Hypothetical or say he opts out because we don't get him enough help. There was a thread entitled...."What Should We Do With Melo" and posters took it relatively seriously although wouldn't what you just stated have applied to that thread too?

I chose non-playoff teams because they made the playoffs without him and some teams made Conference Finals without him. I want to eliminate those teams.

Everyone loves the lottery strategy until they look back and realize that the team has stunk for the past 5 years and is not any closer to a championship than it was before. I wouldn't mind a Melo trade so long as it is not to completely blow up the team, but rather make it stronger through better-fitting pieces.

This is what I've been saying. Why would we trade Melo if Denver is taking are picks. Are luck we trade Melo just miss the playoffs and then we will win the lottery and the Nuggets will get the #1 pick.

So are posters implying a player who led the league in scoring and led a toiling Knicks team going nowhere 10yrs prior to acquiring him, which resulted in 54 win season and a semifinals appearance has no trade value?

I wasn't asking the question from the perspective of what it does to us...let's assume we'll be fine. I wanted to know which non playoff team does he get close to or take to the promise land.

It wasn't a difficult question at all.

I agree but at the same time I dont think there's any player besides Lebron that would have that strong of an impact on any of these lottery teams. Especially if you take into consideration the assets they'd have to give up to acquire them...

I think he could get Cleveland, Portland, and Minnesota a long ways providing their star players are healthy. I also think Philly would join elite status.

He would destroy Portland with his one dimensional ball hogging. And he would not augment Rubio-Love chemistry in Minny either. I haven't followed Philly at all recently.

I'd have to say Dallas they were the only team that could have made the playoffs had Dirk been there the whole season.

melo would have held it down better than OJ mayo for sure.
