The thing about Howard is this could all of been avoided had he not opted in. He would of ended up where he wanted. He did this to himself. I think people are over critical of his game though still better then almost every big man in the NBA.

Keep in mind that the legendary lakers are under new (bad) ownership...

They hired a coach incompatible with his style of play OVER the best of all-time.
They've come out on record and said that bigs aren't the future of the league.
Their star player has a torn Achilles.
They have no future past next season other than a Hail Mary for LeBron James.

It's nowhere near the position it was in a few years ago.

Dwight led the league in rebounding with a torn labrum and is the best defensive center in the game. His personality just isn't conducive to a basketball market like LA. I don't even think he really wanted to leave Orlando and his personality is suited for smaller markets. If he wants to win, he'll go to Houston and I think he'll do much better there than he has in LA.

I'm down on D12 cuz he's a clown. He doesn't take things seriously enough. He blames everyone else but himself. He puts up numbers but they don't necessarily add up to anything. People keep saying he's the best Center, but in reality that is nearly meaningless cuz he doesn't consistently get his team to where it needs to be. A player as talented as he is should be able to at least lead by example. I'm not expecting him to be a leader in the vocal sense, but just be a true professional. Inspire his troops. Clowning around all the time doesn't get it done. Most of all the dude hasn't grown as a player in all this time. He's still making the same mistakes. Still battling with his coaches instead of just listening and giving his all. He submarined SVG and now he wants to have him coach again. Dude is a clown.
