+1. And he played with a dislocated shoulder.

Melo needs a Pippen or Wade type co-host.

Very difficult to comprehend a player having an injury to an area on his body that directly affects shooting and yet he put up more FGA during the playoffs than the regular season?
This is one of the biggest mysteries out of all of this. Especially against a team knowing how much a focal point he is to what we do. So either Meloo should have shot less or Woody should have implemented a better game plan.

As do most players in this league...OTOH....there are 2 teams playing right now who have neither....

I loved the interview ..Asked about how George was as a defender...He said they protected him because when he got in the lane, Hibbert was there...Come to think about it,he did get in the lane at will on George...He needs some help...
He has been a warrior the last couple of years going it practically alone..

Melo's situation reminded me of the Ewing Era.

I wonder if that was a shot at Tyson? Hibbert was there but Tyson wasn't. I read it that way at least.
When is Hibbert a FA?
Just watched a clip from NBATV. JR smith never looked to see where his man was from the 20sec mark of the shot clock till the 13sec mark when his man sneaked behind him for an open layup. How do you not look to see what your man is doing for that long while your on the weak side?

Agreed. Woodson showed Amare a ton of respect.
Please, Please, Please...I don't want to hear how great Amare feels in the offseason...

+1. respect Melo. you had no one else worthy of being in the starting 5.
pacers are the better team. they are younger and they rebound and defend and have a great two-way player in paul george.
the knicks are not being coached properly in terms of boxing out. it's one of least glamorous things to do and requires a great deal of energy but in the playoffs you need to be able to box out.
and the free throw disparity is a testament to the pacers ability to attack the basket-- reminiscent of the nuggets actually. the knicks defense looked like a sieve out there.
melo once again great through 3-- he needs those screens to excel and be efficient... but his conditioning remains below par. can't have a max player not fresh in the 4th quarter. max players should be in the best condition.
his fans want to say he put the team on his back and kept the knicks in the game but there is more to basketball than scoring the ball.
as i have said for many weeks, when the coach and the player have a history of playoff futility like woodson and anthony have, you have to hope against hope.
i am impressed with indiana. they definitely exceeded my expectations.
now what?

Was just thinking that...They brought in KiKi and Ro Blackman after they were done...They brought in Kidd...

Don't forget Bernard King Era.
I hope JR opts out asap and some idiot team overpays him. He can't be off the team fast enough. Wish Tyson was right behind him.
Knicks need to get younger, bigger, & more athletic. If nothing else was shown this series, that was.
No rebounds, no rings, as Riles always said. He's right.
Godawful officiating. Woodson should have stepped up the way Doc did, took them to task publicly, and absorbed the fine. Respect isn't given in this league, it's demanded. Refs clearly don't like or respect the Knicks. A 46-18 disparity at the foul line is just a joke.
Shump is the future. He needs to shoot 1000 jumpers a day all off-season. He will be a really good player once he becomes more consistent from the outside. I hope Prigs returns, I hope Kidd & Camby retire.
Melo played with a lot of heart this series, if not always high basketball IQ. He really could use a Chris Paul. A smarter player and a wonderful playmaker. Wish there was some way to make that happen...
Melo and Shump are untouchables in my opinion ...Every other position are due for an upgrade...Cope off the bench..Bring in OJ Mayo...

JR said he wants to retire a knick. He also said he loved his teammates and coaches. I agree with Wally, he is too good of a talent to let walk.

I knew as we signed him and his trucked got totaled it wasn't going to end well for him....He and Camby was putrid signings just disgusting....yet GRUNNY got tons of credit for putting this team together this season and many thought he should have won EOY....
Revionist history. Kidd helped win games this season he just didnt have enough left in the tank for the playoffs.
Same dude that had Kidd as MVP earlier in the season...Kidd is done and has been done a long time ago..
We didn't put this team together so role players coudl have a couple good games of glory during the season. We put the team together to win a Championship and for the longest throughout Melo's career he's been excused for having chitty rosters. Welp looks like your scripts haven't changed.
You realize 6gms and not scoring a single pt in a playoff series is probably more difficult to do than winning the current lottery which is 1/175mil chance....
As far as Kidd being MVP at season's begin yeah we started out 18-6 right? And Kidd had nothing left to show and we're gone fishing....because according to you 2 Melo's play has maintained MVP level...so obviously it appears our success was gauged more so on what Kidd provided. Because Melo is Melo.
Kidd gave us donuts and the Box is empty because Pacers ate em all.....

Oh, I didn't forget. The Knicks did that guy dirty. I wish he would've played with Ewing.
