Lebron has an opt out after next season. As loyal as Lebron is, might he leave the Heat to join the knicks/Melo with Indy asserting themselves and Wade and Bosh in decline?
Would Melo and Lebron also be a clumsily constructed team?

I think if Lebron leaves he plays with Kyrie and Noel in Cleveland. However, he and melo grew up playing against each other and on dream teams. I think he is much quicker to come to ny to play with melo then amare.

honestly, no one is running to NY to play with carmelo... I am so tired of hearing that.. if lebron came here, it wouldn't be for amare either... Lebron chose to join wade, he could have gone to any team as they would have cleared the deck for him.. He didn't chose Denver and carmelo and I am sure he won't do so now. as you said, he would probably head back to cleveland..
but if he were looking at fit, and lebron is a pretty savvy dude, he would look at how his and amare's game would mesh, and it can.... he would also look at the mess carmelo would cause for his game, and he would pass... this is my opinion tho...

To be fair, no one ever ran and WANTED to play in Denver. Just not an ideal destination. Felton hated it, and W. Chandler wanted to leave as well.
And no one is even thinking about Amare or would be in their right mind to team up with him. Too much of a risk.
Also There have been players on record that have wanted to play with Melo ... Billups was one of them and it hurt like hell when he left my pistons.
Lebron pictured a Healthy Amar'e and told Cleveland that they should keep Hickson. They also could have paired up in FA but Lebron so a healthy Amar'e and chose Bosh and Wade.
As much as it hurts to say this, Melo is the new version of T-mac years in Orlando, with the lovable Amare playing the Grant Hill role.
Melo does not really mesh with anyone, save Billups, and maybe Chris Paul.
Melo would pout if Hibbert was on his team and never pass to him, or try to pass and turn it over. Melo needs to work on his passing. He is not LeBaron.
no player wants to come to play on the same team as carmelo anthony unless, like carmelo, they care more about money than winning. he is impossible to win with as a main piece-- his defense is lousy and he has zero ability to make others better. he has failed as the main guy every year, and his best success was when billups forced him into something closer to a secondary role.
i can't imagine the pacers winning a single game against the heat if they had melo in there for either west or george.

On the flip side, if Chandler was switched with Hibbert, and JR switched with Lance , I think Melo could have won. Melo needed somebody, anybody (including the coach) to step up for the whole series. Our rookie did and so did shump, but not enough.

I think lebron would love to play with Melo. They compliment each other better as Melo is a better spot up shooter than wade and plays in the post more. It would take Melo away from handling the ball and focus on what he does best. That being said, I think if he leaves its only to go back to Cleveland.
Melo and LeBron = 6 championships in a row, sweeping every series in playoffs and winning 70 games each year.

If I were Lebron and were opting out now, I'd rather join OKC, Ind, SAS, Houston if they add Dwight, and LAC. I'd rank Memphis, Chi, and Den even with us.

LOL - at anyone thinking Lebron would enjoy playing with Melo. But if he is looking only to cash out to the max then NY makes sense.
