walks up to you in the street, invaded your personal space, and mushed you, you wouldn't do anything? Just because you play a sport exceedingly well doesn't mean that you're not human. Fights have been started for less, especially in New York amongst New Yorkers.
