We basically got a better Danilo Gallinari back...

Stop trolling. Barg is a huge piece of s.... No heart, no D, no rebounding, no FT, poor shooting. How is he a better gallinari? You must be trolling, obviously.

This is exactly people said about Vince Carter before he left Tornto. Just sayin'.....
Can't compare carter to barg. Carter was an all-star type player

Not comparing them as players. Just pointing out that Toronto has a way of eating away at a its player's will to play.

Carter was a completely differt situation. he was a top player bargnani has never been anything close

With the exception of Carter, how many of Toronto's top picks have actually flourished there. And even Carter go to the point where he felt the need to dog it.

Truthfully i dont care and secondly i dont like excuses. The guy better deliver and better not be a injury problem. i hope he does but you can understand why i have some reservations. Im not pulling this crap out of thin air. i have watched this guy for a long time and i know his weaknesses/issues

Knicks have no pick next year and a swap the year after. We arent throwing in the towel.

Bargnani will be a 3rd or 4th option at best. He should also benefit from playing next to Melo. No pressure.

yeah of course because everyone flourishes playing next to melo especially come playoff time oh wait...

Are you suggesting the historic flameouts in the playoffs by Tyson, Kidd, and smith are on melo? Kidd couldn't make a wide open lay up. Tyson couldn't hold onto the ball and was destroyed by his man. I have no idea what caused smith's slump but he cost himself millions.

Not the melo police. Your post suggests guys don't play well when melo is their teammate. Can you explain what you meant.

We dont need Bargnani to have monster games every night.

Some guys dont get motivated after years of losing. It's not like Bargnani is out of shape.

Novak and Camby were useless. At least Bargnani can play some minutes at backup center.

Well if you noticed i never blamed melo in my post. i actually was blaming guys like jr smith tyson and kidd. Dont get me wrong melo still has to do things better to help the team but i didnt blame him for the losses

Apparently Toronto is after Bledsoe.

He's still gonna have a similar role anyway. Over the years the stretch 4 has become a really big role and now so many teams are moving bigs out to the perimeter to open up the paint, if they have a forward that can stroke it. With so few 7'ers that can really post, it makes sense to open things up. I think this is a great spot for Bargs to get his groove back. It's not all on him anymore. He can just relax and fit in. I actually love his versatility. If Woody can get him to buck up and be a bit more attendant on the boards that would make it even better.

Knicksfan @ 7/1/2013 1:11 AM
The never ending ritual of hating a move. How many times have we been through this and still believe the sky is falling?

Im not a fan of trading picks, but some here make it look like we are trading MJ in his prime in those picks. Truth is that while they are very valuable for a team limited like us, the kind of moves that we can make would probably make you have the same reaction. Raptors' fans can say all they want, truth is Bargnani was pursued by some and the Knicks acted by sending picks. If you really think Camby and Novak alone could make it happen, no matter how down the stock is on Bargnani, you haven't been following the NBA.

Do I love this move? I'm on the fence as will probably be until I see the final roster build. I do like that a healthy and motivated Bargnani could potentially become a solid second option after Melo, one that balances well with Melo scoring down low and Bargnani making bigs go outside. Bargnani brings offensive options to a team that many times became Melo or bust.

I do think this is the first of maybe a few more moves. Lets judge the final product when it is assembled.

Who's the extra player traded away

Dagger @ 7/1/2013 1:19 AM
If this is not a set-up for another move then Grunwald should be dismissed. Bargnani is crap. His shooting numbers- inefficient crap, his scoring numbers- nothing special, his rebounding numbers- passable for a f**king shooting guard, too bad
this loser stands 7 feet tall (inconceivably terrible).
His assist numbers- awful considering the amount of time he had the ball in his hands, his defense- atrocious. His contract sucks, his game sucks, and we gave up 3 picks to take this sack of sh*t off the raptor's hands, and to TOP IT ALL OFF he doesn't fill a need in any way whatsoever, in fact he makes crippled amare redundant. This NEEDS to be a setup for a trade, it HAS to be, if not then wow, just wow.

GS offered Lee for Bargs and they took the Knicks deal--we couldve had chocie of taking David Lee I would have to assume
Hersports85 @ 7/1/2013 1:42 AM
The Golden State Warriors are searching for a trade of David Lee, who has three seasons and $44 million remaining on his contrac.t

The Warriors offered Lee in a deal for Andrea Bargnani, but the Toronto Raptors elected to send him to the New York Knicks.

The Warriors also have offered Lee along with Brandon Rush to the Portland Trail Blazers for LaMarcus Aldridge.

I would send Bargs to Golden state right now.
